NAPOLI midfielder Scott McTominay is in the top five most influential players in his position in world football.
That's according to the latest CIES Football Observatory report, which monitors 60 leagues around the world.

The 28-year-old has had a remarkable first season in Italy, helping to fire Napoli to their fourth scudetto and winning the league's Most Valuable Player award.
Few would have imagined he would have achieved this level of success last summer, when he was deemed surplus to requirements at Manchester United and joined Napoli in a £25 million deal.
And this index score from the CIES perhaps just underlines his impressive statistics.
Each score a player receives is based on six performance areas including: aerial play, defence, distribution, take on, chance creation and finishing.
The amount of minutes played and results are also taken into consideration.
McTominay has an index score of 88.1, putting him in the top five attacking midfielders.
That means he is rubbing shoulders with the likes of Liverpool target Florian Wirtz of Bayer Leverkusen. The 22-year-old comes out on top with a score of 93.6.
Chelsea's Cole Palmer is second on 92.4; Real Madrid's Jude Bellingham is third on 90.0; and Bayern Munich's Jamal Musiala is fourth on 89.6.
McTominay is ahead of the likes of Arsenal's Martin Odegaard (84.8); Manchester City's Bernardo Silva (85.1) and his potential future team-mate Kevin De Bruyne (81.1) who is linked with a move to Antonio Conte's side.

McTominay eclipsed all of his former Man Utd team-mates. Infact, Bruno Fernandes (81.0) is the only United player who makes the list of 300, highlighting how poor the English Premier League outfit have been this season.
Of the six categories, McTominay's best attribute is his finishing but he also scores very well in his aerial play - the top three in the category of 50 players.
Liverpool's Mo Salah recorded the highest score overall (100), with Barcelona's teenage star Lamine Yamal (99.6) coming second.
Liverpool and former Celtic defender Virgil Van Dijk came out on top in defence, and Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold, who looks like he on his way to Real Madrid, is first in the wing-back category.
Real Madrid's Kylian Mbappe is the top forward, with a score of 92.3. The French star has 31 goals in 34 games in La Liga this season but missed out on the title to rivals Barcelona.
He edges out Sporting Lisbon's Viktor Gyokeres (89.2) who has had a fantastic campaign in Portugal, with 39 goals in 33 league games. The Swede has been strongly linked with Arsenal.

Liverpool sealing second summer signing as highly-rated Hungarian star to join
Arne Slot is set to add a number of new faces to his squad this summer with deals in the pipeline for Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez and Armin Pecsi all in the pipeline for Liverpool Liverpool are aiming to seal the signing of Hungarian goalkeeper Armin Pecsi from Puskas Akademia for £1.5m. The 20-year-old stopper is seen as one for the future and is set to play for the under-21s from next season. But he will be given chances to impress Reds boss Arne Slot with regular training sessions alongside first-team goalkeeper Alisson Becker and new signing Giorgi Mamardashvili. It is suggested that his current club, Puskas Akademia, will receive a record fee for the young starlet, who is set to fly to Merseyside in the coming days to formalise his switch. Pecsi is a product of Puskas' academy and has gone on to make 52 appearances in all competitions for the club, keeping 15 clean sheets. He has also clocked up five appearances for the Hungary under-21 side. Pecsi could potentially become the third Hungarian in Liverpool 's squad next season. The Reds already have Dominik Szoboszlai at their disposal and want to add another player the midfielder knows reasonably well. The Premier League champions are chasing a deal for Milos Kerkez: the Bournemouth star had been identified as an ideal addition to Liverpool's defence, albeit Andoni Iraola's side have reportedly set a £45m asking price for the left-back. Fellow defender Andy Robertson has already spoken about the prospect of being replaced in favour of Kerkez. Speaking to BBC Scotland, he said: "We're not daft, it looks as if a deal could potentially be done. "But, until that is done, I've not even given that a second thought. I back myself. I've got confidence in my own ability and that drives me forward. "I've had eight fantastic years at Liverpool in terms of winning trophies and being a mainstay in the team, which I'm incredibly proud of. "I'm not getting any younger. I can't change my age, but I still believe I've got a lot to give and that's what I focus on. I focus on myself - you can't focus on other people or who you're competing with." Liverpool have already made an addition to their defence this summer with the signing of Bayer Leverkusen star Jeremie Frimpong. They are still chasing his teammate Florian Wirtz, who would likely break the British transfer record should he too complete a move to Anfield over the coming weeks. Outgoings could also be on the agenda with Federico Chiesa looking likely to depart. Join our new WhatsApp community and receive your daily dose of Mirror Football content. Arsenal targeting shock move for Chelsea's Kepa Arrizabalaga who's available for just £5MILLION this summer
HE'S A KEPA Arsenal targeting shock move for Chelsea's Kepa Arrizabalaga who's available for just £5MILLION this summer Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) ARSENAL are targeting Chelsea keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga to fill their No.2 void. The Gunners are on red alert with the Blues shot-stopper, 30 – who cost a record-breaking £72m back in 2018 – available with a release clause of just £5m this summer. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 3 Kepa Arrizabalaga spent last season on loan at Bournemouth Credit: Shutterstock Editorial Kepa has just 12 months left on his contract at Stamford Bridge, having spent last season on loan at Bournemouth, making 35 appearances in all competitions. It is understood Chelsea are happy to get Kepa off the books, and are in talks with AC Milan to sign 29-year-old Frenchman Mike Maignan, valued at around £21m. Mikel Arteta brought in Cherries keeper Neto on Deadline Day last term on loan after selling Aaron Ramsdale to Southampton for £25m. The Arsenal boss had hoped to sign Espanyol's Joan Garcia, 25, for around £25m to compete with No.1 David Raya next campaign. But it is understood that Barcelona are winning the race for Garcia, leaving Arteta to switch to other targets, and views the Kepa deal as a real bargain. Arteta has been a fan of Kepa for some time, valuing his ability to play out from the back, although there are doubts over whether Kepa would settle for a back-up option. SunSport understands that several clubs across Europe are also interested in the ex-Athletic Bilbao man, with some of them able to offer an appetising first-choice role. Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola would also like to sign Kepa on a permanent basis, but cannot offer European football as a sweetener. BEST ONLINE CASINOS - TOP SITES IN THE UK 3 TRANSFER NEWS LIVE: ALL THE LATEST FROM THE SUMMER WINDOW Should the Kepa deal also fall through, it is understood Arteta will find an alternative, but wants to sort this position quickly with other areas of the pitch in need of bolstering. Arsenal do have two young keepers on their books: 16-year-old Jack Porter and 18-year-old Tommy Setford both made their senior debuts in the Carabao Cup last season. David Raya reveals Arsenal career changed overnight following two-hour meeting However, Arteta does not feel either are ready to take on such a big responsibility, while Setford could potentially head out on loan to gain some experience should the right opportunity arise, after joining from Ajax for £1m in July 2024. It is understood that Setford is highly rated by Arteta, viewing him as a first-team player of the future. Arsenal will also welcome back Karl Hein this summer, who spent last season on loan at Real Valladolid. Hein signed a new contract before going out on loan and it is currently unclear what Arsenal's plans are for him this summer.
