Lana Del Rey Causes a Stir With Dreamy, Country-Inspired New Single

Yahoo11-04-2025

The reigning queen of pop ballads, Lana Del Rey, is teasing her next album with her first new song in quite a while. The song is "Henry, come on," a break-up anthem, which has a bit more country influence than some of Del Rey's previous hit songs. There's even a "giddy up" in the song a few times.
Del Rey's next album, The Right Person Will Stay, is slated to come out in just over a month, on May 21. So far, "Henry, come on," is the only song Del Rey has released for this next album.

Probably best known for her hits like "Summertime Sadness" and "Young and Beautiful," Del Rey's smoky and ethereal stylings have made her as popular, though sometimes divisive. In some ways, Del Rey is the anti-Taylor Swift, insofar as her songs tend to move away from pop hits, and, often, closer to James Bond-esque theme songs.
In fact, last May, Del Rey revealed that her 2015 song "24 Hours" was written intentionally as a possible James Bond theme song, saying, 'I wrote that for them," she told Rolling Stone in 2024. Del Rey had hoped that "24 Hours" would be selected for the film Spectre, though Sam Smith's "Writing's on the Wall" ended up being the opener for that film. But, to this day, Del Rey's entire album Honeymoon has serious Bond vibes.
That said, the new song "Henry, come on," makes it seem like Del Rey is maybe moving in a more alt-country direction. Either way, the new song is solid. When The Right Person Will Stay hits on May 21, we'll be listening.

Escaped Inmate Asks Lil Wayne, NBA YoungBoy, Meek Mill for Help

One of the inmates still on the lam after the recent jailbreak in New Orleans has put out a plea for help directed at Lil Wayne, Meek Mill, and NBA YoungBoy. Antoine Massey is one of two men who remains at large after escaping a New Orleans jail last month. Earlier this week, he appeared to post a nearly 10-minute video statement to Instagram, denying he came up with the plan for the jailbreak ('I didn't break out, I was let out'), proclaiming his innocence (he's facing charges of domestic violence), and asking for help. And because there's never a wrong time to shoot your shot, Massey also asked President Donald Trump for assistance. (Trump previously granted a pardon to Lil Wayne, and he just gave clemency to NBA YoungBoy.) 'I'm asking please for help — YoungBoy, Meek Mills,' Massey said. 'People that been through the system that know it's corrupt. Lil Wayne, Donald Trump. When I get back in custody, I'm asking y'all, please come help.' Reps for Wayne, Mill, and NBA YoungBoy did not immediately return requests for comment. The video featuring Massey was posted on June 1, and authorities found it credible enough that they carried out a search of a home where they believed the video was recorded, per The Associated Press. Authorities zeroed in on the location after being tipped off by relatives who recognized the residence, but Massey was not there when the police arrived. Officials did, however, say they found the clothes they think Massey was wearing in the clip. Massey was one of 10 people who escaped the New Orleans jail, fleeing through a hole that was carved out behind a toilet and then climbing over a wall. (The guard assigned to their cell pod was reportedly getting food at the time of the breakout.) Eight of the inmates who fled the jail have since been taken back into custody; along with Massey, the only inmate still at large is Derrick Groves, who was convicted of killing two people last fall. Drew Sidora Reveals She Dated Michael B. Jordan: 'People That Know, Know'

Drew Sidora's latest confession about a past relationship has left many surprised, mostly because it has never been mentioned until now. The Real Housewives of Atlanta star recently sat down with Carlos King on his Reality with the King podcast, where she dished on her past relationships with Ty Young and Dennis McKinley — while also dropping a bombshell. The Step Up star revealed that she once dated Michael B. Jordan, long before he became the Hollywood heartthrob and talent he is today. 'I dated Michael B. Jordan,' she casually said. 'I never said that out loud publicly, but people that know, know.' Possibly even throwing a little shade at her past lovers, she added, 'I like biceps, not bellies.' And we all know MBJ has that plus more. Drew went on to reminisce about the days when Jordan was still a rising star, back when he was acting on All My Children in the early 2000s. According to Drew, she even attended the NAACP Awards as his date at that time. 'He asked me to be his date to the NAACP awards,' she recalled, adding that they were also friendly with each other's families. 'My sister Allison … he would come over and she would cook for him … I met his mom, and you know it was great.' Drew, however, isn't the only one who has spilled tea about a past Michael B. Jordan romance. Brie Tiesi made headlines in 2023 when she claimed to have been intimate with the Sinners star. During a dinner scene on Netflix's real estate reality show, Selling Sunset, Brie casually flexed, 'I could do that and I've done that,' when asked if she'd sleep with Jordan. Another realtor responded to her claims with, 'I want to live through that vagina right now.' While the world has witnessed Jordan's publicized romance with Lori Harvey, he's kept his dating life under wraps since their public split. The 38-year-old has since made it clear that he's not rushing into anything. 'My next relationship is gonna happen when it's supposed to happen,' he told Rolling Stone in 2023. Diddy Offered Bribe For Cassie Abuse Video That Could 'Ruin His Career,' Security Testifies

A security guard testified that Sean 'Diddy' Combs bribed him to make sure video footage of him physically assaulting Casandra 'Cassie' Fine remained out of the public eye. On Tuesday (June 3), Eddy Garcia took the stand to detail how the disgraced mogul labeled him 'my angel' once the deal was set into place. According to Rolling Stone, Garcia initially rejected communications from Combs' chief of staff, Kristina Khorram, who wanted to view the footage. He allegedly instructed Khorram to get a subpoena before being contacted on his personal phone, which made him 'nervous.' Garcia detailed that Combs joined the call and named him a 'good guy' and allegedly explained that if the video was released to the public, it would 'ruin his career.' Garcia then consulted with his supervisor, who allegedly instructed that the security clip could be sold to the Harlem native and his team for $50,000. Garcia claimed Combs exclaimed, 'Eddy, my angel, I knew you could help. I knew you could do it,' per RS. Garcia then detailed traveling to an office building with the damning footage on a transportable drive to meet with Korrham and Combs. He claimed his voice was cracking due to his mental state, so Combs asked Korrham to 'go get him that tea I like.' Before his exit, Combs asked if the flash drive had the only copy of the video, and made a FaceTime call to Cassie during the ordeal. 'Let this guy know you want this to go away, too,' Combs allegedly directed the 'Official Girl' singer during the call. Garcia claimed that Cassie appeared calm, per RS, and wanted the incident to 'go away.' According to Garcia, once Cassie offered her input, he signed a declaration that claimed the footage at hand was the only copy, and signed a non-disclosure agreement on Combs Enterprise letterhead, dated March 7, 2011, two days after the hotel assault. Garcia said he did not receive a copy and would be forced to pay $1 million if the terms were violated. He then received a brown paper bag filled with $100,000. 'I was nervous, I was in a rush to get out of there,' detailed Garcia. According to RS, Garcia claimed to have given $50,000 to his boss while splitting the other $50,000 with the other security officer on duty at the time of the incident. Earlier in the trial, LAPD officer Israel Florez and a former security guard at the hotel testified to their experience with Combs as it related to the assault of his ex-girlfriend. The footage was released to the public last year by CNN. 'She was scared,' Florez swore under oath of Ventura's presence after being physically attacked. 'She was in the corner, hood on, covered up. I couldn't see her face, she was pretty much in the corner. On the floor was a destroyed flower vase.' The footage was played for jurors in Combs' ongoing criminal trial, where he faces one count of racketeering conspiracy; two counts of sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion; and two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. The 55-year-old continues to maintain his innocence.
