The film that shot Cillian Murphy to fame is airing on TV tonight

The film that Peaky Blinders star Cillian Murphy credits as his breakthrough role is airing on TV tonight - as the much anticipated sequel is set to be released in cinema soon
Peaky Blinders fans can prepare to watch fan favourite Cillian Murphy onscreen tonight - although they may not hear his Brummy accent.
The star was already an established actor before the hit show, however, the drama significantly boosted his profile when it first aired in 2013. Now, fans will be able to see the star 11 years prior to the show, as movie 28 Days Later airs on BBC One tonight. Fans will be able to catch the Horror/Sci-fi movie on the box at 10.30pm tonight (Sunday June 15) just after the news - with it wrapping up at 0.15am.

The movie is set 28 days after a killer virus is accidentally unleashed from a British research facility. It follows a small group of London survivors, who are caught in a desperate struggle to protect themselves from the infected.

Cillian Murphy stars in the lead role as Jim, a survivor of the Rage Virus. He starts off as a bicycle courier in the movie, with a nasty fall landing him in hospital. However, people with the Rage Virus overan London, and as hospital staff fled to escape, Jim was locked into a secure room. He later woke from his coma 28 days later in an abandoned hospital.
Also starring alongside Cillian in the film is Naomie Harris, Christopher Eccleston and Alex Palmer.
The film airing on BBC One comes shortly before the release of the second film in the series, 28 Years Later. Set almost three decades after the first movie offering, released in 2002, some have found ways to exist amidst the infected.
Fans were curious as to whether they'd see Cillian in the role - although, it's bad news as character Jim won't be making an appearance in the movie. However, fans can look forward to a potential return for the star in the third instalment, due to be released in 2026.

Earlier this year, producer Andrew Macdonald, confirmed to EW would not return to the movie in an onscreen capacity. It doesn't mean a no forever, though - as director Danny Boyle hinted at a return during the ending of its 2026 sequel, The Bone Temple.
'He is in the second one,' Danny Boyle told IGN. 'I shouldn't give away too much. I'll get killed.'
'All I can say is you have to wait for Cillian, but hopefully he will help us get the third film financed,' he later told Business Insider.
Cillian has spoken highly about his role on the movie crediting it for being his "breakthrough role". At the time, he was just 26 years old.

Greenock company answers appeal from DIY SOS and Nick Knowles

Clyde Tool Hire has stepped forward to support a Newton Mearns family featured in the upcoming episode of the BBC One show, donating tools and equipment essential for the ambitious home transformation. The family at the heart of the project has recently suffered a devastating personal loss, prompting the show's return to Scotland after several years. The DIY SOS team, known for transforming homes and lives for the past 27 years, issued a public appeal earlier this year for tradespeople, volunteers, and suppliers across Glasgow and surrounding areas to help. In a post on social media, Clyde Tool Hire shared their excitement at joining the effort: " Nick Knowles answer. "We are delighted to be playing a part in the current build in Newton Mearns, an extremely worthwhile and mammoth undertaking, helping an incredible family who have been through so much tragedy. "James popped in today to collect our donations of mitre saws and collated screwguns for the Big Build with the purple shirt crew, and we'll be heading along to the big reveal next Thursday to see everything they've managed to achieve for this truly deserving family. "We couldn't be happier that Clyde Tool Hire is getting to help and can't wait to see what the team have managed to achieve." READ MORE: BBC's DIY SOS calls on Glaswegians to help with a build The Glasgow Times reported in May that the DIY SOS team will be coming to Scotland and that they have asked for Glaswegian volunteers. The appeal read: "We need help from tradespeople, volunteers, and suppliers to transform the home of a local family whose physical and medical circumstances have left them in a house that's unsuitable for their complex needs. "Join Nick and the team and become a part of this unique building event. "We'll keep you going with three meals a day and as much tea as you can drink, and together we will deliver a life-changing build for a very deserving family while making one of the most loved shows on TV." The trade briefing for the project in East Renfrewshire took place on Wednesday, May 28, with the build dates set for June 11 to 18. The reveal date is scheduled for June 19.

British man travels to Canada and is left stunned after spotting huge difference

A British man who travelled to Canada to see his partner was left gobsmacked after spotting a 'mad' difference in houses when driving to her house - but some locals say he's got the wrong idea A Brit who recently travelled to Canada to visit his partner has shared his shocked at a significant difference between the two countries that he can't get his head around. Rayhaan, a man from the UK, took to social media to document his trip to Canada as he visited his wife in the Toronto area for the first time. While it's normal to experience cultural shocks and differences when travelling abroad, and especially when staying with locals, Rayhaan's first cultural shock came during the car ride to his wife's home, where he was baffled by one major dissimilarity to UK houses. ‌ "F**k me are these not mansions?" exclaimed Rayhaan at the beginning of his video, which has since racked up over 1.4 million views on his TikTok account. ‌ The footage showed them driving through a neighbourhood filled with several large detached houses, each appearing to be spacious two or three-storey homes with integrated garages. "That's a mansion in England. Then, oh, another mansion. You're telling me these ain't mansions?" he questioned his partner, who was behind the wheel. Despite her dismissing his thoughts that the properties were mansions, he said: "What do you mean no? Look at the state of these houses. You're telling me they ain't mansions? [...] F**king hell. Mansion ones." As they continued to drive past through the neighbourhood, they continued to pass several similar houses that were all large detached homes with built in single or double garages, multiple storages, and included a large driveway and front gardens. Some homes also had porches that wrapped around the side of the home. ‌ 'This is a madness, I'm telling you, yeah. The houses here are insane," Rayhaan told his viewers. "I just can't get over it. This is just f**ked, it's just stupid. It's absolutely stupid. What is going on bro?" "I don't know why she'd come to England," he said. Viewers quickly took to the comment section to share their thoughts, with many telling Rayhaan that these home were in fact not 'common' Canadian homes. ‌ "I'm Canadian, NOT standard houses, those people are wealthy," one viewer insisted, while another said: "Those are definitely NOT average middle class houses." Another viewer wrote: "They're priced like mansions now so let's just call them mansions and be done with it,". A fellow Brit also shared his thoughts as he wrote: "As a British man in Canada I can confirm this is true... but after living here for five years it's sad to say that these are just average homes with million $ price tags which is ridiculous and what makes it worse is that these homes are made out of cardboard literally not even worth that much at max they should be $350 K.." Another Brit claimed: "In South England they build a house like that, divide it into 4 terraced houses and sell them for 400k each."
