Caitlyn Jenner supporting Sophia Hutchins' mother as her late longtime friend is laid to rest

Yahoo3 days ago
Caitlyn Jenner is supporting Sophia Hutchins' mother, following her daughter's passing. The 75-year-old star was left devastated earlier this month when her longtime friend and manager passed away in a tragic all-terrain vehicle (ATV) crash, and Caitlyn is said to have become a rock of support for Sophia's mother, Amy, and has offered her a place to stay in California. According to TMZ, Amy has laid Sophia to rest at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Culver City, Los Angeles. Caitlyn and Amy are said to be "leaning on each other for support" following Sophia's passing. Documents obtained by the website have also found Sophia's cause of death has been deferred. Sophia, who was just 29 years old, is believed to have collided with a car while riding an ATV on a road close to Caitlyn's property in Malibu, California on July 2nd. It is said she was pronounced dead at the scene, and no one else is believed to have been injured in the accident. Caitlyn is yet to publicly comment on the tragedy, and it is not known whether was at home at the time of the accident. Earlier this month, Caitlyn was said to be "numb with shock" over Sophia's passing. A source told RadarOnline.com: "Caitlyn is numb with shock. She is absolutely devastated and can't believe what's happened. Sophia was a big part of her life." Sophia took over managing Caitlyn's career in 2017 following the reality star's divorce from Kris Jenner. She appeared in her reality show I am Cait and even lived with the star at her Malibu home. Sophia explained the career move in an interview with the New York Times in 2019, insisting she just wanted to protect her friend at a vulnerable time in her life. She told the publication: "I saw nobody was managing her, and there were all these people taking massive advantage. "And I was saying: 'Caitlyn, if I don't step in here and start managing you, you're going to go broke'. "Caitlyn is a parent to me. I have said that a million times. It is a parental, familial relationship."

It's an email, I say, reply all, 'Sure, who doesn't?' I mean, it's not Strawberry Shortcake, but I'll take it,' she recounted on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Fallon confirmed, 'Oh, Rihanna is Smurfette?' Lyonne quipped, 'Turns out, I'm not. I'm a character called Mama Poot. Well, it's okay. I'm older now, and that's what they mean. 'Women, don't age in Hollywood or you'll become Mama Poot.' The character they showed me is a hairball with one bottom snaggle tooth, not even a top (tooth). 'They're looking at me like, 'Isn't this charming that you guys seem so similar?' I said, 'Yeah, no, it's definitely going to help me get dates, I'm sure,'' added Lyonne. 'And guys, it's not about this, but I just want to remind everyone that I have a full set of real teeth. And I'm really proud of that. Not Mama Poot, though!' 'City High' Singer Robbie Pardlo Passes Away at 46

Source: Ethan Miller / Getty We are sad to report that Robbie Pardlo, a former member of the R&B trio City High, has passed away at the age of 46. A rep for the singer confirmed to TMZ that he passed away on July 17, surrounded by family and close friends in Willingboro, NJ. A cause of death has not been determined. Robbie Pardlo was more than just a talented vocalist; he was a compassionate soul whose music touched millions. Before his rise to fame with City High, Robbie lent his voice to Whitney Houston's 1999 hit 'My Love Is Your Love,' a track that achieved double platinum status and remains a fan favorite. Forming City High with Claudette Ortiz and Ryan Toby in the late 1990s, the group gained widespread recognition with their debut single, 'What Would You Do?' The thought-provoking anthem peaked in the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 and earned a Grammy nomination. Their self-titled debut album, released in 2001, featured additional hits like 'Caramel' and 'City High Anthem.' Despite their success, the group disbanded shortly after, leaving behind a lasting impact on R&B and hip-hop fans. Robbie's life after City High was marked by personal challenges. During the group's peak, he faced emotional turmoil stemming from a relationship with bandmate Claudette Ortiz, who later married their fellow member Ryan Toby. This heartbreak contributed to Robbie's battle with alcoholism, a struggle he openly shared during his appearance on A&E's reality series Intervention in 2010. The show highlighted his journey from the depths of his addiction to his eventual recovery. Survivors include his mother, Marion, brother Gregory, wife Anika, and children Lyric & Chord-Andrew. Funeral arrangements are pending. RELATED: Rest In Power: Notable Black Folks Who We've Lost In 2025 SEE ALSO 'City High' Singer Robbie Pardlo Passes Away at 46 was originally published on

Wendy Williams Makes Her B'Day Wish: "Out Of Guardianship!"

Michael Simon It's interesting how society has come to learn what a conservatorship means, particularly due to the fact that most of us first witnessed one through the lens of a troubled celebrity. For one, women seem to be placed under guardianships at a way higher rate than men, and obviously that's not because all male celebrities are simply sane (see: Charlie Sheen, Kanye West, Antonio Brown). However, the conversation gets deeper when you bring race into the mix. While pop icon Britney Spears had a rally of fans strong enough to get her 13-year conservatorship ended, and teen queen actress Amanda Bynes had support from family to end the nine-year conservatorship she was placed under at just 27 years old — two idols of white America, mind you — the odds don't seem to be as bright in the situation we're currently seeing take over the life of once-reigning (and melanated) daytime diva Wendy Williams over the past three years and counting. This all comes on the heels of Wendy's milestone 61st birthday today (July 18), and you can probably take a wild guess at what her biggest b'day wish would be if she had things her way. RELATED: Wendy Williams Returns To Instagram: 'My Career Is NOT Over' TMZ was able to catch the golden lady of the day as she headed to dinner at Delmonico's in New York City last night (July 17). Longtime fans of The Wendy Williams Show will notice from the clip captured by the outlet (seen above) that she was being accompanied by the show's former executive producer, Suzanne Bass. More on the cheery pre-birthday interaction below, via TMZ : 'In true Wendy fashion she was dressed to the nines and in high spirits outside the steakhouse — and she didn't hold back when asked what she's wishing for this year, saying without hesitation … 'out of guardianship.' The candid comment is her latest public plea to be released from the legal arrangement that has controlled her personal and financial affairs since 2022. As we've reported, Wendy was placed under a court-ordered guardianship amid concerns about her health and capacity to manage her life independently.' Details behind the 'why' have been cemented in the media for years now, so no need to rehash what's already understood about Wendy's recovering health journey. What matters the most is the now, and in recent months we have all witnessed Wendy looking coherent, clear-minded and even giving a glimpse of her jovial personality that made watching her spew gossip from a big purple chair every afternoon such a pleasurable experience for millions of viewers across the nation. Why can't the rally cries of her still-loyal fans be heard in a similar fashion to how the court took notice of The Britney Army? As Wendy celebrates a very special birthday today, we absolutely hope that her wish is granted sooner rather than later.
