Robert Pattinson Shares Update on ‘The Batman 2': ‘I'm Very Excited'
You are not the only one excited for 'The Batman 2.'
Star Robert Pattinson shared an enticing (but brief) update on the highly anticipated superhero project, telling Extra that he finally knows what the film is about and that he can't wait to wear the cape and mask again. Writer Matt Reeves, however, is doing a great job of cloaking any spoiler-y details.
'I know what it's about now,' Pattinson said. 'Matt [Reeves] is a very careful writer, but I finally now know what it's about. It's very cool and I'm very excited.'

While the actor didn't reveal any other details, Pattinson's little tidbit is the latest on the film, which recently delayed its release to Oct. 1, 2017. The actor will reprise his role as the dark knight. The film was originally set to hit theaters in October of this year, but it was pushed back due to stalled script development during the 2023 actors and writers' strikes.
'The Batman,' which was released in 2022, grossed $772 million worldwide at the box office.
The new release date for 'The Batman 2' gives space from the release date of DC Studios inaugural Superman film from James Gunn, which will be released on July 11. 'Superman: Legacy' is part of the first phase of the DCU, the next attempt by WBD to make an interconnected DC Comics cinematic universe.
As for the follow-up to 'The Batman,' it will remain separate from the otherwise interconnected DC Studios continuity. At a presentation for journalists last year, Gunn noted that such darker, more adult-skewing side stories, like Todd Phillips' 'Joker' or – as he joked, 'Teen Titans Go!' — would be explicitly labeled as a DC Elseworld.
Additionally, Gunn and Safran also revealed that there would be an upcoming movie that will introduce yet another live-action Batman while also introducing Damian Wayne, Bruce Wayne's son who eventually becomes Robin.

James Gunn says Peacemaker season 2 has a "really, really, really big cameo" as he teases key connections between the HBO show and the upcoming Superman

All eyes might be in Superman right now as it is the first movie in the new DC Universe (DCU), but James Gunn is already teasing many surprises and cameos for the upcoming Peacemaker season 2. The show is set to return in August after a three-year hiatus. According to the DC boss, that big gap in between seasons has allowed him to weave the story into the DCU in a more organic way. "I developed it along the way, in conjunction with the other DC projects that we're doing, so it's very much connected to Superman and it's very much connected to what comes after," Gunn told Entertainment Weekly. "I had a rough idea of what I was going to do, but it was actually quite different than what the show ended up being," he added. The first Peacemaker season 2 trailer already revealed some unexpected cameos from the new Superman, including Nathan Fillion's Green Lantern Guy Gardner, Isabela Merced's Hawkgirl, and Sean Gunn's Maxwell Lord. They are not the only ones, though. "You've seen what we call the QUC, the Quantum Unfolding Chamber, in the first season of Peacemaker, and we see more about that technology in Superman," Gunn explains about the connections between the HBO show and Superman, revealing that "the QUC is the center of the story in Peacemaker season 2". "We see a lot of different characters from Superman in the [season], [including] Isabela and Nathan and Sean, and then we see a bunch of other characters later on in the season from other parts of the DCU and from Superman. There might even be one really, really, really big cameo near the end of the show," he teased. Could that big cameo also be from Superman? Could it be Superman himself, or even Supergirl? Or is it perhaps related to the old DCEU? We will have to wait and see how DC Studios' grand plans in DCU Chapter One: Gods and Monsters unfold. As for the plot for Peacemaker season 2, Gunn also revealed that the story will follow John Cena's hero while he struggles to be taken seriously among the superhero community. "We come into season 2 with Peacemaker knowing that he saved the world from the Butterflies. He thinks he's a big star now, and he should be a real superhero. And we see at the very beginning of episode 1 that he's meeting with the group of superheroes from Superman, and he's basically interviewing for membership in the group. But they just mock him the entire time, so he's not taken seriously," he said. Peacemaker season 2 will be released on August 21, 2025. Superman's runtime is just over 2 hours long, but director James Gunn denies rumors that the studio stopped it from being longer: "Zero truth to that"
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Superman director James Gunn has taken to social media to confirm the DC movie's runtime, but moved just as quickly to deny any suggestions of studio interference in the final cut. Recent cinema listings had Superman down at 129 minutes, with Gunn replying to a fan on Threads to say that was correct "inclusive of credits/post credits." When a commenter replied, "Any truth that [Warner Bros] forced you to make it shorter?", Gunn wrote: "Zero truth to that. And they couldn't even if that's something that they wanted to. It's a DC Studios film." Starring David Corenswet as the Man of Steel alongside Rachel Brosnahan's Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult's Lex Luthor, Superman marks the first live-action project of DC Studios' nascent DCU Chapter One: Gods and Monsters. Other confirmed projects for the first wave of DC's new universe include the Aaron Pierre-starring Lanterns, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, a Clayface movie, and a new Batman project separate from Robert Pattinson and Matt Reeves' own Bat-Verse. Peacemaker season 2, meanwhile, follows immediately on from Superman's story this August, with a recent trailer hinting at some multiversal shenanigans – and could clue us in on how the DCU connects to the old DCEU. According to Gunn, there's even a "really, really, really big cameo" for fans to look forward to. Superman joins a packed schedule in July, which includes Jurassic World Rebirth and a duel with Marvel as Fantastic Four takes its First Steps into the MCU. For more, check out the movie release dates to look forward to in 2025. Then catch up on the story so far with a look at how to watch the DC movies in order.

SUPERMAN Featurette Sees Nathan Fillion Embrace Guy Gardner's Bowl Cut, But Lois Lane Hates It — GeekTyrant
A new behind-the-scenes featurette dropped for James Gunn's Superman giving us a new look at Nathan Fillion's take on Green Lantern Guy Gardner… and if focuses on the infamous bowl cut. Fans have been curious how Fillion would pull off Gardner's abrasive style, both in attitude and appearance. As it turns out, the answer is… unapologetically. In the video, Gunn walks us through how they settled on the hairstyle, revealing that Fillion wore a wig that was then meticulously shaped into Guy's signature helmet-hair look, and it looks exactly as ridiculous as it should. Fillion admits in the featurette, 'There was some talk about different hairstyles. There was some talk about some different types of things we were going to go. I was team bowl cut the whole way. It's canon. It's set. I said, 'If we don't do a bowl cut, we're going to hear about it.'' 'Now, here's the thing,' Fillion added. 'I have another job [The Rookie] with a boss who's kind enough to let me out for other projects. But I think he would draw the line at a bowl cut police officer.' The footage ends with a quick clip from the movie, where Lois Lane (Rachel Brosnahan) absolutely roasts Guy during what appears to be a heated Daily Planet encounter. 'Maybe not having an awful haircut should be in your vows,' she says, and Guy does not take it well. Superman arrives in theaters on July 11, 2025.
