BGT winner makes comment on Bruno Tonioli's future as show judge after swipe
EXCLUSIVE: Britain's Got Talent winner Paul Potts shared his true thoughts on the show's current judging line-up - Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden and Bruno Tonioli
Paul Potts says Bruno Tonioli 'needs a bit of reining in'
Britain's Got Talent's first-ever winner Paul Potts has shared how he thinks Bruno Tonioli has taken to his judging role, after replacing David Walliams in 2023. The 69-year-old joined Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden, after David reportedly made "disrespectful comments" about participants.
In November 2023, it was reported that the comedian and the show's producers had come to an "amicable resolution", following his apparent intention to take legal action against the programme.

Sharing his thoughts on Bruno, Paul said: "As for Bruno, sometimes he needs a bit of reining in, but he's getting into the flow of things. I don't think he'll ever stop jumping up and down, though!".

In association with Sky Vegas, the 54-year-old went on to say he believes Bruno has "settled" in with the other judges and thinks he'll be "sticking around for a while".
Opera singer Paul wowed judges Simon, Amanda and Piers Morgan with his rendition of Nessun Dorma back in 2007. Reflecting on how the show has changed since then, he shared his thoughts on the judges and golden buzzer acts.
Paul believes Simon and Amanda have remained "pretty much the same" since his time on the show. "Simon and Amanda have been constants – Amanda's been there for every single series, and Simon only missed one. They're both very straightforward in how they do things," he said.

Although Alesha Dixon was not a judge during his time as a contestant, he said he's had the pleasure of meeting her. Recounting a memorable moment, he added: "My wife and her sister once sang 'The Boy Does Nothing' [Alesha's song] in perfect unison to me, and I told Alesha about it. She loved that.
"Overall, the panel is really good. You definitely need someone with energy, and he's [Bruno] certainly got that." This year, both Bruno and Simon were occasionally replaced by KSI due to their other work commitments.

Following his guest appearances, many have called for the rapper to secure a more regular spot on the panel. Quizzed on whether he'd like to be a judge one day, Paul didn't rule it out.
On what type of judge he'd be, he shared: "I wouldn't want to become the new 'bad guy' like Simon Cowell or anything like that. That's not my style. But when I've been on judging panels before, I've always been straightforward – never rude or abrupt."
Last weekend, viewers witnessed Stacey Leadbeatter win the public vote with her emotive performance of Demi Lovato's Anyone. Her efforts secured her a place in the final alongside semi-final week one victor Vinnie McKee, and golden buzzer recipients Olly Pearson and The Blackouts.

The third semi-final tonight features a vibrant array of acts including; gymnast Albert Amores, the thrill-seeking Bao, singers Electric Umbrella, Jasmine Rice and Mickey Callisto, dancers Harry and Lewis and Ping Pong Pang, and musician Rumac, who are all hoping for a spot in the final.
Following Stacey's performance, Paul shared what he believes could be holding her back for the win. "I'm all for choosing songs that aren't as well-known, since we tend to overdo the same songs, but the arrangement either needed more energy or the song itself needed to be better," he said of her last performance.

He further noted: "Singers often have a tougher time in the final because there's this perception that there are too many of them, and sometimes it's unfairly suggested that singing isn't a 'real' talent – which, of course, it absolutely is."
Britain's Got Talent continues tonight at 7pm on ITV and ITVX.

Jake Paul targets Anthony Joshua fight as boxer reveals six-man hit list

The 'Problem Child' is set to make his return to the ring later this month, but is already planning on staying active with a win against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr Jake Paul has dropped a bombshell by revealing a six-man wish list of future opponents, with British heavyweight Anthony Joshua shockingly making the cut. 'The Problem Child' is gearing up for a cruiserweight clash with Julio Cesar Chavez Jr on June 28, his first fight since outpointing boxing legend Mike Tyson last November. After inking the deal with Chavez Jr, following a period of frustration over fight updates, Paul is already eyeing up his next big challenges. ‌ The YouTuber-turned-boxer has shockingly called out Joshua, a former two-time heavyweight world champion, after a brief phone exchange earlier this year, with hopes to go head-to-head in 2026. Assuming he emerges from the Chavez Jr fight unscathed, Paul is eager to avoid any time away from the ring and has set his sights on even more high-profile fights. ‌ Among those on his hit-list are WBC world champion Badou Jack, as Paul revealed to Most Valuable Promotions: "After Chavez I think Gervonta Davis, Anthony Joshua, KSI, Tommy Fury, Ryan Garcia, Badou Jack. It's a pretty hefty list." Despite mentioning KSI, Paul recently expressed scepticism on Ariel Helwani Show about that fight materialising, saying: "They only want eight just keep adding new stuff [to the negotiations] all the time, and I'm focused on much bigger things." He added: "I'm all KSI has, he's literally nothing without the Paul brothers. Logan brought him Prime, and Prime has kept him relevant, and him being able to fight me is the only thing he has left. At the end of the day, I'm doing much bigger things and don't need to sit here and be negotiating things on Twitter. If they're going to make the fight happen, they're going to do it. "I don't [think it's going to happen]...I've been saying this for five, six years, and this is a longer negotiation than Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao...I'm clearly the one who is an active fighter, I'm fighting everybody, so who's the problem here? They aren't a serious boxing brand, Misfits has gone to s***. Their brand is a there's clearly one side that knows what they're doing and another side that's just joking around and it's a circus." In the same interview, Paul also revealed that he was close to securing a showdown with Davis at 195lbs before the arrangement fell through. Despite agreement terms finalised in March for a potential face-off, Davis' bout with Lamont Roach proved to be a stumbling block. The unexpected draw, marred by controversy over a denied knockdown for Roach in round nine, could now pave the way for a rematch between the lightweight contenders on August 16. The social media star is keen on a dust-up with 'Tank' if they both come out on top in their upcoming fights. "That was on the one yard as well, but he has to rematch Lamont Roach," Paul said. "He wants to get that back. Then we will be back in discussions with Mr. Gervonta. But this is the nature of boxing, you have massive fights on the one-yard line and then they fall through." He added: "I never really thought tank was that good, it just took the right fighter to pick him apart to be honest. Someone who had high activity and wasn't afraid of his power. So, I always saw so many holes in his game, to me it wasn't that surprising that someone finally gave him some good work."
