Sarah Jessica Parker explains the massive hat she wore that went viral in And Just Like That Season 3 premiere
Sarah Jessica Parker 's Carrie Bradshaw was seen wearing a massive 'cloud hat' designed by Maryam Keyhani, which many fans discussed on social media.
Many compared it to the huge hat worn by the beloved animated character Strawberry Shortcake while many others were just confused.
As it turns out, it was Parker, 60, herself who chose the hat, as she revealed in a new interview with USA Today.
'I saw the hat and wanted it on my head. At this point, there's no pretend dilly-dallying around,' Parker admitted.
'We pretty much just put stuff on my head and photograph it, and hope that (creator) Michael Patrick (King) is hospitable to the idea,' she added.
As it turns out, it was Parker, 60, herself who chose the hat, as she revealed in a new interview with USA Today
The scene featured Carrie walking through Washington Square Park with her friend Seema (Sarita Choudhury), also donning an Ossie Clark brown, pink and white dress that she said reminded her of neapolitan ice cream.
She said the dress would feel 'incomplete' without a hat, adding, 'once you've put a lot of hats on your head, you feel like it's missing its punctuation point.'
'So there was that hat. It was going to be a lovely summer day, and it just felt like the period at the end of the sentence. I loved it and (King) agreed,' she said.
Parker also joked of King, 'I feel we've really worn him down. His eyes have adapted to large-scale things on heads now, so he's pretty generous about how often they can appear.'
King refers to the hat as, 'the Hindenburg hot-air balloon,' adding it felt like a bold choice to kick off a new season.
'It's like, "Hey, everybody, we're back! Here's a hat that Carrie would wear eating sherbet in Washington Square Park. Why not?"' King joked.
'I've learned over the years that sometimes logic is not as good as a hat. It makes people say, "I love it. I hate it. Oh, my God, what was she thinking?"' he added.
'It'll be a meme. It'll be a thing. People will wear it at Halloween. It's always fun, but with that (hat) particularly, I had to call up some of the writers and say, "Get ready. Once it's on the head, it's not coming off,"' he joked.
Fans were quick to chime in with their thoughts on the ludicrous hat, with one adding, 'I can get behind the wildest of Carrie's fashion choices but this duvet cover of a hat is truly unhinged.'
'I love the show but someone needs to call the fashion police on Carrie's hat lol!' said another fan.
'I know nothing about fashion, but what is this hat Carrie is wearing?' another fan quipped.
'What's happening here...' someone else wondered.
'Are we all seeing this, is this a joke, what is happening?' another said.
'I'm sorry, but what was that hat? I feel ill.'
'2 things I could've done without on the 1st episode of Season 3... This hat and Rosie O'Donnell.'

Stock up on tuna sandwiches: the Fast and Furious arcade game's coming to consoles
Gaming Big on family, less big on realism Skip 1 photos in the image carousel and continue reading Here are a few things you're guaranteed to have seen if you've been in an arcade lately: a Minions plushy that's redeemable for 500 million tokens, a spilled Tango Ice Blast, and, most ubiquitous of all, the Fast and Furious arcade game. The good news for anyone averse to two of three of those sights? They're bringing that racer to consoles. Originally developed by Raw Thrills (who also made the Jurassic Park lightgun arcade game) and ported over Nintendo Switch, PlayStation5, and Xbox Series X|S, Fast and Furious Arcade Edition is… definitely not going to cause iRacing to lose any sleep. Think wildly unrealistic handling physics, constant nitro boosting, and tracks where explosions are as common as tarmac. Advertisement - Page continues below If you think we're exaggerating, have a watch of this announcement trailer, and keep an eye on the ratio of cars pinwheeling through the air to cars driving on roads. It's not totally ungrounded vehicular action, though. When it comes to the cars themselves, real models include the Dodge Charger, Corvette Z06, Shelby GT500 KR, Ford GT, Bronco DR, Jeep Wrangler, and more. You might like Interestingly, while local split-screen multiplayer is mentioned in the announcement info, there's no talk of online play. That makes sense in a way – the original arcade version is played in adjacent (worryingly sticky) driving booths so it's a faithful recreation of that experience. That said, this being the year 2025, we'd have expected it to take advantage of the information superhighway for its multiplayer offering too. There's some visual customisation on the cards, along with bonus challenges between the race events 'like stopping a missile in the Swiss Alps or grounding a plane in Hong Kong'. Fast and Furious doing Fast and Furious things, then. Advertisement - Page continues below The game's due for release on 24 October. You've got until then to work up the courage to give yourself that buzz cut and practice saying 'family' over and over and over again in the mirror. Thank you for subscribing to our newsletter. Fans accuse Taylor Swift of ripping off Kylie Minogue's Showgirl: The Greatest Hits era with her new album cover
Taylor Swift sent Swifties around the world into a meltdown when she unveiled the cover of her new album, The Life Of A Showgirl, on Wednesday. But some are now accusing the American star, 35, of copying iconic pop queen Kylie Minogue 's Showgirl: The Greatest Hits era. The Aussie icon commenced her Showgirl world tour in 2005 with performances in Europe before travelling to her native Melbourne, where she was diagnosed with breast cancer, causing her to postpone the remaining dates. Several fans flocked to social media to claim Taylor ripped off Kylie's showgirl look by posing in feathers and a gem-encrusted outfit. 'Kylie is the one and only showgirl! No shade to Taylor but Kylie is the ultimate,' one person wrote on Instagram. 'There's only one Showgirl and that's Kylie!!' another commented while a third person agreed: 'There is only one Showgirl and that's our Kylie.' 'Queen of the Showgirls,' one person wrote as another added: 'The OG showgirl. Still showing the girls how to do it.' Despite some backlash, others rushed to Taylor's defence and insisted that more than one showgirl can exist. 'So is 'showgirl' only reserved for Kylie or what? Don't get me wrong as I am a fan of both Kylie and Taylor... Was just wondering,' one commented. 'These comments dragging Taylor are exhausting. Kylie is one of my faves but how about we stop pitting women against each other?' a second said. 'Kylie and Taylor should do a collab,' another suggested. It comes after Taylor unveiled first-look images of her jaw-dropping upcoming album artwork to accompany her new record, The Life Of A Showgirl. The 14-time Grammy Award-winning singer, 35, looked nothing short of sensational in a skimpy feathered outfits, which were shared alongside the album announcement. Taylor first dropped the news about her 12th studio album earlier this week while teasing her upcoming appearance on boyfriend Travis Kelce's New Heights podcast. On Wednesday, just as her New Heights episode premiered, the Red singer revealed the official album cover for The Life Of A Showgirl. She confirmed that the album will be released on October 3 — just over a year and a half after the release of her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department. In the new album artwork, Taylor sizzled in racy gem-encrusted outfits fit for the stage as she posed in a theatre. Keeping in the showgirl theme, Taylor wore a huge 1920s-themed feathered headpiece and dazzling bodysuit as she gazed away from the camera.

Kelly Ripa slams Live viewers who are 'offended' when she talks about very intimate item
Kelly Ripa slammed viewers who were left 'offended' when she discussed an intimate item on the latest episode of Live With Kelly And Mark. The 54-year-old TV personality - who was joined by co-host and husband Mark Consuelos - opened up about the topic of bras on Wednesday's episode of the morning talk show. It comes shortly after it was revealed why the couple separately missed multiple days of filming episodes. 'Bras! Bras, everyone,' she announced to the live audience at one point. 'Bras are older than you think. And I don't mean just my bra. I mean bras.' Mark then chimed in to ask his wife what the 'average age' of her bras are, which prompted Kelly to admit, 'Thousands of years. I mean, my bras last forever because they don't get a big workout.' She humorously continued, 'I'm not asking a lot of them, if you know what I'm saying. You know what I mean? Basically, I wear a bra to hold my microphone on. 'Bras! Bras, everyone,' she announced to the live audience at one point. 'Bras are older than you think. And I don't mean just my bra. I mean bras' 'That is why I wear a bra, not to hold anything else, because there's nothing else there.' Kelly then added to the laughing crowd, 'And I don't care if you're offended. Shut it.' The star further explained, 'That is why I wear a bra, just to put a microphone on. So, I don't ask a lot.' Mark kept the conversation going by telling the talk show host, 'I used to like the ones that had the little snaps in the front.' Kelly let out a laugh of her own as she turned towards her husband and playfully tapped his arm before saying, 'Yeah.' She also confessed to the audience that Mark 'was very good' when it came to handling those bra styles. 'I was so impressed,' Kelly said. 'I was like "Wow. And I mean this guy knows his way around a bra."' The Riverdale actor then compared the bras she wears today to 'tank tops.' The discussion began to wind down to a close when she told some history about bras and how the intimate pieces rake in $90 billion in sales annually. 'I keep thinking - 'cause I buy a lot of bras - not that I ever wear them, I just buy them,' Kelly said. 'Cause I'm like, "This one will change my life." And it just sits in the plastic bag it came in.' The star has previously opened up about going to consultations to possibly get a breast augmentation, but has chosen to not undergo the procedure. During an appearance on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast last month in July, she expressed, 'I have no boobs.' Kelly continued, 'We know that I'm flat-chested. It's not a mystery at this point. I've gone to more breast augmentation consults than I would like to admit. Every time I hear about the new boob guy, I go and I have a consult.' However, the star explained that she has heard about 'so many horror stories of boob jobs' on her phone through social media. But earlier this year in February, Kelly revealed that she was interested in getting a 'mini facelift' in the future. During an episode of her Let's Talk Off Camera podcast at the time, she also expressed that she gets Botox injections 'three times a year.' She said, 'I'm a minimalist…I do the crow's feet and I do the neck and that's it. I do it now three times a year.' Kelly began hosting with her husband Mark on Live back in 2023 when the actor replaced her former co-host Ryan Seacrest. However, the pair recently had separate absences on the morning talk show - with the very simple reason now revealed. Kelly embarked on a summer trip, leaving her husband to be joined by guest co-hosts such as Jenna Dewan. But Mark was also missing from a few recent episodes, which Kelly explained was due to the actor 'working on a show out in LA.' The couple tied the knot in 1996 and are parents to three children: Michael, 28, Lola, 24, and Joaquin, 22. 'We don't really see each other very much, believe it or not,' Kelly told E! News last month in July. 'It just seems that way because when you see us, we're on TV together. But we're not really that.' She added, 'We work together in the morning, and then we really have very separate schedules and very separate lives. Our interests outside of our talk show in the morning are really quite different from each other.' However, the star explained, 'We do come together at night. We have a nice dinner, a nice meal together.'
