Beloved soap actor Stefan Dennis is rumoured to have joined the upcoming series of Strictly Come Dancing.
The 66-year-old actor, renowned for his portrayal of the six-times married Paul Robinson in Neighbours since its debut episode in 1985, is now free to grace the dance floor this autumn as filming has concluded at Nunawading studios.
This chapter of the iconic Australian soap opera will draw to a close in December 2025, marking over four decades of drama, emotion, and history.
Despite Amazon stepping in to save the show in 2022, leading to its return the following year, the deal has unfortunately reached its end. The final episode of Neighbours was shot at Nunawading Studios in Australia on Friday (July 11) and is set to air on Amazon Prime in December, freeing up Stefan for his potential Strictly stint.
An insider shared with The Sun: "Stefan is a huge character on the soap and is sure to be a hit with Strictly fans. BBC bosses are confident Stefan will bring in the ratings. He has made no secret of the fact that he would love to star on Strictly and will put his all into the training," reports the Mirror.

Paul Robinson's most memorable storyline occurred in 2005 during the soap's 20th anniversary when he was pushed from a mezzanine, sparking the "Who Pushed P.R?" mystery.
Cast members of the long-standing soap, celebrating its 40th anniversary, have been sharing their cherished memories. Stefan expressed: "I never thought a single show would give me the greatest adventures of my career, spanning 40 years. Without Neighbours I would not have met the people, been to the places and lived the experiences of a lifetime. Thank you all."

Jackie Woodburne, who plays Susan Kennedy, also reflected on her time with the show: "It's impossible to measure the gratitude I feel for the gift of 30 years on Neighbours.
"To do so I would have to calculate the number of extraordinary cast and crew I have been privileged to work with, count the number of laughs I have shared with them, measure the pride I feel for the diverse, dramatic (and sometimes outrageous! ) storytelling we have all been a part of.
"We are the best version of 'family'. It has been a wild ride into a happy life. Wouldn't change it for quids!"

The 60-year-old TV personality was dismissed from the popular BBC programme following an inquiry that upheld 45 out of 83 accusations levelled against him. While Gregg has since expressed regret, he firmly maintains that he is "not a groper, a sex pest or a flasher". Following the launch of the investigation, Gregg disclosed his autism diagnosis. He criticised the showrunners for failing to "investigate my disability" or safeguard him from what he now perceives as a "protect me from what I now realise was a dangerous environment". In a chat with The Sun, he admitted: "I know I struggle to read people. I know people find me weird. Autism is a disability, a registered disability." He further attributed the claim that he "never wears pants" to his autism, explaining: "It's not sexualised. It's hypersensitivity - that happens with autism." However, Janet Street Porter, 78, took issue with Gregg's defence during her appearance on Times Radio. She drew parallels between the MasterChef probe and an investigation into allegations made against Russell Brand. Earlier this year, the BBC issued an apology after examining eight complaints about the former 6 Music presenter. Of these complaints, two were lodged during his tenure at the corporation. Former Celebrity MasterChef winner Janet has spoken out, saying: "Back then anybody working class, first of all you were regarded as a bit thick. He has no justification, his justification for everything has been disastrous, absolutely disastrous." She continued to draw parallels with another celebrity, stating: "He's exactly like Russell Brand, he's in his own world and they just do not see it. They do not see it. There's plenty of people like that." The BBC parted ways with both Gregg and his ex-colleague John Torode following an inquiry into their behaviour on MasterChef. The investigation, led by law firm Lewis Silkin, found merit in a complaint alleging John used racist language eight years prior. John however denies the allegation, and says he has "no recollection of the alleged incident and does not believe that it happened". Speaking in the immediate aftermath of his "sacking", John said: "Although I haven't heard from anyone at the BBC or Banijay - I am seeing and reading that I've been 'sacked' from MasterChef and I repeat that I have no recollection of what I'm accused of. He expressed disappointment over how the situation was handled, adding: "The enquiry could not even state the date or year of when I am meant to have said something wrong. I'd hoped that I'd have some say in my exit from a show I've worked on since its relaunch in 2005, but events in last few days seem to have prevented that." Despite the controversy surrounding Gregg, the BBC has announced that the new series of MasterChef will still be broadcast next month. A BBC spokesperson stated: "After careful consideration and consultation with the contestants, we have decided to broadcast the amateur series of MasterChef on BBC One and BBC iPlayer from 6 August. MasterChef is an amazing competition which is life-changing for the amateur chefs taking part. The focus of it has always been their skill and their journey." The broadcaster acknowledged the complexity of the decision, saying: "This has not been an easy decision in the circumstances and we appreciate not everyone will agree with it. In showing the series, which was filmed last year, it in no way diminishes our view of the seriousness of the upheld findings against both presenters. We have been very clear on the standards of behaviour that we expect of those who work at the BBC or on shows made for the BBC." The spokesperson continued: "However, we believe that broadcasting this series is the right thing to do for these cooks who have given so much to the process. We want them to be properly recognised and give the audience the choice to watch the series." The corporation has yet to make any announcement regarding the Christmas or celebrity versions of the programme.

Strictly Come Dancing contestant 'confirmed' as fans spot huge reality star at rehearsals
Eagle-eyed Strictly Come Dancing stars have reportedly spotted a huge star arriving at the BBC Elstree studios for rehearsals The Strictly Come Dancing professionals were all smiles as they rocked up for the first day of rehearsals for the new series on Monday. Ahead of its launch in September, a whole host of familiar faces were papped on Monday morning as they made their way into the rehearsal studio and they were joined by two new recruits. However, it wasn't just the professional dancers that caught fans eyes as one huge reality TV star was reportedly seen arriving at the studio in BBC's Elstree base. According to onlookers, none other than former Love Island star Dani Dyer was spotted arriving at the studios. Naturally, this has sent Strictly fans into overdrive as they believe that mum-of-three Dani, 28, would be the perfect contestant for the long-running BBC dance competition. Sharing a post to Reddit, one user wrote: "My daughter's a receptionist at Elstree and was super excited that she saw Dani Dyer at the studio yesterday. Something to do with Strictly??" Someone else replied: "She is rumoured actually! I guess she will be on it, she'll be good." And another Reddit user echoed: "I've heard her name floating around so that would be brill news." Last month, Dani's name was thrown into the hat as rumours began to circulate about who the stars would be this year. A source told The Sun at the time: "Bosses are thrilled she's agreed to take part and are ironing out her fee. "She's bubbly, down-to-earth and straight-talking and producers reckon she'll make an ideal contestant - not to mention the bonus of having Jarrod and dad Danny in the audience supporting her." It comes after all of the professional dancers, old and new, were seen arriving at the very first day of rehearsals for the long-awaited 2025 series. First to be seen arriving, was much-loved star, Amy Dowden, who is back in business after being forced to leave the show early last year while recovering from a foot injury. The Welsh wonder, who also underwent chemotherapy and a mastectomy in May 2023 following her breast cancer diagnosis, looked delighted to be back with her pals as she smiled for photographers, clutching a coffee and a Holland and Barret bag. Also flashing a smile a mile wide was last year's champion, Dianne Buswell. The Aussie, who lifted the Glitterball trophy with Chris McCausland, arrived at the dance studio sporting a tan waistcoat and matching boots with cut-off denim shorts alongside fellow pro, Kai Widdrington, who flashed the peace sign. Next to arrive was South African star, Johannes Radebe, who cut a striking figure, sporting a Protect The Dolls a paisley neckerchief and suede ankle boots. He was followed by Spanish champion, Gorka Marquez and Ukranian dancer, Nadiya Bychkova, who looked gorgeous in an all-cream ensemble with a Union Jack bag. Nadiya recently admitted that she and pro, Kai, no longer speak to one another after they briefly dated, so hopefully things will go smoothly in training today. Also seen at the studio were Vito Coppola, Lauren Oakley, Karen Hauer and Michelle Tsiakkas. They were joined by Jowita Przystal and Janette Manrara's husband, Aljaz Skorjanec. And finally, making their debut in the Strictly gang were new recruits, Alexis Warr and Julian Caillon. Alexis, hailing from the US, triumphed in So You Think You Can Dance in 2022, earning the title of America's Favourite Dancer and becoming the first female Ballroom and Latin dancer to win the accolade. Meanwhile, Julian, originally from Australia, started dancing at the tender age of 10, focusing on Ballroom and Latin American styles, and has proudly represented Australia in international competitions. It comes as The Sun has 'confirmed' the celebrity contestants set to take part in a number of physical challenges. 'With this brand-new series and another celebrity special confirmed, there will be even more epic battles, more high-octane action and of course even more foam fingers than ever before for everyone to look forward to.'
