
CM Naidu unveils development agenda in Tirupati; vows plastic-free Andhra, clean politics
Addressing the gathering in Tirupati's 'Swarna Andhra-Swachh Andhra' programme, Naidu articulated his vision for 'Swarnandhra Pradesh' (Golden Andhra Pradesh) through 'Swachhandhra Pradesh' (Clean Andhra Pradesh), drawing parallels with Japan's renowned cleanliness culture. The Chief Minister expressed pride in Andhra Pradesh securing five Swachh Survekshan national awards, underscoring the importance of collective responsibility in maintaining cleanliness.
Emphasising promoting reusable items such as steel glasses and raising awareness among government employees to lead by example, he urged citizens to 'chase away the plastic ghost,' promoting recycling and the concept of 'waste not being waste.'
On the occasion, Naidu outlined several ambitious projects aimed at propelling Andhra Pradesh into a new era of development. A 'Quantum Valley' will be established in Amaravati, focusing on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and aiming to make the capital a hub for quantum technology. Additionally, a 'Green Hydrogen Valley' will be established for clean electricity production, leveraging green hydrogen to combat pollution.
Furthermore, a weather information app is slated for launch to provide advanced weather information to the public. By August 15, approximately 700 government services will be accessible through WhatsApp Governance (Mana Mitra), streamlining public interaction with the administration.
The Chief Minister committed to the speedy completion of the Mallemadugu and Balaji Reservoirs. A significant promise was also made to bring Handri-Neeva waters via Kalyani Dam to Tirumala, specifically to the feet of Lord Venkateswara Swamy, and to Tirupati.
Addressing concerns of the populace, Naidu announced that DSC recruitments would be completed by August 20. Furthermore, he confirmed the implementation of free bus travel for women across the State starting August 15, a key promise under his government's 'Super Six' schemes. He also highlighted the successful implementation of the 'Talliki Vandanam' scheme, providing financial support to mothers based on the number of their children.

CM Naidu meets Indian High Commissioner in Singapore, investors
Amaravati, Jul 27 (PTI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, as part of his five-day visit to Singapore, met the Indian High Commissioner and several investors on Sunday and showcased the state's vast potential. He said that Andhra Pradesh is the most suitable destination for global investments, highlighting strengths in the green energy, electronics, ports, logistics and manufacturing sectors. 'Andhra Pradesh offers abundant opportunities for investment across multiple sectors," said Naidu in an official release. The CM held talks with Indian High Commissioner Shilpak Ambule, who shared insights into Singapore's achievements in diverse areas, its robust economic growth and the effective public policies being implemented there. Naidu shared details of the state's newly introduced policies, aimed at attracting investments across various sectors. The state has set an ambitious target of producing 160 gigawatts of green energy, he added. He informed the High Commissioner that green hydrogen projects have already been launched in Visakhapatnam (in partnership with NTPC) and Kakinada. Under the India Quantum Mission, Andhra Pradesh is set to establish the country's 'first-ever Quantum Valley' in Amaravati, said Naidu, adding that global tech leader Google is setting up a data center in Visakhapatnam. Highlighting Andhra's industrial potential, the CM said Rayalaseema is ideal for defence and aerospace units and urged support to make the state a gateway for Singaporean investments. Ambule informed the CM that on several sectors, the Singaporean companies are exploring investment opportunities in Andhra Pradesh, including electronics, semiconductor manufacturing, shipbuilding, port operations, data centers and pharmaceuticals. According to the release, major Asia-Pacific firms headquartered in Singapore, including STT (ST Telemedia)–which specialises in digital infrastructure and data centers and Keppel Corporation–which operates in infrastructure, energy, and urban development have shown interest in investing in Andhra Pradesh. Similarly, Equinix, a global leader in data centers and internet connectivity services and PSA International-a port operating company and logistics firms have shown interest in investing in Andhra Pradesh. The meeting also focused on collaboration in fields such as artificial intelligence, startups, medical device research, and academic partnerships between universities in the southern state and Singapore. Andhra Pradesh Education Minister Nara Lokesh shared plans for expanding higher education institutions while Municipal Minister P Narayana presented state's housing schemes, inspired by Singapore's successful public housing model. Later, Naidu met the representatives from Surbana Jurong, a global urban infrastructure company who has shown interest in investing in Andhra Pradesh and invited them to join large-scale housing projects under the state's 'Housing for All" initiative. The CM explained that the state is focusing on infrastructure development projects and highlighted the development of 20 ports and 15 airports, positioning itself as a logistics hub. Similarly, Eversendai Engineering, a Malaysia-based construction firm, has shown interest in investing in Andhra Pradesh after its chairman Tan Sri Dato' AK Nathan met Naidu. They discussed plans to set up a state-of-the-art manufacturing factory and integrated training center in the state, with Visakhapatnam or Krishnapatnam shortlisted as possible locations. The proposed factory, spread over two lakh square meters, will aid nationwide product distribution, boost industrial growth, and create large-scale employment opportunities across Andhra Pradesh's emerging industrial zones, said the release. Eversendai also expressed interest in Amaravati's infrastructure projects and proposed a structural engineering training center with IIT Tirupati and IIIT Sri City as knowledge partners. Teach Telugu in Singapore schools, says Andhra Pradesh CM Naidu
Singapore, Jul 27 (PTI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday called for Telugu to be taught as second language in Singapore schools and inaugurated a CXO Club, to leverage the expertise of Telugu-origin chief executives of multinational corporations across the world. Naidu, who reached here earlier in the day, is on a five-day official visit to attract investments and strengthen diaspora ties in this prosperous city-state. Singapore has some 40,000 people of Telugu-origin, according to a community leader. Naidu was addressing some 2,000 diaspora members at the One World International School Digital Campus here, when he called for Telugu to be taught in Singapore schools. In addition to Tamil being one of the four official languages in Singapore (the three being Malay, English, and Mandarin), Hindi and Punjabi are among the languages taught in Singapore schools as mother tongue-languages. 'In his speech, Chief Minister Naidu called for Telugu to be taught in Singapore schools. He told me to take up with the Singapore government the issue of Telugu as a second language," Indian High Commissioner Dr Shilpak Ambule told PTI. During Naidu's interaction with people of Telugu-origin and other Indian communities, was also announced a plan to launch of Global Export-Import cell on his return to Andhra Pradesh in all-out efforts to promote entrepreneurship among some 30 lakhs Andhra Pradesh Non-Resident Telugus living across 128 countries, a handout said here. Telugu NRIs remit some Rs 30,000 crore annually to the state, which he said he hopes to see increasing in the coming years. Naidu also shared about his P4 programme which is a 'public private people partnerships' which will have affluent individuals mentoring underprivileged members of the society to improve everybody's living standard, it said. Those who attended the event included Telugu entrepreneurs, company representatives, investors, and professionals from different countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Thailand. The event was organised by the Andhra Pradesh Non-Resident Telugu Society (APNRT). Chandrababu Naidu's Singapore visit strengthens investment prospects for Andhra Pradesh
In a significant step toward deepening international partnerships and boosting foreign investments, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu met Indian High Commissioner to Singapore Shilpak Ambule on the first day of his official visit. The discussions centered on transformative opportunities across sectors such as defence, electronics, aerospace, green energy, and quantum technologies. During the high-level meeting, Mr. Ambule lauded the stature of the 'CBN Brand' in Singapore's diplomatic and industrial circles, underscoring the respect and recognition it commands. He noted the alignment between Andhra Pradesh's development goals and Singapore's strategic strengths, expressing optimism about the potential for robust bilateral cooperation. Mr. Naidu emphasised that Andhra Pradesh is rapidly emerging as a premier investment destination, backed by forward-looking policies and sector-specific incentives. He highlighted that the State was implementing a range of investor-friendly reforms aimed at attracting companies from Singapore and beyond, particularly in the areas of ports, renewable energy, and industrial corridors. Referring to past collaboration on the Amaravati capital city project, Mr. Naidu acknowledged the setback experienced during 2019–2024 but reiterated his commitment to reviving and strengthening ties. 'This visit is an opportunity to clear misunderstandings, reestablish trust, and forge a renewed vision for development,' he remarked. The Chief Minister outlined Andhra Pradesh's ambitious goal to generate 160 gigawatts of green energy. He revealed that green hydrogen projects have already commenced in Visakhapatnam in collaboration with NTPC, and another is underway in Kakinada. Additionally, he shared plans for India's first Quantum Valley in Amaravati under the India Quantum Mission, reinforcing the State's commitment to futuristic innovation. Mr. Naidu also announced that Google is establishing a state-of-the-art data center in Visakhapatnam, signaling growing confidence among global tech giants in the State's infrastructure and talent ecosystem. Singaporean majors such as STT, Keppel, CapitaLand, Equinix, and PSA are reportedly exploring investment avenues in the State. Urban Development Minister P. Narayana briefed the delegation on housing initiatives in Andhra Pradesh, responding to Mr. Ambule's observation that 83% of Singaporeans benefit from public housing schemes. Minister for IT and Education Nara Lokesh outlined reforms in the education sector and the State's readiness to host world-class academic institutions. Ministers Mr. Lokesh, Mr. Narayana, and T.G. Bharat, along with senior officials from the Andhra Pradesh government, participated in the discussions. With Day 1 of the visit focused on rebuilding strategic trust and showcasing AP's economic potential, CM Naidu's outreach in Singapore sets a confident tone for the days ahead.
