Sardine Run 2025: Netters and anglers gather at Scottburgh beach
Scottburgh beach seems to be the best place to be this weekend for sardine netters and fishermen.
There have been reports of dolphins, whales and the popular little silver fish in the area.
Sardines were netted in Scottburgh earlier today, and beachgoers are hopeful that there will be even more action throughout the day.
There have also been reports of netting in Umkomaas.

Fiston Mayele to leave Pyramids, Kaizer Chiefs to pounce?
Kaizer Chiefs target Fiston Mayele could leave Pyramids after heloing the Egyptian club to their first CAF Champions League title. The 30-year-old striker shared a heartfelt farewell message on social media, which indicated his departure. He played an instrumental role in helping Pyramids win the Champions League where he scored in the semi-final and also the final. 'Two seasons with Pyramids, 41 goals in all competitions. Thank you very much to the whole team and thanks to all these people for their help in everything, Alhamdulillah,' Mayele shared on Instagram. According to Soccer Laduma , Pyramids are looking to offer Mayele with a two-year contract offer which is reportedly close to US$3 million (approximately R53 million). 'The only way Mayele can join Kaizer Chiefs is if the player himself wants to reunite with coach Nasreddine Nabi,' a source told the publication. 'It won't be because of money. Pyramids FC are offering him enough money to stay at the club or sell him to a club that can offer more money than Kaizer Chiefs. Chiefs are believed to be offering around a R5 million signing on fee to be spread in three seasons and a monthly salary of between R1 million and up to R1.5 million. So it's kind of difficult for Chiefs to sign him if it's all about money only. Unless the player himself loves to come and play for the club,' the insider said. If Mayele leaves Pyramids, he might be an option for Kaizer Chiefs but his wages might be too high.
