You Deserve Each Other: Everything To Know About The Upcoming Film Adaptation

Was it just us, or did anyone find Meghann Fahy and Penn Badgley's flirting/arguing on Instagram a little bit strange? Well, it turns out there was a reason for it. The duo are set to star in the upcoming film adaptation of Sarah Hogle's 2020 comedy romance novel You Deserve Each Other .
And apparently this isn't the first time the pair have acted together… Eagle-eyed fans of Meghann Fahy – who's currently dating her White Lotus co-star Leo Woodall – have realised that she briefly starred as Devyn in Gossip Girl back in the day.
We last saw Meghann Fahy on our screens in the Netflix hit Sirens ©Netflix
The novel tells the story of Naomi and Nicholas. To any observer Naomi and Nicholas are the perfect couple, but despite the fact that their wedding is coming up in three short months neither of them are keen to actually make it down the aisle. Cue a series of comical, dramatic and emotional shenanigans as they both attempt to get the other to back out of the wedding and thus bear the brunt of the wedding bill.
The reviews of the novel were pretty positive and You Deserve Each Other was nominated for two Goodreads Choice Awards: Best Romance and Best Debut. Author Christina Lauren said of the book, 'This book is the perfect dose of sweet, hilarious joy. It's masterful comedy plus tenderness, unique voice plus rich characters. Nicholas! Swoon! We are in love.'
Other than Meghann Fahy as Naomi and Penn Badgley as Nicholas we don't know much about the cast.
Safe to say fans are pretty happy with the cast list so far though. One person took to social media to write, 'Talk about a dream cast! Can't wait to see them shine together on screen,' while another said, 'THIS IS EVERYTHING I'VE EVER WANTED.'
It has also been confirmed that Marc Silverstein and Abby Kohn aka the geniuses behind Never Been Kissed and He's Just Not That Into You are set to direct the feature length film, which they also had a hand in helping write.

Unfortunately filming hasn't even started yet so we're in for a bit of a wait.
As Amazon MGM are the production company behind the rom-com it'll likely be available to watch on Amazon Prime, but it might also get a theatrical release in cinemas.

The majority of women who get it are over 50, but younger women and, in rare cases, men can also get breast cancer. If it's treated early enough, breast cancer can be prevented from spreading to other parts of the body. Breast cancer can have a number of symptoms, but the first noticeable symptom is usually a lump or area of thickened breast tissue. Most breast lumps aren't cancerous, but it's always best to have them checked by your doctor. You should also speak to your GP if you notice any of the following: a change in the size or shape of one or both breasts discharge from either of your nipples (which may be streaked with blood) a lump or swelling in either of your armpits dimpling on the skin of your breasts a rash on or around your nipple a change in the appearance of your nipple, such as becoming sunken into your breast Source: NHS Honey Mitchell actress Emma Barton wrote: "Love you so much, you beautiful, strong, mental, brave lady… You're frigging Ace!!!" Soap fans know her as Walford's Eve, but Heather also has another job away from our TV screens. The star is also a singer and has released five albums. Heather regularly performs up and down the country and treats her Instagram followers to snippets of her gigs. The talented artist can play guitar and piano and performs with a band at live concerts. Heather got her first taste of music success in 2000 when her London's Burning character sang Bette Midler song The Rose, which was released and reached no. 58 in the UK charts. She has since released five albums, the last of which was 2018's Hey Mayhem. The Bradford born star, who also played Nikki Boston in Waterloo Road, joined EastEnders as Eve in October 2021. Stacey Slater's former cellmate and wife has been a regular in the soap ever since, most recently marrying second wife Suki Panesar.

Diana Vickers reveals the best sex advice she's ever been given

Diana Vickers is no stranger to a reinvention. Since charming the nation on The X Factor in 2008, she's made her mark in music, theatre, and comedy. Now, she's taking on the world of podcasting with Just Between Us in collaboration with Metro – a no-filter, sex-positive agony-aunt style show which launched earlier this week. The concept? Each week, Diana and her co-host, Metro's Alice Giddings, a bona fide sex expert ('a sexpert!' as Diana gleefully puts it), take calls from listeners navigating everything from threesomes and sex parties to cheating scandals and bedroom blips. And while Alice brings the expert insight, Diana brings the chaos and the laughs. 'Alice already works at Metro, she's fabulous and she really knows her stuff,' Diana explains. 'She's the sexpert and I guess I'm the one who doesn't really know what the hell's going on. I'm more the messy one—I just react. My advice might not always be the best… so I'm sorry!' she laughs. But between the giggles, Diana admits the stakes can feel high when real people are involved: 'It's definitely a lot of pressure,' she says. 'You're giving advice that could actually affect someone's life. I think I'm quite good at it, but I'm always like, 'If I mess this up, please don't come for me.'' Still, Diana sees the podcast as a space for honesty and solidarity: 'Dating right now is such a nightmare. It's exhausting. Hinge, Raya, all of it… it's just a mess. So I think the podcast will actually be a comfort for a lot of people. You hear someone going through absolute madness and you're like, 'OK, it's not just me who's losing the plot over some f**kboy.'' That blend of empathy and entertainment is already proving effective. The first episode features a jaw-dropping story of a woman who found a condom in her boyfriend's bed – despite their agreement to be exclusive. She's definitely not sugar-coating the current state of modern dating: 'I do think it's an absolute nightmare at the moment,' she says. 'With Hinge and dating apps, there are so many possibilities, and people get really, really bored and ghost people. And I mean, to be honest, I've taken a little break off the apps because I'm knackered.' Even Raya, the exclusive dating app for creatives, has lost its appeal. 'Raya is a weird one,' Diana admits. 'I've actually connected with a few people that I already knew and then we cemented that friendship… But I think mostly it's a place for hookups, like, nothing serious.' One guy even messaged her on Instagram asking why she hadn't matched with him. 'I thought he looked quite nice, normal guy, so I matched with him. And then he just turned out to be a bit of a dick. Kind of put me off it.' Diana's particularly passionate about breaking down shame around female sexuality. 'There's still a stigma,' she says. 'Men watch porn and think sex is done like that—but female pleasure is more complex. I think it's really important to talk about it, to be direct, to tell people what you want. I'm quite bossy in that way, and I think that's the best sex advice I've ever been given – just be honest. And if he doesn't like it? Sod him.' More Trending While Just Between Us might be Diana's newest outlet, she's far from done with the rest. She recently starred in Just For One Day, a musical about Live Aid, and has a TV appearance and a secret stage project lined up for later this year. She's also dipped back into music after a break, writing what she calls 'super gay, super fun songs for the gays and the girlies'. Still, it's clear that the podcast has struck a special chord. 'I absolutely love talking about sex and relationships, especially from a woman's perspective. I'm such an advocate for women being able to express themselves openly.' Got a story? The Sandman remains brilliant, but Neil Gaiman's involvement casts a shadow

The second series of Netflix's adaptation of cult graphic novel The Sandman is a brilliantly surreal, escapist fantasy that has all the makings of a substantial hit – or at least it would if its creator, Neil Gaiman, hadn't been cancelled last year. Gaiman for decades positioned himself as a card-carrying male feminist and ally of trans and gay people. It was as much part of his brand as The Sandman, which tells the story of Morpheus, the moody lord of dreams (based in equal measures on a young Gaiman and top goth Robert Smith of The Cure). But he has gone from nerd hero to villain and cautionary tale after a number of women accused him of abusive and coercive behaviour. He has rejected the allegations, saying he 'never engaged in non-consensual sexual activity with anyone'. Yet despite those denials, his career is effectively over. And with it, The Sandman, which Netflix is bringing to a premature close after a truncated two seasons. In terms of damage limitation, the decision is a no-brainer. That said, this fantastically unconventional and sumptuously crafted show surely deserves better, with just two (and a bit) of the 10 original graphic novels adapted. 'I'd be crazy to say it wasn't weird,' is how producer David S Goyer characterised the experience of working on The Sandman as the allegations surfaced. He was careful to add that Gaiman wasn't as heavily immersed in the production as in series one. His lack of involvement is no loss as the story picks up the tale of Morpheus, aka Dream – played with sublime solemnity by Tom Sturridge. He is one of the family of 'Endless' who embody various elements of the human experience. The Sandman has already introduced Mason Alexander Park as Desire and Kirby Howell-Baptiste as Death (a fan favourite, in part inspired by Gaiman's friend, singer Tori Amos). This time, Morpheus catches up with Delirium (a brilliantly brittle Esmé Creed-Miles, daughter of Samantha Morton) and the mysterious black sheep of the clan (Barry Sloane). Jenna Coleman is back, too, as Joanna Constantine – a paranormal investigator from Elizabethan England. Ruairi O'Connor, meanwhile, has a small but crucial part as a close relative of Morpheus with a tendency to lose his head. There are also fun cameos by Steve Coogan, Freddie Fox, Sanjeev Bhaskar, Stephen Fry and Jack Gleeson, aka wicked Prince Joffrey from Game of Thrones. Goyer – and Gaiman, to the extent he was involved – have done a great job of transposing to the screen the stream-of-consciousness tone of the comic books (as per Netflix's custom, the season is divided into two with the final four episodes arriving on July 24). Taking a sort of free-jazz approach to storytelling, The Sandman graphic novels don't have a plot so much as a vibe. In a fitting reflection of the subject matter, they follow a charming dream logic as Morpheus travels the cosmos, embarking on many unusual adventures. These include a run-in with Shakespeare (it turns out Morpheus inspired A Midsummer Night's Dream) and an awkward encounter with a bored Lucifer (Gwendoline Christie). The Sandman isn't for everyone. This is hardcore geek material – portentous, pretentious and not big on humour. If you enjoy a good cosy crime binge watch then avoid. Especially the bit where a demon has sex with a giant spider lady. However, even people who like this kind of thing may be conflicted, given the backlash against Gaiman. Though wonderfully made and acted, the allegations against the show's creator have robbed The Sandman of a great deal of its lustre. It's a shame the adaptation is over almost before it began. But for Netflix, you suspect this dreamy tale has become a waking nightmare that can't end too soon.
