Modi on Friday announced the launch of the scheme which is expected to create 3.5 crore jobs in the next two years.
"Today is August 15 and we are launching ₹1 lakh crore scheme for the youth of this country. It is good news for you that PM Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana is being rolled out from Today," Modi said in his Independence Day speech.
In a post in Hindi on X, Gandhi said, " ₹1 lakh crore jumla - Season 2! Even after 11 years, Modi ji's same old jumlas, same memorized figures."
"Last year, ₹1 lakh crore to 1 crore internships promise, this year again ₹1 lakh crore job scheme! What is the truth? On my question in the Parliament, the government admitted - less than 10,000 internships. The stipend is so low that 90% of the youth refused," the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha said.
"Modi ji has no new idea left now. The youth will not get employment from this government, they will only get jumlas," Gandhi said.
The former Congress president also shared the screenshot of his question in the Lok Sabha last month and the answer by the Minister of State in the Corporate Affairs Ministry Harsh Malhotra.
On July 1, 2025, the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Modi had approved the scheme aimed at incentivising job creation in the country.
In his address, Modi said that under this scheme the youth getting first job in the private sector will get ₹15,000 and the companies (employing them) will get incentive amounts.
With an outlay of ₹99,446 crore, the PM Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana aims to incentivise the creation of more than 3.5 crore jobs over two years. Of these, 1.92 crore beneficiaries will be first timers, entering the workforce.
The benefits of the scheme would be applicable to jobs created between August 1, 2025, and July 31, 2027.

Today in Politics: Rahul Gandhi's begins Yatra in Bihar; EC to hold press conference
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is set to kick off his 16-day 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' (Voter Rights March) from Sasaram in Bihar Sunday. Rahul's march comes amidst strident protests being held by the Opposition parties within Parliament and outside over the Election Commission (EC)'s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar. Hearing a clutch of petitions challenging the Bihar SIR, the Supreme Court, in its interim order Thursday, directed the EC to make available online a searchable list of about 65 lakh voter names omitted from the draft electoral rolls with reasons for their deletion. The march, which is being modelled on Rahul's Bharat Jodo Yatra and Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, will pass through 23 districts, covering 50 Assembly segments in 29 Lok Sabha constituencies across several regions of Bihar. Rahul would traverse a distance of over 1,300 kms during his Yatra, which would be undertaken both on foot and by vehicles. Key faces of the Congress's Mahagathbandhan allies, such as RJD leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, would periodically join Rahul in the course of his march. The Yatra's starting point Sasaram is crucial for the Opposition alliance as it falls in its bastion of Shahabad. It would cross through the Mahagathbandhan's strongholds in the Magadh, Ang, Seemanchal, Mithila, Tirhut and Saran regions, culminating in a rally at Gandhi Maidan in Patna on September 1. The Assembly segments on the Yatra route are a mix of strongholds and swing seats for the Opposition alliance. In the keenly-fought 2020 Bihar Assembly polls, the incumbent Nitish Kumar-led NDA won the polls by winning 125 seats of the state's 243 as against the Mahagathbandhan's 110 seats. Of the 50 Assembly seats along the Yatra route, the Opposition alliance currently has 21 seats. In 2020, the RJD had contested 23 of these 50 seats and won 12. Election Commission press conference The Election Commission (EC) will hold a press conference on Sunday amid allegations of 'vote theft' by the Opposition on the intensive electoral roll revision in Bihar. It is unusual for the poll authority to convene a formal press conference on issues other than announcing election schedules. The subject of the press conference has not been specified, but officials said it is related to allegations levelled against the EC. Rahul has repeatedly accused the poll panel of fudging voter data and alleged that there was 'vote theft' in Maharashtra, Karnataka and Haryana. The commission has asked the Congress leader to submit the names of those he claims have been wrongfully added or removed from the voters' list, along with a signed declaration. The poll authority has even said that it would seek an apology from Rahul, who is the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, if he fails to give an undertaking to back his allegations. PM Modi to inaugurate Delhi section of Dwarka Expressway, Urban Extension Road-II project in NCR
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate two major National Highway projects worth a combined cost of nearly ₹ 11,000 crore around 12:30 pm in Rohini, Delhi on Sunday, August 17, 2025. According to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), PM Modi will also address the gathering on the occasion. As per the press release, PM Modi will inaugurate a section of Dwarka Expressway and Urban Extension Road-II project in NCR. These "projects will help in providing Multi-modal connectivity and decongest Delhi," the PMO said. These projects have been developed under the Government's comprehensive plan to decongest the capital, with the objective of greatly improving connectivity, cutting travel time, and reducing traffic in Delhi and its surrounding areas. As per PMO's statement, the 10.1 km long Delhi section of Dwarka Expressway has been developed at a cost of around Rs. 5,360 crore. The section will provide Multi-modal connectivity to Yashobhoomi, DMRC Blue line and Orange line, the upcoming Bijwasan railway station and the Dwarka cluster Bus Depot. "This section comprises: Package I covers a 5.9 km stretch from the Shiv Murti intersection to the Road Under Bridge (RUB) at Dwarka Sector-21, while Package II spans 4.2 km from the Dwarka Sector-21 RUB to the Delhi-Haryana border, offering direct connectivity to Urban Extension Road-II," the statement from PMO added. The 19 km-long Haryana section of the Dwarka Expressway was earlier inaugurated by the Prime Minister in March 2024. Prime Minister will also inaugurate the Alipur to Dichaon Kalan stretch of Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II) along with new links to Bahadurgarh and Sonipat, built at a cost of around Rs. 5,580 crore. It will ease traffic on Delhi's Inner and Outer Ring Roads and busy points like Mukarba Chowk, Dhaula Kuan, and NH-09. The new spurs will provide direct access to Bahadurgarh and Sonipat, enhance industrial connectivity, reduce city traffic, and expedite goods movement in the NCR.
