Rahul Gandhi should apologise for making baseless allegations against RSS: BJP
Party vice president and former MLA N.V.S.S. Prabhakar claimed that even Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, grand father of Mr. Rahul Gandhi, himself had appreciated the self-less services of RSS during India-China war while addressing the nation during the 1963 Republic Day celebrations.
Dr. Ambedkar too had attended a RSS programme at Karad of Satara district on January 2, 1940 and written in a book stating that RSS is a patriotic organization while Mahatma Gandhi had attended RSS camp and Sakha in 1934 at Vardha and in Delhi on September 16, 1947 describing RSS as a 'disciplined organization', he claimed.
Therefore, the BJP leader has advised Mr. Gandhi to read Indian history properly before making objectionable comments.
In a separate statement, party spokespersons N.V. Subash also criticised Mr. Gandhi for the 'reckless and irresponsible' accusations against the Election Commission of India (ECI), terming them as a 'deliberate attempt to erode public trust in a constitutionally mandated institution'.
Despite repeated clarifications from the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar that no eligible voter will be deleted during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, the Opposition continues to peddle falsehoods.
The BJP leader accused Mr. Gandhi of 'leading an endless drama' designed not to protect voters but to malign the credibility of the Election Commission. Neither the EC nor the voters will be cowed down by such 'manufactured slander', since credibility people of India have faith in free and fair elections, he added.

Chief minister Rekha Gupta on Sunday slammed the 'previous' Delhi government for obstructing the city's development by preventing central government benefits from reaching people. This is the real face of the BJP,' former Delhi chief minister and AAP leader Atishi said in a post on X. The CM said that under the leadership of PM Modi, Delhi has received support in the form of various schemes over the last decade. 'These schemes and this assistance were never fully implemented by the previous government, but even so, the Centre's contribution continues to play a historic role in strengthening Delhi's infrastructure,' she said. 'The inauguration of the Dwarka Expressway and UER-II will give new wings to Delhi's speed. Who would have thought that the journey from Singhu Border to the airport could be completed in just 40 minutes? Who would have imagined that the dreaded traffic jams of Mukarba Chowk, Dhaula Kuan and NH-8 could be overcome so smoothly?,' she added. Slamming the BJP for 'cheap politics', Atishi said, 'BJP is openly insulting Dalit sanitation workers. Forcing them under the guise of work and sending them to rallies is illegal and inhuman. MCD commissioner Ashwini Kumar should also face action. BJP has deceived the people of Delhi as well.'

'Today I am going to tell you that truth. In Delhi, there was a dangerous law in the Delhi Municipal Corporation Act. There was a clause that if a safai mitra (sanitation worker) skipped work without informing beforehand, he or she could be jailed for a month. Think about it, what did they think of safai karmacharis? You will put them in jail for a small mistake? They now talk big about social justice. They made and kept such laws. It is Modi who is removing these laws and repealing them,' he said. PM Modi alleged that 'those who dance with the Constitution on their heads' had 'trampled' the Constitution and 'betrayed' the sentiments of BR Ambedkar, by retaining oppressive laws for decades until he repealed them. The Prime Minister said that previous governments treated safai karamcharis like slaves. 'I am telling you the truth of how those who dance with the Constitution on their heads trampled the Constitution and betrayed Babasaheb Ambedkar. You will be shocked. It is Modi who is tirelessly finding and abolishing such unjust laws and this campaign continues relentlessly,' the PM said. An MCD official, on condition of anonymity, said that the DMC Act was passed in 1957 and many of its provisions have become archaic and outdated. 'A process of decriminalising various provisions of the Act is being undertaken. Many old and archaic provisions are being removed.' Last year, the MCD had asked all its departments to give suggestions on decriminalising the Act. The decision is being implemented in the direction of the Centre, aiming to reduce the sentence or imprisonment period for various violations. According to the DMC Act, defaulters are expected to face imprisonment for violations in many cases, such as tax payment, obtaining licences from the public health department, illegal construction or encroachments, and violation of advertisement norms (including placing illegal advertisements). 'Though there are barely any instances where we are using the imprisonment conditions, these sections no longer make sense,' the official said. Reacting to the PM Modi's inauguration event, Delhi Congress chief Devender Yadav said, 'BJP issued an order to fill the empty seats in the PM's rally. The level of BJP has dropped so much that now they are taking advantage of the helplessness of government employees to hide its failure.' Even as the AAP and Congress alleged that sanitation workers and teachers were ordered to attend the rally, MCD officially maintained that no official order was issued to workers in this regard.

ECI begins uploading omitted voter names in Bihar
Synopsis Following a Supreme Court directive, the Election Commission of India has begun publishing lists of voters omitted from draft electoral rolls in Bihar, categorized as Absentee, Shifted, Dead, or already registered. These lists are available on district electoral officer websites, enabling verification and objection filing with Aadhaar proof. PTI New Delhi: Four days after the Supreme Court's directive, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has started publishing the names of voters omitted from the draft electoral rolls following the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in Bihar. The lists are now available on the websites of the respective district electoral officers (DEOs).The omitted voters are broadly categorised as Absentee, Shifted, and Dead (ASD), along with those marked as "Pahle Se Panjikrit" (already registered). The inclusion of EPIC numbers has made it easier for genuine voters to search for their names. As per the information available, anyone dissatisfied with their omission can file an objection, accompanied by a copy of their Aadhaar card. Initial data from Bihar's Seemanchal region shows that the number of omitted voters under each category varies significantly from booth to example, at a booth located at Madhya Vidyalaya, Dalmalpur, Uttar Bhag, in the Amour Assembly seat (Purnea district, part of Muslim-dominated Kishanganj Lok Sabha seat), out of 228 total voters, 117 have been listed under Absentee, 65 under Dead, 39 under Shifted, and 7 under Already at Madhya Vidyalaya, Champa Bareli booth in the Baisi Assembly seat, 76 voters have been marked as omitted - 38 as Absentee, 22 as Shifted, 15 as Dead, and 1 as Already Registered. At Kanya Madhya Vidyalaya, Madhbani (Uttar Bhag), located in the Purnea Assembly seat, 161 voters were listed, with 40 marked as Absentee, 82 as Dead, and 35 as opposition parties had demanded that the ECI release separate lists of voters in each of the ASD categories who were omitted from the rolls."It will now be easier for us to verify which voters do not fall under the ASD categories in different booths. There are living voters who have been marked as dead," said Abhay Sinha, Purnea district general secretary of RJD, the state's main opposition the publication of the omitted voters' list, Sinha added that the RJD's BLA 2 representatives, stationed across various booths, will now actively verify the omissions. "We have very little time for this task. We may request the ECI to extend the deadline for submission of objections and claims," he said.
