NBA
Global ambassador,
Suga
of BTS, aka Min Yoongi, has finally completed his mandatory service, which every able-bodied male has to undergo in South Korea. The official handle of the NBA on X (formerly Twitter), along with thousands of BTS fans, took the opportunity to welcome him back after more than 18 months of being away.
They also hinted at future schedules that will see Suga courtside for some games, possibly by next season.
NBA welcomes Suga of BTS back after completing
mandatory military service
BTS is finally back as all seven members have completed their mandatory military service in South Korea. The world-famous K-Pop group went on hiatus because of their military duties back in December 2022, when their eldest member Jin became the first to enlist. After that, every member left to join the army and complete their service to the country.
With Suga back, all seven members have successfully completed their service and will be back inside the recording studio in no time.
"With pride and excitement, we welcome NBA Ambassador SUGA back! 🇰🇷✨
The journey continues, and we look forward to cheering with you at games very soon. Stay tuned for more! 🏀
#SUGAxNBA #BTS #WelcomeBack #NBAAmbassador"
The
NBA
also took this opportunity to welcome their global ambassador, Suga, back from service with a simple tweet, and an Instagram story saying - 'Welcome back @agustd.'
Unlike the rest of his BTS brothers, Suga did not join the military, but was part of what is known as Special Services in South Korea. It was because of a shoulder injury he sustained years ago, which is also the reason his service was longer compared to the rest of the members.
But now, with him being the last member to come back, BTS has finally reunited. Their company, HYBE, and their label Big Hit Music released a statement welcoming the rapper and letting the fans know that he is back safe and sound.
And fans are no doubt, overjoyed.
"We confirm that Suga effectively completed his alternative service on June 18 by using his remaining leave. His official discharge date is June 21."
All seven members of the K-Pop group were last seen at a concert of
BTS's J-Hope
in Seoul on June 13, which was also their 12th anniversary since debut. BTS is set to make their comeback early next year and commence on a world tour soon after.

She has been practising yoga for years now. In a throwback interview with IANS, the actor had revealed the key to her youth. She said, 'It has been five to six years since I have been doing Iyengar yoga. I love it because it is based on alignment of the body and is very good for your mental health, too. It is like meditation; it is a great stress reliever and promotes positive inflow, which I really enjoy. That's the main reason I do Iyengar yoga; the physical benefits are secondary" and continues, 'Today there is one form of yoga which I call the fashion yoga. They play loud music and do yoga. That is not the real practice. The real practice is going within yourself. One shouldn't do yoga with loud music and mirrors around as it distracts the senses. For me, Iyengar yoga works the best." For the unversed, Mallika Sherawat has moved to Los Angeles and has purchased a sprawling mansion for herself. Her house, which also consists of a swimming pool and sprawling frontyard, are often featured on her Instagram posts. On the work front, she was last seen in Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video featuring Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri. First Published: June 21, 2025, 18:35 IST
