Live — Latest Updates
We're ready for 'One Last Adventure' - let us see the trailer already!
Welcome to TG's 'Stranger Things' season 5 trailer watch live blog! We're so excited to see more from what will doubtless be one of the biggest TV launches of the rest of 2025, and we'll be trying to share as much as possible in the run-up to the trailer's release.
Wait, there's a 'Stranger Things' trailer coming today?
If you missed the news and are just getting caught up. Netflix revealed that a new trailer would be dropping today on social media, accompanied by this imposing new poster featuring the menacing face of Vecna...
Fan reactions look positive
While we've not seen the new teaser, members of the cast have shared a clip on social media wherein they gave a handful of lucky fans the chance to watch the new footage.
Sure, we've not seen the footage, but if we judge it by their reactions, we're in for an epic final season. In other words: get excited.
Reminder: watch the 'Stranger Things' Date Announcement teaser here
Our last bit of "Stranger Things" season 5 footage came at Tudum 2025 earlier this year, in the form of the "Date Announcement" teaser.
Admittedly, a fair bit of that footage was from past seasons of the show, serving as a reminder of everything that's gone down in Hawkins so far, and a brief look at what's to come in the final season.
'Stranger Things' Season 5 release dates
As a reminder, Netflix is once again splitting the forthcoming final instalment up. But unlike season 4, "Stranger Things" fifth chapter will actually be divided into three separate volumes releasing at the end of the year.
Those "Stranger Things" season 5 release dates are:
"Stranger Things" season 5 Vol. 1 (episodes 1-4): November 26, 2025
"Stranger Things" season 5 Vol. 2 (episodes 5-7): Christmas Day, 2025
"Stranger Things" season 5 Vol. 3 (finale): New Year's Eve, 2025
Basically, we'll all be looking for excuses to dodge our families and grab some Netflix screentime over the holiday season!
'Stranger Things' season 5 plot synopsis
Just to refresh your memory of what's in store, I'm gonna share Netflix's "Stranger Things" season 5 plot synopsis below. From what they've shared so far, it sounds like the show's going out in style.
"'The fall of 1987. Hawkins is scarred by the opening of the Rifts, and our heroes are united by a single goal: find and kill Vecna. But he has vanished — his whereabouts and plans unknown. Complicating their mission, the government has placed the town under military quarantine and intensified its hunt for Eleven, forcing her back into hiding. As the anniversary of Will's disappearance approaches, so does a heavy, familiar dread. The final battle is looming — and with it, a darkness more powerful and more deadly than anything they've faced before. To end this nightmare, they'll need everyone — the full party — standing together, one last time.'
'Stranger Things' season 5 episode titles
Here are the official episode titles for 'Stranger Things' season 5, which consists of eight episodes split across three volumes:
Episode 1: The Crawl
Episode 2: The Vanishing of … (full title intentionally unrevealed)
Episode 3: The Turnbow Trap
Episode 4: Sorcerer
Episode 5: Shock Jock
Episode 6: Escape from Camazotz
Episode 7: The Bridge
Episode 8: The Rightside Up
'Stranger Things' star teases season 5 finale as the 'the best episode they've ever done'
Concerned that the long-awaited final season of 'Stranger Things' might not deliver? According to Jim Hopper himself (David Harbour), fans have nothing to worry about.
Speaking during a live taping of the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Harbour described the Season 5 finale as 'the best episode they've ever done.'
Although he admitted, 'I can be very critical of this show,' Harbour had nothing but praise for the final episode: 'They land the plane, and it is the best episode they've ever done. The end of this episode when we were reading it — just us reading it — about halfway through, people started crying. Then about the last 20 minutes, it was just uncontrollably crying, waves of different people. Noah Schnapp being my favorite.'
Reflecting on the cast's journey, he added, 'They started the show when they were 11 and 12, and here we are reading [the finale]. It's 10 years later, and we examine that idea, and it's so well done and so beautiful. It's such a great episode, and it's such a great season. You guys will love it.' (quotes h/t Deadline).
Will there be any new faces in 'Stranger Things' season 5?
Yes! According to Netflix Tudum, Nell Fisher, Jake Connelly, and Alex Breaux have been added to the lineup for 'Stranger Things' season 5. They'll be joined by genre icon Linda Hamilton, whose involvement in the final chapter is confirmed, though details about her character are still being kept under wraps.
Full cast list for 'Stranger Things' season 5
Here's a look at the full cast confirmed for the fifth and final season:
Winona Ryder as Joyce Byers
David Harbour as Jim Hopper
Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven
Finn Wolfhard as Mike Wheeler
Gaten Matarazzo as Dustin Henderson
Caleb McLaughlin as Lucas Sinclair
Noah Schnapp as Will Byers

Joe Keery as Steve Harrington
Maya Hawke as Robin Buckley
Priah Ferguson as Erica Sinclair
Brett Gelman as Murray Bauma
Jamie Campbell Bower as Vecna
Cara Buono as Karen Wheeler
Amybeth McNulty as Vickie
Nell Fisher as Holly Wheeler
Jake Connelly as Derek
Alex Breaux as Lt. Akers
Linda Hamilton as Dr. Kay
Will's journey comes full circle
From the beginning to the end, 'Stranger Things 'comes full circle. In season 1, Will was the one who vanished. In season 5, he's the one leading the fight. Stranger Things Memes on X clearly wants to break hearts today.
'Stranger Things' actor confirms they appeared in the final scene shot for season 5
Finn Wolfhard, who plays Mike, has revealed that he was involved in the final scene filmed for "Stranger Things" season 5 — a detail that raises questions about whether Mike Wheeler survives until the end of the series.
'I was the last thing shot of the show,' Wolfhard said during a recent episode of Q with Tom Power when asked about his final day on set. But when Power followed up with, 'So you're the last shot of the last scene,' the actor clarified, saying, 'Well, no, it was that we just like wrapped, like I just was like one of the last people to film basically.'
So while it doesn't sound like the finale itself was the last thing shot, Wolfhard was among the final cast members on set, suggesting his character could be around for much of the final season. It's worth noting that TV productions often shoot scenes out of order.
We're all 'so ready' for this trailer to drop
Obviously, we're all excited, but just to gauge how much, take a quick scroll through the #StrangerThings5 hashtag on X - fans around the world literally couldn't be more pumped to get another look at "Stranger Things" season 5. Mostly, I'm seeing tweet after tweet of "I'M SO READY".
IT'S HAPPENING
THE TRAILER IS OUT! I REPEAT: THE TRAILER IS OUT!
Let's go!!
The vibe is impeccable. The stakes look huge, everyone's banding together for the final fight, to an epic score. The monsters, the jeopardy: I love it!
'Let's end this, kid'
Hopper's words have me thinking Eleven will be pushed to the absolute limit this time to fight Vecna off.
Well, that was epic.
I'm still gathering my thoughts on everything I've seen, but let's just say this feels like a final season worth waiting for.
Everyone's hyped for Season 5
Immediately, my first port of call was to go back to X, to see how that teaser has landed with other "Stranger Things" fans, and it looks like the hype-meter has reached fever pitch already.
I'm seeing people grabbing their own screenshots, one viewer calling it a "mind-blowing" teaser, fears for what's to come, and much, much more.
New images have also dropped
While I'm scrambling to pull my thoughts together on the new teaser, I thought I'd flag that, along with the new trailer, Netflix has also put a new selection of stills from the new season... including this rather foreboding one of Steve Harrington equipped with a chainsaw. I feel sorry for whatever Upside Down beast is about to face him, that's for sure.
I already shared another fresh image in the previous post, and will be uploading more of the new images when I can.
See Eleven, Joyce, and more in new 'Stranger Things' stills
As promised, here's a batch of those newly-released "Stranger Things" season 5 stills (I'll be sharing the remainder of Netflix's newly-released images imminently)

Meet some new faces in these new images
Just sharing the remaining few stills as I grab them; these last couple feature two new arrivals, including Linda Hamilton's Dr. Kay and Nell Fisher as Mike's younger sister, Holly Wheeler.

My first few takeaways from today's 'Stranger Things' season 5 trailer
Okay, I've started trying to collect my thoughts a little after all of today's excitement. Here's what I'm thinking after processing all the new footage (which I've shared again, for convenience).
- This final fight's going to be bigger than ever. With the military presence on site and all those scenes of our gang tooled up and ready for battle, this next season feels way more dangerous.
- Max's fate hangs in the balance - Max has already been through the wringer in "Stranger Things" so far, and it looks like that's not about to change. Her last encounter with Vecna left her with broken bones, blinded, and in a coma, and now Lucas is trying to smuggle her out of a facility while being pursued by Demodogs in a scene that screams that "Jurassic Park" scene to me. Can they bring her back?
- Vecna looks more powerful than ever... but so does Eleven. Sure, Jamie Campbell Bower's big bad looks even more menacing in the trailer's final moments, but Eleven's gotten stronger, too: she can even fly now. This power creep has me hyped for the final face-off, for sure.
And finally, a prediction: with all these shocked and panicked faces and all the danger on display, I'm expecting tragedy to strike and potentially to lose more than one of our major party members.
And with that, we can look forward to the show's release (and maybe more info!) later this year. It looks like one hell of a send-off.
'Stranger Things' isn't technically over after season 5
Even though season 5 signals the end of 'Stranger Things' as we know it, we're not entirely leaving Hawkins, Indiana behind. How? Well, as Tudum puts it, 'Saturday morning cartoons are getting turned Upside Down.'
Yes, we're getting a 'Stranger Things' animated series at Netflix, and the title was revealed back in April 2025: 'Stranger Things: Tales From '85.'
We've always dreamed of an animated Stranger Things in the vein of the Saturday morning cartoons that we grew up loving, and to see this dream realized has been absolutely thrilling," the Duffer Brothers told Tudum.
When is 'Stranger Things' season 5 premiering?
Mark your calendars: This holiday season, Netflix is serving Demogorgons with the turkey. 'Stranger Things 5' is dropping in three parts, all on or close to big holidays later this year.
Volume 1 arrives November 26 (the day before Thanksgiving) with four episodes.
Volume 2 drops on Christmas Day with three episodes. Talk about a gift!
And Volume 3, the final episode, lands December 31 and is sure you scream in the New Year.
Expect eight episodes (many of them supersized) of Hawkins chaos from the Duffer brothers, with the full gang back, including Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, as well as new face Linda Hamilton joining the fight.
Get ready for a holiday party in the Upside Down.

Kelly Rowland And AJ McLean On Their Dream Bands

We all know the iconic Kelly Rowland from Destiny's Child and superstar AJ McLean from the Backstreet Boys. C'mon, they are pop ROYALTY. We recently had the chance to chat with them for Netflix's Building the Band. The duo were genuine, lovely, and charismatic. My inner child was SCREAMING WITH EXCITEMENT. Building the Band is a unique competition show that brings together talented singers from all over the world to build the perfect band. The singers are in complete control of their own destiny as they listen and chat with the other singers, seeking to form their very own bands in individual 'booths' without ever seeing each other. It's all about chemistry. Its kind of like Love is Blind meets American Idol meets The Voice. The individual singers are literally building their own bands based on only hearing each others' voices and having conversations in their own 'booths'. The goal? To build the next great music band! AJ McLean is the host of the Building the Band and Kelly Rowland is a guest judge. Nicole Scherzinger is a mentor/judge and the late Liam Payne is a guest judge. Naturally, we just HAD to ask AJ and Kelly who they would put in their dream bands. And no, they weren't allowed to include their current or past band members. AJ said, "I'm going to say Bruno Mars and Ryan Tedder...I feel like we all kind of grew up on R&B, soul, pop. I think it would be a solid pop, R&B group." For Kelly, her dream band would be, "Roberta Flack and Lauryn Hill." "Oh good one!" added AJ in the background. For the full interview clip and what genre of band they'd be, watch here: Building The Band is streaming now on Netflix. I, for one, am completely hooked. ‘My Oxford Year' Ending, Explained

Warning: The following contains spoilers for My Oxford Year. My Oxford Year has officially arrived on Netflix. Based on Julia Whelan's novel of the same time, the film follows ambitious American student Anna (played by Sofia Carson) on her year at Oxford University, where she meets and ends up falling in love with student teacher Jamie (Corey Mylchreest), despite them both agreeing to keep things casual. Anna later learns that Jamie is living with a rare, terminal form of cancer and has chosen to forgo further treatment in order to make the most of the time he has remaining, which is why he's been so hesitant to commit. While the film largely follows Whelan's novel, the two differ significantly in their conclusions. So, what exactly happens to Jamie? Read on for the full ending explained. In the novel, Jamie receives a temporary reprieve following a case of pneumonia and participation in a clinical trial, giving him the chance to fulfill his vow to journey across Europe with Anna, who is known as Ella in the book. The film takes a more sombre turn as Jamie's health begins to decline. Near the end, Anna wakes to find him unconscious beside her in bed. She rushes him to the hospital, where she stays faithfully by his side as he approaches the end of his life. After his passing, she imagines him accompanying her on her European travels—until those visions gradually dissolve, leaving her to face the journey on her own. She follows through on the adventures she and Jamie once dreamed of sharing, immersing herself in the world they had longed to explore together. It's a powerful turning point that reflects the impact Jamie had on her life—teaching her to release her fears, stop overthinking the future, and embrace the present more fully. The story comes full circle in the closing scene, set once again in the familiar Oxford classroom where Anna once sat as Jamie's student. A new group of students fills the room as Anna steps in, now standing at the front as their lecturer. Like Jamie before her, Anna invites her students to have some cake and says: 'Poetry isn't just studied—it's experienced. Let it move through you. Let it transform you.' By the end of the movie, Jamie is most definitely dead, but that's not to say the film isn't without a silver lining for Anna. 'Even though it's clear Anna's alone at the end. We left it a little bit ambiguous because we wanted the film to end with hope and with light,' Sofia explained in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. As to why the film opted for a different ending to the book, Corey told EW: 'It's better like that. It's more powerful. That is the direction that the book is heading in, and it would feel like hypocrisy for Jamie to speak all these things and for Anna to be understanding that philosophy of life [and not end there].' He continued: 'The impressive thing is that Jamie believes all of these things—forever is composed of nows—and he doesn't have that many nows left. So, what's really amazing is that he's doing all of this stuff and believes all these things with really not that much time left. If that wasn't true, it would feel like we're undervaluing his beliefs.' My Oxford Year is available to stream on Netflix.
