Kelly Ripa slams Live viewers who are 'offended' when she talks about very intimate item
The 54-year-old TV personality - who was joined by co-host and husband Mark Consuelos - opened up about the topic of bras on Wednesday's episode of the morning talk show.
It comes shortly after it was revealed why the couple separately missed multiple days of filming episodes.
'Bras! Bras, everyone,' she announced to the live audience at one point. 'Bras are older than you think. And I don't mean just my bra. I mean bras.'
Mark then chimed in to ask his wife what the 'average age' of her bras are, which prompted Kelly to admit, 'Thousands of years. I mean, my bras last forever because they don't get a big workout.'
She humorously continued, 'I'm not asking a lot of them, if you know what I'm saying. You know what I mean? Basically, I wear a bra to hold my microphone on.
'Bras! Bras, everyone,' she announced to the live audience at one point. 'Bras are older than you think. And I don't mean just my bra. I mean bras'
'That is why I wear a bra, not to hold anything else, because there's nothing else there.'
Kelly then added to the laughing crowd, 'And I don't care if you're offended. Shut it.'
The star further explained, 'That is why I wear a bra, just to put a microphone on. So, I don't ask a lot.'
Mark kept the conversation going by telling the talk show host, 'I used to like the ones that had the little snaps in the front.'
Kelly let out a laugh of her own as she turned towards her husband and playfully tapped his arm before saying, 'Yeah.'
She also confessed to the audience that Mark 'was very good' when it came to handling those bra styles.
'I was so impressed,' Kelly said. 'I was like "Wow. And I mean this guy knows his way around a bra."' The Riverdale actor then compared the bras she wears today to 'tank tops.'
The discussion began to wind down to a close when she told some history about bras and how the intimate pieces rake in $90 billion in sales annually.
'I keep thinking - 'cause I buy a lot of bras - not that I ever wear them, I just buy them,' Kelly said. 'Cause I'm like, "This one will change my life." And it just sits in the plastic bag it came in.'
The star has previously opened up about going to consultations to possibly get a breast augmentation, but has chosen to not undergo the procedure.
During an appearance on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast last month in July, she expressed, 'I have no boobs.'
Kelly continued, 'We know that I'm flat-chested. It's not a mystery at this point. I've gone to more breast augmentation consults than I would like to admit. Every time I hear about the new boob guy, I go and I have a consult.'
However, the star explained that she has heard about 'so many horror stories of boob jobs' on her phone through social media.
But earlier this year in February, Kelly revealed that she was interested in getting a 'mini facelift' in the future.
During an episode of her Let's Talk Off Camera podcast at the time, she also expressed that she gets Botox injections 'three times a year.'
She said, 'I'm a minimalist…I do the crow's feet and I do the neck and that's it. I do it now three times a year.'
Kelly began hosting with her husband Mark on Live back in 2023 when the actor replaced her former co-host Ryan Seacrest.
However, the pair recently had separate absences on the morning talk show - with the very simple reason now revealed.
Kelly embarked on a summer trip, leaving her husband to be joined by guest co-hosts such as Jenna Dewan.
But Mark was also missing from a few recent episodes, which Kelly explained was due to the actor 'working on a show out in LA.'
The couple tied the knot in 1996 and are parents to three children: Michael, 28, Lola, 24, and Joaquin, 22.
'We don't really see each other very much, believe it or not,' Kelly told E! News last month in July.
'It just seems that way because when you see us, we're on TV together. But we're not really that.'
She added, 'We work together in the morning, and then we really have very separate schedules and very separate lives. Our interests outside of our talk show in the morning are really quite different from each other.'
However, the star explained, 'We do come together at night. We have a nice dinner, a nice meal together.'

Britney Spears' ex-husband Sam Asghari torches Kevin Federline over new tell-all book
Britney Spears ' ex-husband Sam Asghari had some choice words about Kevin Federline's upcoming memoir, titled You Thought You Knew. When TMZ caught up with the 31-year-old actor in Los Angeles on Friday, he shared his thoughts on the forthcoming tell-all. Sam took a swipe at the 47-year-old father-of-six — who shares two sons with Britney, 43 — as he told the outlet, 'Well, he was a professional father so he would be a great... it would be the first book that'll tell you how to be a professional father.' The Iranian-born model seemed to be alluding to the child support payments he received from the pop star. Kevin has had majority custody of Sean, 19, and Jayden, 18, since October 2007. After 17 years, the singer's final $20,000 child support payment to Kevin was made in November 2024. Britney and Kevin were married from 2004-2007, and she went on to tie the knot with Sam in June 2022. The couple separated over one year later in August 2023, and the divorce was finalized in May 2024. Sam is now dating real estate agent Brooke Irvine, with whom he went Instagram official in December 2024. Fans of the Toxic singer used social media to slam Kevin for the 'cash grab' move after after he announced his plans to release his book this fall. He said in a press release that the literary effort will reveal 'extremely intimate and transparent' details about their 'highly publicized marriage.' 'I achieved my biggest dreams, dealt with crushing heartbreak and endured constant ridicule, all while becoming the father my children needed as they experienced non-stop emotional turbulence,' the former backup dancer detailed. One person wrote on Reddit, 'That child support dried up real quick,' while another agreed, 'His timing tells you everything.' But on Saturday, the Fresno, California native seemingly responded to the backlash as he reposted a note of support from Hawaii media personality Ryan Kalei Tsuji. Sharing Kevin's book cover, Ryan wrote, 'I've watched Kevin stay silent while the world picked him apart. I've seen the toll it's taken on him and his family as lies spread unchecked, all while he chose not to defend himself.' Kevin seemingly responded to the backlash as he reposted a note of support from Hawaii media personality Ryan Kalei Tsuji on Saturday The message continued, 'Instead, he poured his energy into being a father, showing up for his kids, giving them stability, and protecting their peace in the middle of chaos.' In addition to his two boys with Britney, Kevin also shares daughter Kori, 23, and son Kaleb, 21, with ex-girlfriend Shar Jackson. He's also raising daughters Jordan, 14, and Peyton, 11, with wife Victoria Prince, whom he wed in 2013. Ryan's note went on, 'This isn't a tell-all meant to wound anyone. It's Kevin finally allowing himself the chance to share his truth after years of being misrepresented. He deserves that. His family deserves that.' The last part of the post read, 'Before you judge, before you assume you already know the story, I encourage you to read with an open mind. 'I've seen firsthand how love and sacrifice [have] provided the stability and normalcy his family deserves.' Kevin's press release read, 'The public unraveling of Britney's life and the constant attention around their family forced Kevin to balance being a father with being a protector.' His memoir will arrive almost exactly two years after Britney published a memoir of her own, The Woman in Me. It hit shelves on October 23, 2023 and contained details about her relationship with ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake as well as her 13-year conservatorship.

Karen Gillan reveals her fear of being a 'low value individual' is what drives her
She has carved out a stellar career in Hollywood, starring with big hitters such as Tom Hanks, Emma Watson, Ryan Gosling, Russell Crowe and Harrison Ford. However, Karen Gillan has revealed her success is driven by a 'fear of being a low value individual'. The insight emerged in an interview published in Photobook Magazine, which also featured a fashion shoot with the former Doctor Who star. The flame-haired Inverness-born actress also admitted that she is often 'riddled with anxiety', and is working on a horror/thriller that she will star in and direct. Ms Gillan, 37, said: 'What motivates me is a combination of genuine passion for what I get to do for a living. I love making films. I absolutely love it. So it's a combination of genuine passion and also a fear of being a low value individual.' She also touched upon another aspect of her personality, saying: 'If I could change one thing about my past, I would tell myself to enjoy myself a little bit more rather than being so riddled with anxiety. But that's more in social settings than anything else.' And, despite starring in box office hits such as Guardians of the Galaxy and Jumanji, when asked to finish a sentence about herself, Ms Gillan said: 'Karen Gillan is strange and silly and scared of being ostracised.' The interview comes after Gillan made her red carpet return in June - her first Hollywood event after giving birth. Ms Gillan appeared at the premiere of her latest movie 'The Life Of Chuck' in her adopted home city of Los Angeles, a science fiction film based on a Stephen King story. In December, Ms Gillan, 37, welcomed baby Clementine with husband Nick Kocher. Her appearance at the screening comes just weeks after she did her first photoshoot since becoming a mum. Posting pictures of herself sitting in a make-up chair, Ms Gillan said in April: 'First day back at work post baby. How do you do photoshoots again?' The Scot shot to fame as Amy Pond alongside Matt Smith's Doctor Who. But since moving across the Atlantic, she has gained fame for her Marvel movie role as alien Nebula.

Mr Chonkers review – you never know what's going to happen next
With his show and persona Mr Chonkers, American clown John Norris scored a cult hit on the fringe three summers ago – and now a booking off comedy's beaten track, at anything-goes alt-theatre hub Summerhall. He'll fit in, because his is a show (seemingly the same one he performed in 2022) that marches to the beat of its own drum. The upside of that? You never know what's going to happen next. The downside: with little by way of theme, narrative or structure, there's not much left to hang on to when the laughs abate. A portion of the audience will be giggling too giddily for that to be an issue: Norris is the kind of act who, if he gets under your skin, doesn't get out again. After a dotty prologue as a faceless monk, he offers us a supposed showcase of his recently acquired performance talents – in poetry, comedy and theatre. With a Janus-faced manner that twins eagerness to please with disciplinarian tendencies, he then serves up a tenuous film star impersonation (that wraps up the comedy section), some verse (including a standout about 'horny wives in your area') and – the bulk of the show, this – a theatrical act-out of a Sicilian family drama. Frustrated he's not getting it right, Norris performs that scene over and again, in (not very) different ways. If you're barely amused by the arresting sight of him, in character as a little Italian boy, retreating his head into his neck, this looping scenario may test your patience. It did mine. There are strong stand-alone sections elsewhere: a none-more-clown sequence about his ever-shrinking headgear; a gestural dumbshow of the apologies we make in company when we're detained by a phone call. Strongest of all is Norris's existential angst as his gig collapses, leaving him exposed to the chill winds of post-show, pining to return to his imaginative world. Whither your self-esteem when you can't even get a performance with no rules right? I cherished this playful glimpse into the jester's abyss, delivered (like everything here) with a wonderful alertness to the moment, albeit in a show that may drive you to distraction as well as delight.
