Victory Lap: Fred Again needs to give Hanumankind a proper verse, listen to the song before Instagram ruins it

Indian Express10-07-2025
After Ed Sheeran and Arijit Singh sang their way into the hearts of millions of people worldwide with 'Sapphire'', the music gods have blessed us again, and this time they have done that through producer and DJ Fred Again, who basically just called everyone on his contact list and made a song that is already taking the world by storm within just 24 hours of its release. The DJ dropped two tracks on Spotify titled 'Victory Lap' pt. 1 and 2, and while the overall structure and instrumentation of both tracks are the same, the second part leaves nothing to one's imagination with electrifying verses from some of the biggest names in the industry, including a single-bar cameo from Hanumankind.
Hard-hitting hi-hats and snares along with a bass track (which is more addicting than whatever Eric Clapton was consuming back in the 70s) almost creep up on you layer by layer, as Doechii kicks things off with a 'hook'-like verse which later becomes the bridge between different sections performed by other artistes. As soon as you start bopping your head, trying to keep up with the instrumental along with Doechii's crisp delivery, which seems to suit her more than some of her slower and profound tracks, British rapper Skepta enters the booth with bars that make you wonder whether he is rapping to save his life. The grime rapper references everything from podcast hosts Wallo and Gillie to Hugo Boss and Patrick Bateman from the movie American Psycho before he lays the ball up for Denzel Curry to completely slam it home 6 ways to Sunday.

If some of you have forgotten who Denzel is or what he is capable of, he was the one responsible for millions of memes and vines that were created on his track 'Ultimate'. Since then, he has been putting in the work and dropping quality projects, along with performing impressive covers of rock bands such as Rage Against The Machine. Curry goes deep in his arsenal, and after skirting with the speed limit of the track, switches to half-time delivery, which adds another impressive layer to the already engaging song by giving a breather, which doesn't take away from the pace of the track but still allows you to sit back and take it all in. Curry transitions into a bridge after that, with Doechii finishing things off with her hook of the song.
Just before the curtain closes, though, you can hear a single line sung by a pretty familiar voice, as Hanumankind closes the song with a single bar. One can only hope that this is some kind of a hint that Fred and Hanumankind are planning to work on a project together in the future, and if this hip-hop-heavy track was any kind of indication, the audience is in for a real treat.

Ozzy Osbourne revealed how he wanted to be remembered amid debilitating Parkinson's and spinal injuries before death

Ozzy Osbourne, frontman of the legendary Black Sabbath and one of metal's most iconic figures, passed away on July 22, 2025. He was 76. His family confirmed the news, saying he died peacefully, surrounded by loved ones. The Prince of Darkness had been battling severe health issues for years. Born in December 1948 in Aston, Birmingham, Ozzy grew up with ADHD and dyslexia, but music became his escape. And now, he leaves behind an irreplaceable void in the industry. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee, and Louis have requested privacy during this time. 'It is with more sadness than words can convey that we report the passing of our beloved Ozzy Osbourne this morning,' read the statement from his family. In a 2020 interview with People, Ozzy, who had been quietly living with Parkinson's for over 15 years, opened up about the fight he never stopped fighting. Alongside long-term damage from a brutal ATV crash in 2003 and multiple spinal injuries, the then-73-year-old said, 'Survival is my legacy.' He wasn't done. 'If people still want to see me and buy my music, why should I quit? That motivates me,' he said. 'I mean, if my career had gone down the toilet and I knew it was the end, I'd be pretty miserable.' The five-time Grammy winner hoped his legacy would carry weight after he was gone: 'Never give up. If you've got a passion for something, you've got to find a way around it to carry on the passion.' Also read: Ozzy Osbourne, iconic Black Sabbath frontman and British heavy metal pioneer, dies at 76 For Ozzy, being remembered, even if not for his history-making success, just as a singer, a metal icon, was enough. 'I'd like to be remembered for the work I did with Black Sabbath. I'm so proud of the music. But to be honest, just being remembered would be an achievement to me,' he told The Guardian in 2020. 'I'm just a working-class guy from Aston,' he said. 'People pay £200 to sleep in the room I grew up in. I've made people smile. I've also made them go, 'Who the f*** does this guy think he is?' But I've got no complaints. At least I'll be remembered.' In 2022, after undergoing major neck surgery, one he called 'life-altering', Ozzy hoped it would fix what left him barely able to walk. The surgery gave him a ray of hope; he could finally hold his head high again. He even hit the stage for an NFL halftime show that year. But by 2023, the writing was on the wall. He stopped touring: 'Never imagined it would end this way,' he wrote while cancelling his tour. Later that year, he admitted he probably had '10 years left' and bowed out of performing altogether. And then, somehow in 2025, he made a comeback. On July 5, Ozzy reunited with Black Sabbath for one final fundraising gig in Birmingham, raising $190 million for Parkinson's research and children's hospitals. Back in 1968, Ozzy co-founded Black Sabbath with Tony Iommi, Bill Ward, and Geezer Butler. They went all in on heavy metal. But by 1979, the drugs and alcohol caught up, and he got fired. What followed was the second act, a massive solo career, thanks in large part to his wife and manager, Sharon Osbourne. Married in 1982, the two rolled out 13 solo albums and turned Ozzy into a household name. He later rejoined Sabbath for reunion tours, and the band was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2006.

Ahaan Panday Mimics Ranbir Kapoor In Viral Video; Fans Dub Him 'Bollywood's Next Superstar'

Before stepping into films, Ahaan Panday had gained popularity on Dubsmash, where he recreated famous Bollywood scenes. Ahaan Panday is enjoying a dream start in Bollywood with his debut film Saiyaara turning out to be a blockbuster. The Mohit Suri directorial, co-starring Aneet Padda, has already smashed several box office records within days of its release. As the spotlight firmly rests on the industry's newest heartthrob, fans are drawing comparisons between Ahaan and Bollywood superstar Ranbir Kapoor. Interestingly, this comparison isn't entirely new. Before stepping into films, Ahaan Panday had gained popularity on Dubsmash, where he recreated famous Bollywood scenes. Some of his most viral clips were inspired by Ranbir Kapoor's films. From mouthing the lyrics of Channa Mereya to dancing on Bachna Ae Haseeno and Dilliwaali Girlfriend, Ahaan seemed to be an unabashed Ranbir fan in those early videos. One clip even sees him performing the intense dialogue from Rockstar, and fans are now sharing these snippets on social media with the caption 'Ranbir 2.0". In fact, many netizens are convinced that Ahaan's screen presence and charm mirror a young Ranbir Kapoor. One user wrote, 'He's got the Ranbir vibe. Raw, emotional, effortless." Knew #AhaanPanday was destined for greatness when I found out he was a fan of #RanbirKapoor — RKᵃ (@seeuatthemovie) July 21, 2025 Another video that's gone viral again is Ahaan lip-syncing Shah Rukh Khan's iconic monologue from Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. While some fans praised his performance, the clip had earlier been trolled when it surfaced two years ago on Reddit. However, the conversation around it has now shifted, with many admiring how far he has come from social media skits to big-screen success. In 2025, after three years of preparation and training under the Yash Raj Films banner, Ahaan finally made his acting debut. Saiyaara, produced by YRF and directed by Mohit Suri, has been met with immense love from the audience. The music, especially the title track, has contributed significantly to the film's appeal. As old videos of Ahaan flood social media once more, fans seem to agree on one thing, Bollywood has found its next big romantic hero. Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
