BC meet echoes strong call for unity, leadership
It was jointly organised by the Andhra Pradesh BC Welfare Association and the Ambedkar Phule Foundation, drawing hundreds of BC community members from across the state. Speakers emphasised unity as the key to achieving political empowerment and social progress for BCs.
Revenue Minister Satya Prasad highlighted that BCs have historically risen to positions of power when given the opportunity, recalling how former Chief Minister NT Rama Rao brought BCs to the forefront of governance. 'Now, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, BCs have secured significant representation in the state cabinet,' he said. He urged community members to stay united in the fight for upliftment and equity.
Health Minister Satya Kumar criticised the previous YSRCP regime for sidelining BC leaders and claimed that while BC ministers were frequently changed, those from the Reddy community remained untouched. Citing former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi's remarks in Parliament, he said that reservation policies should not end up promoting incompetence, implying the need for careful and fair implementation.
BC Welfare Minister Savita underscored that only through the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) had BCs seen holistic development and recognition across sectors. She accused the previous YSRCP government of resorting to intimidation tactics, including cases and physical assaults, against those who questioned it.
BC leaders from five states also participated in the event, lending national solidarity to the gathering. Tirupati MLA Arani Srinivasulu, AP BC Welfare Association president Kesani Sankar Rao, Ambedkar Phule Foundation founding president Parasa Ratnam, senior BC leaders Almen Raju, former MLA Mohan, Tirupati district BC Association president Kalluru Nagaraju Goud, secretary Avulapati Bujji Babu, TUDA Chairman C Divakar Reddy, Yadava Corporation Chairman G Narasimha Yadav, were among those who attended.

Chandrababu Naidu vows to ‘drive' State towards prosperity
Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu made an entry at the 'Pedhala Sevalo' (pension distribution) public meeting in Jammalamadugu constituency here on Friday by sitting in an autorickshaw. The incident left the participants in awe, while the video went viral on various social media platforms. It was in this connection that Mr. Naidu had reiterated his aim to drive the State towards prosperity by ensuring that the welfare schemes reach out to all the intended beneficiaries. After distributing widow pension to Alivelamma, he quizzed her about her source of livelihood, to which she mentioned her sons, working as a weaver and an autorickshaw driver, as the breadwinners. Herself a weaver, she also showed Mr. Naidu the loom on which she worked. It was then Ms. Alivelamma requested the Chief Minister to travel in her son's autorickshaw, to which he readily agreed and even sat beside the driver. Moved by the gesture, the mother and her son thanked him. Mr. Naidu distributed pensions to the tune of ₹43.4 crore to 1.08 lakh widows, who he said were left out by the previous regime. Hinting at inclusive welfare, he said, 'A sum of ₹5200 crore will be spent every year to support eligible women and widows.' Slams Jagan Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Naidu slammed YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy for trying to create 'unrest in the State' with his tours. In the same vein, he criticised the media organisation owned by Mr. Jagan for making false propaganda. Expressing shock over the alleged derogatory comment made by the former Kovur legislator N. Prasanna Kumar Reddy against the incumbent woman MLA Vemireddy Prashanthi Reddy, Mr. Naidu wondered how Mr. Jagan could support the offender and call on him at Nellore, instead of condemning the act. Stating that a responsible leader would not tolerate such misdeeds, he warned that anyone acting irresponsibly in his party would face action. Turning his ire on the media house owned by Mr. Jagan, he said the channel showed the crowd mobilised during Mr. Jagan's visit to Bangarupalyam and wrongly projected it as the gathering of party activists in Nellore. Mr. Naidu cautioned the public not to believe the fake narratives deliberately floated by media houses having vested interests, but have faith in the government that would fulfil the promises made to the public.

Annadata Sukhibhava - PM Kisan scheme is a testament to A.P. govt.'s commitment to farmer welfare, says CM
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has said the Annadata Sukhibhava - PM Kisanscheme, set to be launched on August 2, is a testament to the coalition government's commitment to the welfare of farmers, which is in sharp contrast to the misrule of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP). While the NDA is focused on good governance, the YSRCP is making false propaganda against the ruling parties in its bid to stage a comeback in the 2029 elections, he observed. Addressing Ministers, TDP MPs, MLAs, parliamentary constituency in-charges, zonal coordinators, farmer associations' leaders, and grassroots workers through a tele-conference on Friday, Mr. Chandrababu Naidu said the government was delivering on its promises, and accorded top priority to the welfare of farmers. In tune with this, a slew of schemes including Annadata Sukhibhava - PM Kisan, under which a financial assistance of ₹20,000 each would be given to farmers, were being implemented. Due emphasis has been laid on completing the irrigation projects in Rayalaseema to end the water scarcity being faced by farmers for many decades. Drip irrigation facility was being provided with a 90% subsidy and farm equipment being given to the farmers at subsidised prices. Mr. Naidu said the free bus travel for women, which was another major election promise, was slated to be implemented from August 15. Enhanced social security pensions were being given to various sections, gas cylinders were being supplied under the Deepam-2 scheme and many other welfare measures were taken up. The Chief Minister said the elected representatives should keep in touch with the people and help in solving their problems in order to retain their confidence. While the government was doing its best, the YSRCP was spreading lies about a whole lot of things. The air of apprehensions should be cleared by the TDP leaders, who should explain how the government was grappling with the YSRCP's misdeeds that pushed the State to the brink of disaster. Referring to his Singapore trip, Mr. Chandrababu Naidu said the visit was fruitful as investments were tied up on a large scale and the Singapore government promised to lend its expertise in developing the State, especially in transforming Amaravati into a thriving capital city.
