Serena Williams' Super Bowl Cameo Explained: Surprise Appearance Was ‘Nasty Work' From Kendrick Lamar
In what has already been a whirlwind year for the rapper and his Grammy Award-winning diss track 'Not Like Us,' Lamar decided to place the hit song on America's biggest stage. It was already announced that SZA would appear and perform a couple of their duets, but Lamar surprised the audience with a cameo from tennis legend Serena Williams.
Williams and Drake actually have their own history, having reportedly dated on-and-off from 2011 to 2015. Drake referenced Williams in his 2013 song 'Worst Behavior,' and then again in 2022 when he called out her husband, Alexis Ohanian, in his song 'Middle of the Ocean,' calling him a 'groupie.'
The tennis star did not return his volleys – but she did decide to perform alongside his foe, Lamar. The Lamar-Drake beef is explained in detail here, but the two rappers released back-to-back diss tracks at one another in the spring of 2024, with Lamar doubling down on allegations that Drake has sexual relationships with minors (and even got the entire Super Bowl arena and the Grammys audience to sing it along with him).
The shared enemy may not have been the only reason Williams and Lamar teamed up for the performance. Both were born and raised in Compton, California. The tennis star paid homage to her hometown by crip walking to 'Not Like Us.' Social media users online quickly clocked the dance move as the same one she got in trouble for at Wimbledon. Williams responded saying if she danced like that on the court she 'would've been fined.'
Other fans online called the Williams' cameo 'nasty work' from Lamar. Another fan called it 'chaotic good.'

Zach Bryan says he'll ‘never play in KC' (again?) after Twitter spat with Chiefs fans
You would think after he admitted last year to 'drunkenly' comparing Kanye West to Taylor Swift, and the Eagles to the Chiefs, country singer Zach Bryan would have learned a thing or two about trash talking on social media. You would think. On Friday, the 'Something in the Orange' singer — and Philadelphia Eagles fan — took what sounded like a jab at the Chiefs on X, writing: 'Where are all the three-peat people from last year?' Chiefs fans responded quickly and things went downhill from there, as fans from other teams hopped in. 'You're clearly insane dude.' 'The Chiefs won more Super Bowls in a 5 year span than the Eagles have won in franchise history.' 'Eagles fan from *checks notes* Oklahoma obsessed with Kansas City Chiefs.' 'Did someone from KS hurt you? Do we need to wipe your little baby bum bum for you?' 'Go (bleep) yourself. You keep talking that (bleep) and yet tour here. Don't come back.' An hour after his first tweet, Bryan posted: 'Please understand I will never play in Kansas City.' The tweet has been seen by nearly 2 million people. Perhaps he meant again, because nearly 20,000 fans watched the final stop on his 2023 tour, 'Burn, Burn, Burn,' at T-Mobile Center, setting an attendance record hailed as 'impressive' by the arena's general manager. And he returned to T-Mobile last year with his 'Quittin Time' tour. 'Just tired of this dude always talking (bleep) but has no shame in coming and taking these peoples hard earned money,' one Chiefs fan wrote. After Bryan wrote that he would never play in Kansas City, a fan responded: 'Great news. Take us off your live album too.' 'Done brother,' Bryan fired back. The dust-up caught the attention of football and country fans. 'The country music star finds himself in a familiar place today,' the country-themed website Whiskey Riff wrote during the drama. 'There's no telling how many times he's posted — and then quickly deleted — thoughts and messages he's put out on the internet. 'As of right now, Bryan's current ongoing feud with a Kansas City Chiefs fans online is still up for the world to see. If history tells us anything, they'll soon be erased from existence, like the internet fight never even happened.' Last year Bryan deleted his X account two days after he tweeted: 'eagles > chiefs / Kanye > Taylor, who's with me.' He later apologized in a series of Instagram Stories, explaining that 'for the record guys I wasn't coming for Taylor the other night. I was drunkenly comparing two records and it came out wrong.' At one point he explained that he gets in trouble on X too often and would be staying off the social media platform, formerly Twitter. But he came back. An hour after his three-peat tweet on Friday, he wrote: 'guys it's okay to talk trash to each other about football yall are weird as hell.' He was up early Saturday morning preparing to go fly-fishing for trout on the Colorado River. The Chiefs play their first preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals at 7 p.m. Central. Drake Debuts His Latest Superstar Collaboration At No. 1
Drake is accustomed to reaching No. 1s on the Billboard charts, and his latest smash adds several more winners to his already-historic tally. The rapper has been one of the most successful names in American music for more than a decade, and he often launches new cuts directly in the top spot. That is true again this frame with 'Which One,' his new collaboration with U.K. star Central Cee. While it misses one major throne by a single spot, it still opens as a champion on multiple lists. Three New No. 1s for 'Which One' 'Which One' starts at No. 1 on R&B/Hip-Hop Streaming Songs, Rap Streaming Songs, and Rap Digital Song Sales charts this week. The track is a major smash on streaming platforms – which is a common occurrence for the Canadian hip-hop talent – and even a bestseller, though only when looking specifically at rap. Drake's Career Totals Reach New Heights As 'Which One' arrives, Drake has now collected 27 No. 1s on the R&B/Hip-Hop Streaming Songs chart, 22 on the Rap Streaming Songs list, and 25 on the Rap Digital Song Sales tally. On each roster, he has earned well over 120 top 10s — a feat no other rapper has matched. 'Which One' Opens High on Other Rankings Beyond its trio of debuts at No. 1, 'Which One' enters inside the top 10 on several other Billboard tallies. The cut opens at No. 8 on the Streaming Songs chart, No. 3 on both the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales lists, and in the runner-up spot on the Hot Rap Songs roster. On that last ranking, Drake is held at bay by Kendrick Lamar and SZA's 'Luther,' which extends its run as the longest leader in the chart's history. Another Hot 100 Win for Drake On the all-genre Hot 100, 'Which One' begins at No. 23, marking Drake's three-hundred-and-sixtieth career entry. That is significantly more than any other artist has managed, and he extends his lead over every other artist yet again. The collaboration also earns a quick start on the Rap Airplay chart, beginning its time at No. 25. Following What Did I Miss?' The new cut comes just a month after Drake's solo single 'What Did I Miss?,' which is dipping on most lists but still climbing to new highs on the Radio Songs, R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay, and Rap Airplay charts. Both tracks are expected to be featured on his upcoming album Iceman, which is rumored to be released later this year. A Shift Back to Rap on 'Which One' Earlier in 2025, Drake teamed with PartyNextDoor on a joint project heavy on R&B-leaning tracks titled Some Sexy Songs 4 U. 'Which One' brings him back to a more assertive rap style, pairing his own verses with Cee's in another team-up for the two.

Why 'White Lotus' creator Mike White is returning to 'Survivor'
When "Survivor" host Jeff Probst decided to bring back contestant Mike White for the reality competition's 50th season, he knew White would be showing his hand. White, a one-time participant on the show, has since become the famed mastermind behind "White Lotus," the popular resort-based drama on HBO. "The thing that's most interesting about Mike playing for the second time is there is no hiding that he is the biggest writer, director, show creator in the world right now, and he wanted to come back and play 'Survivor,'" Probst told the Hollywood Reporter in an interview published Aug. 7. "So I can understand why people had a reaction." 'White Lotus' creator Mike White's next tropical island is return to 'Survivor' The long-running competition show features a group of "castaways" facing off in challenges on a remote island for the chance to take home $1 million. Among the first crop of reality shows to make it big when the format burst onto the scene in the early 2000s, it requires a mix of physical strength and personal cunning to forge alliances and read other contestants. While Probst, the show's longtime host, acknowledges the oddity of an Emmy-winning director opting to return to the dusty isles of survivordom, he thinks people aren't asking the right questions. "I'm surprised people aren't asking, 'Why is one of the greatest writers in the history of Hollywood so interested in 'Survivor?'" he told THR. "What is it that Mike is learning about humans and behavior and situational ethics that he applies to his craft? Because I think that's part of why he does it — he's out there in a real incubator of human behavior where you never know what's going to happen, but what you do know is that if you show up to play 'Survivor', you can study it." 'Survivor' Season 50 cast: Which returning players are playing for $1 million? White first appeared on the "Survivor's" 37th season in 2018, landing in the runner-up spot and gaining a cult popularity among the show's fanbase along the way. His biggest hit, "White Lotus," which channels the darker side of the human spirit and the downfalls of excess, works in tandem with his experience on the show. "When you watch 'White Lotus,' what are you watching? You're watching human behavior all day," Probst continued. "I think that's part of the reason Mike is back, and if you don't understand that, maybe you're asking the wrong question." White, a celebrated screenwriter, also penned and starred in "School of Rock" and "Chuck & Buck." "He wanted to come back and step away from his Hollywood career for a moment and play this game that he loves to see how it will go," Probst added, explaining that he thinks White is interested to see how his own newfound fame will factor into his standing among fellow contestants. "He's arguably the single best storyteller we've ever had on 'Survivor,'" he told THR. "I'm grateful to consider him a friend, because I learn from Mike every day. You're talking (about) one of the best of all time, and the fact that he said yes to 'Survivor' still brings a smile on my face.' When is 'Survivor' Season 50 airing? No official premiere date has been released, but the show's 50th season is expected to begin airing on CBS in spring 2026.
