Taylor Swift Claps Back At Chiefs Fans Who Boo Her

Taylor Swift Claps Back At Chiefs Fans Who Boo Her

Buzz Feeda day ago
We all know this by now: Taylor Swift is appearing on Jason and Travis Kelce's podcast today, Aug. 13, to announce her brand-new album, The Life of a Showgirl. It's all any of us can talk about. I've become insufferable, and I have no regrets. (Not just because I feel like I low-key predicted it, but anyway.)
Well, in case you didn't know, the New Heights podcast is all about sports, particularly football — since, yanno, both hosts are NFL stars. Jason Kelce was on the Philadelphia Eagles, and of course, Travis plays for the Kansas City Chiefs. And in case you've been living under a rock, Taylor and Travis have been dating for almost two years now.
KARMA IS THE GUY ON THE CHIEFSSSSSSS.
So the New Heights podcast's typical audience is mainly sports fans, not Swifties. This is a big switch-up from the type of content they deliver, since the episode is all about Taylor releasing her new album. Some Swifties have expressed disappointment over Taylor choosing to announce her album on their podcast for this reason, while others think it's really sweet.
But the group of people who I suspect may be the most upset with Taylor's New Heights appearance are the sports-fans-slash-Taylor-haters (a group of people who, in my opinion, are just opposed to happiness for whatever reason). Why would they be mad? I guess they just don't like seeing Taylor in sports-centric spaces, and would rather keep the podcast about sports.
I DON'T AGREE WITH THEM, BTW! I'm just trying to rack my brain for reasons people may feel upset by this.
Besides, it was clear the moment Taylor first started appearing at Chiefs games to watch Travis: Some football fans just don't want a whiff of Taylor in the NFL. Even though she's literally just supporting her boyfriend (and Swifties welcomed Travis with open arms at The Eras Tour), Chiefs fans have openly expressed their annoyance with Taylor.
For one, Chiefs fans booed her at the Super Bowl so loudly, she actually reacted. In a video posted to X in February, you can see her widen her eyes and turn to the camera, confused, once she came on the jumbotron and fans started booing her. The clip has since gone viral, since it was a hilarious and innocent reaction to getting a huge amount of senseless hate.
But aside from that small reaction, Taylor hasn't actually responded to the constant hate she receives from football fans. UNTIL NOW. Taylor is smart, and she knew that going on this podcast would probably annoy some sports fans. So she decided to address it in the most perfect way possible.
In a new clip posted by the New Heights podcast teasing the episode, Jason starts by introducing her and summarizing some of her accomplishments — including the numerous awards and records she's broken.
"She is the most awarded artist in the history of the American Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards, and iHeart Radio Music Awards," he says, to which Travis responds, "God dayum." "She has 14 Grammy Awards and is the only artist in the history to win Album of the Year four times. Last December, she wrapped up The Eras Tour, which spanned 149 shows across 51 cities, 5 continents, and was the most attended tour of all time," Jason continued. "Her last album, The Tortured Poets Department, set a record with 1.76 billion streams globally within the first week alone."
Jason wraps up with, "And as a fan of 'that guy on the Chiefs,'" — a reference to Taylor's "Karma" lyric change at The Eras Tour — "she has 19 wins, 2 AFC titles, and a Super Bowl. 92%ers, are you ready for it? Making her podcasting debut, the most requested guest in the history of shows, Taylor Swift!" Can't lie with the stats.
After the intro section, we get a snippet of Taylor speaking on the podcast — and she claps back at those Taylor-hating, spirit-crushing Chiefs fans in a simple, graceful way. "As we all know, you know, you guys have a lot of male sports fans that listen to your podcast," she begins, to which Travis responds, "Yeah."
"And, um, I think we all know that if there's one thing that male sports fans want to see in their spaces and on their screens, it's more of me," she says, looking at the camera with a big smile.
Now, if this isn't an absolutely genius response, I don't know what is. She perfectly addresses it, and adds a sprinkle of humour to (hopefully) help people realize how foolish their hatred is. I'm actually obsessed, and so are my fellow Swifties on the internet:

Kay Adams' Outfit At NFL Team's Practice Grabs Attention

Kay Adams' Outfit At NFL Team's Practice Grabs Attention originally appeared on The Spun. NFL host Kay Adams continued her training camp tour this week with a trip to the Mile High City. Adams has been a fan favorite in the NFL world since her days on "Good Morning Football." After roughly six years with NFL Network, she jumped over to FanDuel TV and started hosting her own show, "Up & Adams." She took her show on the road the moment training camp started in late July. In just the past two weeks, Adams has met with the Cincinnati Bengals, Indianapolis Colts, Jacksonville Jaguars, Kansas City Chiefs, New York Giants, New York Jets, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Washington Commanders. Judging by her latest Instagram post, Adams may have enjoyed her trip to Denver's training camp a bit more than the rest of the competition. Adams shared a photo of her sitting on the Broncos' practice field in a brown dress. Her post included a heartfelt message about Sean Payton's squad. "Thank you @broncos for an unforgettable stop 13 on the @upandadamsshow training camp tour," Adams wrote for her caption. "Lots of smiles around here because they know what they have is special & they're putting in the work. A complete team with mile-high vibes going into 2025." Adams believes this year's Broncos team has the chance to contend for a Super Bowl. She even got Payton to compare this squad to his New Orleans Saints roster from 2009. "There are some similarities," Payton said. "Because here's what happened in 2009. Some veteran free agents arrived in key positions, already with a young, talented draft class. But it wasn't just the veteran additions. It was the juju they brought. It was the leadership. Like, when you're around (Talanoa) Hufanga and (Dre) Greenlaw, they bring something very intentional and very serious, and it's like so the better teams that we've ever been a part of have all taken over and run themselves. And this one can do that." The Broncos will kick off the 2025 season against the Tennessee Titans. Taylor Swift just gave her longest interview ever. Here's what we learned

Taylor Swift is back in the spotlight for the first time since wrapping up her record-breaking Eras Tour last year, and the internet is losing its mind. The pop superstar made her podcast debut on Wednesday, Aug. 13, for an episode of 'New Heights,' hosted by her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, and his brother, retired Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce. 'This podcast got me a boyfriend ever since Travis decided to use it as his personal dating app about two years ago,' Swift quipped, referring to the football player shooting his shot on the show after attending an Eras Tour show in Kansas City. During the nearly two hour-long episode — the Grammy winner's longest interview to date — Swift chatted with the Kelce brothers about everything from her first Chiefs game to post-tour hobbies like sewing, baking and watching football. But for her fans tuning in around the globe, it was what she revealed about her forthcoming studio album, 'The Life of a Showgirl,' that was most exhilarating. Due out Oct. 3, Swift also unveiled her 12th studio album's art and tracklist. Streaming live on YouTube on Wednesday, the episode drew more than 1 million viewers — enough to briefly crash the feed — and set a record for most concurrent views on the platform for a podcast. The story behind how Taylor Swift secured her masters After wrapping up the Eras Tour, the singer said that she and her team decided to approach the private equity firm Shamrock Capital, which owned her masters at the time, about if they'd be willing to sell. 'I'm in the business of human emotion. I would so much rather lead heart-first in something like this, rather than send lawyers or management in a big crew,' she explained. So she deployed her family: 'I sent my mom and my brother, who I work with, to L.A.' Their mission was successful, she confirmed in May, and Swift was able to purchase the rights to her first six albums. She got teary-eyed opening up about the process for the first time on 'New Heights.' 'It's a couple months after the Super Bowl, I'm in Kansas City and I get a call from my mom. … She's like, 'You got your music,'' Swift recalled. 'I just very dramatically hit the floor for real. Honestly started bawling my eyes out, just weeping.' She said she immediately went to tell Travis, who was in the other room playing video games. 'I started crying too,' the Super Bowl champ chimed in. 'You know I'm a crier.' 'The Life of a Showgirl' was written during the Eras Tour During her days off in between three-and-a-half hour concert performances, Swift said she would meet up with collaborators Max Martin and Shellback to work on the new record. She previously worked with the two on '1989,' 'Reputation' and 'Red.' 'I would do like three shows in a row, I'd have three days off, I'd fly to Sweden,' she said, noting that she exclusively made the record in the Scandinavian country. 'I was physically exhausted at this point in the tour, but I was so mentally stimulated and so excited to be creating.' She previously wrote and released her 11th studio album, 'The Tortured Poets Department,' while also on the Eras Tour. The new album reflects the joy in her life 'My main goals were melodies that were so infectious that you're almost angry at it, and lyrics that are just as vivid but crisp and focused and completely intentional,' she said. She added that she and her collaborators specially spoke about preserving the storytelling elements of 2020's 'Folklore. Travis Kelce, who said he has already listened to the full album, teased that the new record is packed with 'upbeat, fun pop.' 'This album is about what was going on behind the scenes in my inner life during this tour,' Swift said. 'It just comes from like the most infectiously joyful, wild, dramatic place I was in in my life, and so that effervescence has come through on this record.' 'The Life of a Showgirl' features only one guest artist Near the end of the interview, Swift showed off the front and back cover of her forthcoming record, reading out the 12-song tracklist as the Kelce brothers reacted. The big surprise: 'Espresso' singer Sabrina Carpenter is featured on the closing title track. The former Disney star previously opened for select dates of Swift's Eras Tour. Other 'The Life of a Showgirl' song titles include 'Elizabeth Taylor,' 'Father Figure' and 'CANCELLED!' There will be no bonus tracks Swifties know that the singer-songwriter has a penchant for treating fans with a variety of surprise material, whether it be the vault tracks off her re-recorded albums or the 31-song edition of 'The Tortured Poets Department,' titled 'The Anthology.' This time around, however, there will be no bonus tracks. 'I tend to love to write lots and lots of music, so it's a temptation to release lots of music,' she admitted. But with 'The Life of a Showgirl', Swift said she 'wanted to do an album that was so focused on quality and on the theme and everything fitting together like a perfect puzzle.' Taylor Swift is in her Sourdough Era Now that her tour is over, Swift is enjoying some rare downtime and rediscovering her hobbies. 'The sourdough's taken over my life in a huge way. I'm really talking about bread 60% of the time,' Swift said. 'There are sourdough blogs. There's a whole community of us.' She added that she's also been sewing baby clothes and blankets for Jason's young children. NFL players and pop stars aren't that different 'On paper, we actually kind of have a very similar job,' Swift said of her and Travis' careers. 'Our job is to entertain people for three-plus hours in NFL stadiums. When I'm there, it's called a dressing room; when Travis is there, it's called a locker room.' She and Travis bonded over their post-game/post-show rituals, with her beau joking that Swift may even do more recovery prep than him.
