Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor once again found herself at the centre of social media chatter after an unexpected slip at a Janmashtami celebration in Mumbai. The actress attended a grand Dahi Handi event in Ghatkopar on Saturday, but her choice of chant left netizens both amused and critical.
In a video that has now gone viral, Janhvi is seen breaking the traditional dahi handi matki alongside BJP MLA Ram Kadam. As she smashed the pot with a coconut, she enthusiastically shouted, 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai!" The crowd cheered her on, but the internet wasted no time in pointing out the blunder.
Within hours, the clip spread widely across platforms. Many joked that Janhvi confused Independence Day with Janmashtami, since the patriotic chant is usually heard on national occasions rather than festive ones. The actress has yet to comment on the viral moment. Meanwhile, another video from the same evening surfaced online showing Janhvi being swarmed by fans as she exited the venue. Surrounded by a sea of people, she looked visibly uncomfortable as security struggled to control the crowd.
