Channel 5 axes popular show after 21 years on screen following disastrous rebrand that caused fan-fury
Bosses at the broadcaster were faced with huge backlash from seething fans when The Gadget Show was rebranded in 2023.

Its long-running tech-orientated format was given an overhaul and a new title - Shop Smart, Save Money - with a broader focus on consumer affairs.
A new presenting lineup was also established as Gaby Roslin and Ortis Deley became the sole hosts, after CBB star Angellica Bell left after one series.
However, The Sun can reveal Channel 5 has brought the axe down, four series on from its divisive rebrand.
A source said: "The Gadget Show had a loyal following for years but fans were left less than impressed when C5 played with the established format.
"It resulted in long-term viewers tuning out for good, while others slowly dwindled away.
"Between production changes and fan-favourite presenters being replaced, the show lost its appeal.
"After weighing up production costs a decision was made to scrap the series."
The Sun has contacted Channel 5.
Original presenters of The Gadget Show included Jon Bentley, Georgie Barrat, Jason Bradbury, Suzi Perry, Craig Charles and Dionne South.

Addressing backlash from fans at the time of its rebrand, a spokesperson previously said: "While the latest series has proved popular, we acknowledge that there has been some negative feedback regarding the recent format change.
"We understand that change can sometimes be met with mixed reactions, and we appreciate the feedback we have received from our viewers.
"The decision to transition to The Good Gadget Guide: Shop Smart, Save Money was made to appeal to the broadest possible audience while providing valuable insights and recommendations in the realm of technology.
"The world of gadgets is constantly evolving, and we want to ensure that our content remains relevant and valuable to a broad range of viewers.
"Our goal is to strike a balance that appeals to a diverse audience while staying true to our commitment of providing valuable and engaging content in the world of technology."
Last year the production company behind The Gadget Show told fans they were 'rebooting' the series and launched a new podcast that was reminiscent of its original format.
It's presented by original hosts Jason Bradbury and Suzi Perry.

Despite quipping that the response was 'very farmerish', the Top Gear star went on to say that Kaleb still managed to finish in record time to dash off and be by Taya's side as they met the newest member of their family. However, Jeremy managed not to let slip the couple's choice of moniker, as he revealed that his own suggestion has quickly been shot down. He explained how he and one of Kaleb's pals had suggested calling the baby after the field where the farmer had been harvesting when the exciting call came through that Taya was in labour. The former rugby legend, 39, was one of the 15 celebrities to be announced for the BBC show this week, however, it has emerged that Chris nearly turned down the gig due to his shocking situation. The Sun reports that the sports star, who is married to opera singer Camilla Kerslake, 37, was subjected to a campaign of harassment from the woman after briefly meeting her twice at work events last year. Six months after their meeting, Chris was then said to have been targeted by the woman who proceeded to threaten violence and spread false allegations about him and his colleagues - causing Chris to contact the cops. It is reported that the woman, who is now on the National Police Wanted List, has fled the country and is being pursued by the police. A source told The Sun: 'Chris almost turned down Strictly because of what this woman has been putting him and his family through. She's made some disgusting threats. It has been awful for them. 'Chris and Camilla have been told by the police they're not alone. This woman has form for what she's been doing to them and has done it to other people too.'
