EastEnders Bernie star supported by cast as she breaks silence on show axe

Actress Clair Norris, who plays Bernie Taylor in EastEnders, has spoken out weeks after it was revealed she had been axed from the BBC soap after eight years.
Clair, 27, joined her fellow castmates at this weekend's British Soap Awards, in which the soap won an incredible 8 awards. It included wins for Best British Soap, Best Single Episode and Scene of the Year for Angie Watts' surprise return.
The cast and crew were out in full force celebrating, as Clair addressed her exit for the first time in a post from the night - calling it an "amazing end".
Taking to her Instagram to post a picture of herself all glammed up in a teal dress on the night, Clair penned: "My last @thebritishsoapawards with my EE family. We [broom emoji] up last night, 8 awards & I couldn't be prouder to be apart of this team! What a way to end this amazing journey, head held high & beaming from ear to ear."
Clair was supported by both fans as colleagues in her post, with James Farrar, who plays Zack Hudson writing: "Head held HIGH," along with a number of red heart emojis.
Emma Barton who plays Honey Mitchell echoed: "Love you," as Elijah Holloway who plays Harry Mitchell gushed: "We looked lovely didn't we."
Clair also posted pictures with co-star Matthew James Morrison, who has also been axed from the soap after playing the role of Felix Baker since 2022.
Bernie arrived in Walford in 2017 alongside mum Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley) and brother Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters). However, she's the last one of her family members left on the Square with her mum Karen leaving EastEnders in 2023, shortly followed by the murder of her brother Keanu on Christmas Day.
According to The Sun, Bernie's exit storyline didn't come as a surprise to star Clair. A source told the publication: "Every time a soap gets a new boss they want to make their own changes – it's nothing personal.
"The writing has been on the wall for Bernie for some time so it wasn't really a surprise to Clair."
"She was the last Taylor standing and it's time to close the chapter on them and let Clair go on to do other things."
EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

Camilla reveals wish to become joint patron of ‘favourite' Garden Museum
Camilla visited an exhibition held by the Garden Museum in south London on Wednesday to celebrate British Flowers Week. She told attendees she had spoken to the King, who is already a patron, about joining him after previously joking during a visit last year about 'nudging' Charles from his position. Speaking during the visit on Wednesday, she said: 'I have said to my husband and talked to the office as I would very much like to become joint patron. This is one of my favourite places and it never ceases to surprise me', which prompted cheers and applause from the crowd. Gardener and TV presenter Alan Titchmarsh, the president of the Garden Museum, said he would be following up Camilla's decision to become joint patron 'with a letter with a strong invitation'. Of her wish to become joint patron, he added: 'I wouldn't want to tread on His Majesty's toes but I think he would be delighted that Her Majesty is every bit as keen as he is.' Dressed in a polka dot dress and cream and black-toed shoes, Camilla was greeted by Titchmarsh and Christopher Woodward and Rupert Tyler, the Garden Museum's director and chairman of trustees. She told them the museum 'just gets better and better. I think it is hard to get it better but it always manages'. The Queen viewed six installations featuring British cut flowers and met the artists behind them, discussing the importance of diversifying as well as plant upkeep techniques. Camilla was accompanied at times by Sarah Hardy, the deputy director, and florist Shane Connolly, who designed the floral arrangements for the coronation in 2023. She tried her hand at making mint teabags with the museum's plant science educator, Samia Qureshi. Camilla sniffed and placed the herbs in the drawstring bags and said: 'I shall sample that tonight.' Reaching the museum's cafe, she received a bouquet of flowers from head chef Myles Donaldson's daughter, Darcie, four, before telling cafe staff: 'I wish I was staying'.

UFC star Tom Aspinall makes bold claim about future amid Jon Jones fight delay
The Brit has seemingly given up on a fight with the undisputed heavyweight champion and is now hoping to stay active inside the cage this year Tom Aspinall has his sights set on a busy end to the year and has expressed his frustration over the delay in securing a fight with Jon Jones. The interim heavyweight champion has been out of action since his win over Curtis Blaydes last July and is eager to get back in the octagon. Despite a challenging year waiting for Jones - who secured the undisputed title by submitting Ciryl Gane in 2023 and defended it against Stipe Miocic last November - Aspinall is ready to move on. Jones has teased staying on for another fight, but Aspinall suspects he's hung up his gloves and is eyeing other opportunities. The Wigan warrior told TNT Sports: "I'm sick of talking about myself, I mean, I think it's pretty clear to see that Jon Jones has retired, he doesn't want to fight me. We wish Jon all the best in the future, of course, but we want this heavyweight division active. "We want to give these contenders a chance to fight, we wanna have a defending champion, don't we? Why is this division so stagnant all the time? Let's make the heavyweight division great again and have an active defending UFC heavyweight champion, let's move on. I'm ready to fight, I wanna get two fights in before the end of the year so that's what we're doing. We finally have some movement, Jones has had a great career, I respect him, we know what he's done... Have a good life, we move on." It seems as if Aspinall has fully moved on after stating that 'Bones' is retired. Earlier this week, when asked about the agreement by UFC legends Daniel Cormier and Chael Sonnen on the Good Guy / Bad Guy podcast, the Brit said: "Nah man, Jon is retired. What are you talking about guys? "You guys don't follow Jon on social media? Me too [I don't follow him]. But the guy is living his best life. He's had a fantastic career, we all know. We know Jon's a religious man, so I want to say God bless him moving forward in what he does in his life and his career. "We move on. I'm the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world. I'm ready to take on all comers, get this division moving again. Us guys have been waiting around too long, the contenders are getting sick of it, everybody is getting sick of it, even the fans are getting sick of this stuff. So Jon's retired and it's time that we move on." If Aspinall has in fact moved on, the UFC faces a challenging task in finding a suitable opponent for the British fighter. The most logical match-up for Aspinall at this point would be Gane - who narrowly won his last fight against Alexander Volkov in December via a split decision.
