Vivo V60 review: Reliable all-rounder with big battery and fresh design
One of the standout features here is the retention of both IP68 and IP69 certifications, making the V60 resistant to dust and water, even under high-pressure jets. Few phones in this price segment offer this combination, and it's a genuine practical advantage.Despite packing a larger 6,500mAh battery, the device remains impressively slim at 7.7mm. It weighs just 201 grams. The curved edges help in grip, while the glass back adds a touch of elegance. Overall, Vivo has managed to make the V60 both robust and comfortable to hold as well as aesthetically pleasing.
Display: Brighter and just as punchyThe display hasn't changed much from the V50. You're still getting a 6.77-inch AMOLED panel with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The pixel density remains 387ppi, which is lower than the older V40's 453ppi, but unless you are pixel-peeping, you won't notice the difference.Vivo has cranked up the peak brightness to 5,000 nits, a noticeable jump from the previous model. HDR content on Netflix and Prime Video pops, with deep blacks and crisp highlights. I watched The Batman movie, which looked especially good, with dark scenes showing proper depth, brightness and explosions delivering that wow factor.Outdoor visibility is solid, with the display remaining legible under direct sunlight. At the other end of the scale, the screen can dim to as low as 2.3 nits, making it comfortable for use in dark environment. The default slightly warm colour tone adds visual comfort for extended viewing. Moreover, Vivo's micro-curved edges on all four sides offer a premium feel while making the display appear larger. However, one quirk remains from the V50: the refresh rate doesn't drop to 60Hz or 90Hz when always-on display is enabled, which could have helped with battery efficiency.Fast performance?advertisementInstead of chasing raw performance, Vivo went with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 for the V60. That puts it behind rivals running the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 or MediaTek Dimensity 9400e in synthetic benchmarks. On AnTuTu, the V60 pulls in around 1 million points compared to 1.4–2 million for its competitors. Geekbench 6 scores tell a similar story — 3,572 multi-core versus 5,000–7,000 with beefier chips. The V60 isn't chasing leaderboard glory. In day-to-day use, it feels responsive and fluid. App launches are quick, scrolling through social media feeds is stutter-free, and switching between multiple apps is smooth. Even with around a dozen apps open in the background, it rarely showed signs of slowing down during testing.
advertisementGaming tells a similar story. Genshin Impact defaults to low graphics at 30fps, which is where the experience is most stable. The game does run on medium graphics, but you will notice occasional frame drops and stutter in fighting scenes. BGMI performs better, comfortably offering a smooth experience with a stable frame rate at the high setting, even after 40 minutes of play.Having said that, thermal management is generally solid. The Vivo V60 mostly stays cool. Even under sustained gaming loads, the back panel got slightly warm, enough to notice but never to the point of discomfort. In our 3D Mark test, the device even received 99 per cent stability score, which is quite impressive to see and not every phone is able to offer that. Overall, you are getting a good all-rounder phone, which can offer reliable day-to-day performance. However, the company is promising to offer support for only 3 years of Android OS updates and 4 years of security updates, which is slightly less than what its rivals are offering. Additionally, the device even comes with some bloatware. You can uninstall most of them but the native apps like iManager, Game Centre and V-Appstore can't be deleted from the phone.advertisementSolid battery lifeBattery performance is where the V60 truly shines. It has a 6,500mAh battery under the hood and it delivered 19 hours and 10 minutes in the PCMark battery test, which is exceptional for its class. In daily use — including browsing, video streaming, a bit of photography, and gaming — the phone comfortably provided up to 11 hours of screen-on time, translating to well over a day of use for most people. Charging speeds remain unchanged from the V50. Vivo has provided support for 90W charging, which takes about 1 hour and 5 minutes to fully charge the device.Good camera? The Vivo V60 can offer you a reliable camera experience and people who like to post a lot on Instagram will likely love using this phone. It offered good shots in daylight, where there is ample light. The dynamic range is balanced most of the time when the sun is out there, but this goes for a toss during the rainy season. The 50-megapixel High-Resolution mode offered better details than the regular photo mode, with sharpness mostly on point. You can't take an ultra-wide shot using the High-Resolution mode, something which we get in several phones in its price range. Never mind, the regular photo mode takes decent photos with enough details, but colours sometimes can be a little muted.advertisementThe Vivo V60 does a great job when it comes to portraits. When there is good light, the device is able to offer beautiful shots of human subjects. Since Vivo is promoting it as a great wedding photography phone, I also clicked a few photos in a similar setup to see how the V60 is able to perform. I have to say, I am pretty impressed with the output. While you can't compare this mid-range phone with DSLR, the portrait shots produced by the V60 are quite good for its price. The face tone, texture of the clothes, hair strands and background blur are well captured. People can also adjust the blur amount later in the gallery, although it is better to click a new photo because sometimes this option doesn't work properly.Click on any photo below to access all the camera samplesVivo phones are known for offering good camera and you can always rely on them for offering solid selfies as well. The output is similar to the portraits taken from the rear camera. Since this phone has support for 2x optical zoom as well, it can offer better detailed shots of close-ups in comparison to the regular photo mode with minimal noise and lively colours. It even offers support for 10x digital zoom, which can offer some good shots of people who are not that far, and you want to take a wider shot of them with enough details and decent dynamic range. Just like every other brand, Vivo has also given the AI eraser option to remove unnecessary objects from a scene.Coming to low-light shots, the device does a fine job. If there is enough light source around the subject, the V60 is able to pull out a decent picture that are usable. However, I also noticed noise in images and a lens flare issue, which could just be a problem with my unit.Vivo V60 review: Should you buy it?If your priorities are a smooth general experience, strong endurance, good camera performance, and peace of mind with IP69-level durability (and you don't care about topping benchmark charts), the Vivo V60 is an easy recommendation under Rs 40,000. Power users and hardcore gamers might want to look at faster phones from brands like Realme and OnePlus. But for everyone else, this is a dependable all-rounder that gets the basics right.- Ends

CouponzGuru's Road to Success: Milestones, Challenges & Global Reach
The world of e-commerce is ever-evolving, where discounts and deals flood our screens daily. Not all the platforms manage to stand out in this ever-evolving world of e-commerce and leave a lasting impact. CouponzGuru, founded in 2011 by Mr. Vikash Khetan, is one such platform that began as a modest venture in India but managed to reach greater heights with just an initial investment of Rs. 25,000. Today, it operates in 6 different countries, which in itself is a great deal. Today, we will take a closer look at the milestones, challenges, and the global footprint that explain the success story of the platform. Building trust in India- 2011 Back in 2011, the Indian e-commerce industry was rising slowly and was not that common among people. While the customers were excited about the whole online shopping concept, however, they were a little worried too. Scams and fake discounts were common concerns of people back then. However, Mr. Khetan understood that the trust of the customers would become his biggest currency. The platform's initial strategy was simple yet effective, which managed to gain the trust of the customers. Listing verified offers on the company's website. Keep a user-friendly interface. Regularly updating deals and coupons. CouponzGuru became a go-to platform for customers looking for genuine savings by simply following these strategies. After all, the trick was to understand consumer behavior. Also, by partnering with major platforms like Amazon, Myntra, Flipkart, and more, CouponzGuru strengthened its position in the Indian market. Once CouponzGuru established a good user base in the Indian market, it was time to understand the international markets as well. Mr. Khetan knew that the trick was to conquer one region at a time. Therefore, the team chose a phased expansion approach, considering the countries where online shopping was still booming. This way, the digitally savvy customers could be approached, and a strong presence could be established in a different country altogether. 2014-Singapore- The first international leap began in Singapore, where the market was heavily dominated by electronics and tech deals. CouponzGuru saw this opportunity and partnered with platforms like Asus, Lenovo, Samsung, and more. 2015- Malaysia- After successful expansion in Singapore, it was time for the Middle East; Malaysia, to be specific. The country's market is dominated by fashion and lifestyle. Thus, capitalizing on Malaysia's rapidly growing e-commerce scene. 2019-UAE- 2019 was the year when the platform expanded in the UAE and gained the trust of the customers by partnering with platforms like Noon, Namshi, and Emirates Airlines. 2020-Philippines- During 2020, the young online shopper base in the Philippines was rising, and CouponzGuru identified this change and offered affordable fashion and electronics deals to cater to them. 2020- USA- USA is one of the most competitive fashion markets in the world. CouponzGuru brought deals to both American and international brands to U.S. shoppers. What Sets CouponzGuru Apart from Its Competitors CouponzGuru started as a small homegrown operation, and expanding into 6 countries is no piece of cake. The success of the platform rests on a few key pillars, which are listed below- The platform made sure that the deals for each country are curated, keeping in mind the shopping behavior of the customers. For instance, electronics rule Singapore; however, luxury and travel shine in the UAE. The platform works directly with the merchants to provide their customers with coupons and deals not available elsewhere. The platform ensures that the coupons and deals listed on the website are all working. Their team updates all the offers daily, removing those that are no longer valid. Regardless of the region or country, the site design remains clean and easy to navigate. No business can flourish without overcoming some obstacles. CouponzGuru's success story indicates that the platform overcame a lot of obstacles along the way. Here are a few challenges that the company had to go through- A lot of big coupon portals were already competing for customers' attention, and so, convincing brands to collaborate with a new platform that had just started was not an easy job. Upon entering the U.S. market, CouponzGuru knew that they were competing with the big names like RetailMeNot and Honey. Therefore, the company solely focused on offering carefully curated deals and coupons. This ensured that they were appealing to the right audience. The Indian market is different from the rest of the world, and so, what works in India might not work for Singapore or the UAE. Therefore, the team had to adapt marketing, customer targeting, and even languages for different countries. The technology keeps changing, and so we should also change with it. CouponzGuru knew it had to change with the change in technology, and therefore, they had to quickly optimize for mobile users, implement faster speeds, and streamline navigation. CouponzGuru's journey doesn't revolve around the fact that it replicates the same strategies in all countries. Instead, the company focuses on regional relevance. India- Massive engagement comes from the biggest sales of the year, including The Great Indian Festival sale and The Big Billion Days sale. Singapore- The highlights are mostly tech-sale events and back-to-school gadgets deals. Malaysia- The maximum traction comes from the fashion and travel category. UAE- The market is dominated by the discounts offered on flights and luxury shopping. Philippines- The key drivers are affordable mobile phones and apparel deals USA- Cyber Monday, Black Friday, and more such sales take the center stage. Recognition and Industry Standing Undoubtedly, by offering the best deals and coupon codes, CouponzGuru has gained recognition in both India and abroad. The platform is now known as one of the best, with repeat users forming a significant part of its traffic. Currently, the platform features more than 3,000 brands, from household names to niche e-commerce startups. CouponzGuru began its journey as a bootstrapped venture with a modest investment of just Rs. 25,000 in 2011. Now it has evolved globally and has spread its wings in 6 different countries. The journey was not an easy one; however, with strong determination and consistency, Mr. Vikash Khetan made it happen. However, the work is not done yet, and there is a lot that the company aims to do. Expand further into the European market. Focusing on emerging markets. A mobile app for a better user interaction. Expanding global partnerships and collaborations. Undoubtedly, CouponzGuru's success story is proof of trust, adaptability, and strategic growth. No matter what the situation was, Mr. Khetan didn't give up on his dream and understood the entire requirements of the Indian as well as the global market. Today, the platform is well-positioned to remain a leader in the online savings space for the times to come. Note to readers: This article is part of Mint's paid consumer connect Initiative.
