Sitaare Zameen Par Box Office Collection Day 18: Aamir Khan's movie sees drastic fall in Monday earnings, mints...
Sitaare Zameen Par Box Office Collection Day 18: Aamir Khan's movie Sitaare Zameen Par saw a drastic fall in its earnings on Monday, Day 18, keeping the movie away from the prestigious ₹ 150 crore mark for at least another day. The movie had a significant hold on urban cities, but is now facing tough competition from Anurag Basu's Metro In Dino, which, too, focuses on the same target audience. However, metro cities' potential is being hit by stiff competition from the Hollywood biggies—Jurassic World Rebirth and Brad Pitt's F1. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Sitaare Zameen Par earned a meagre ₹ 70,00,000 till 6 PM on Monday, Day 18. This means that the movie's total earnings remain below the ₹ 150 crore mark, at ₹ 149.4 crore. These are just early estimates from Sitaare Zameen Par's Monday earnings. The numbers will be revised later to include evening and night show collections. Therefore, a decent jump in the second half of the day may help the Aamir Khan and Genelia D'Souza starrer to cross the mark by the end of the day. By the end of Saturday, Day 16, the movie had collected ₹ 142.55 crore, of which its Tamil version garnered ₹ 74,00,000 and its Telugu variant earned ₹ 44,00,000. Sitaare Zameen Par saw an overall 7.97% occupancy on July 7. For the Hindi version, the occupancy was as follows: The numbers for the evening and night shows are yet to be released. Chennai, Jaipur, Bengaluru, Lucknow, and Mumbai recorded the highest footfall for the day. Sitaare Zameen Par, directed by RS Prasanna, has earned a solid ₹ 231.5 crore globally in 17 days. Its overseas collection stood at ₹ 53.75 crore, while its India gross was ₹ 177.75 crore. The numbers are yet to be updated for Day 18.

'Resigned In April, But AIFF Asked Me To Stay Till June': Manolo Marquez Reveals Reasons Behind Departure
Last Updated: Former India football coach Manolo Marquez resigned in April, but the AIFF convinced him to stay until June. He led India in eight matches with only one win. Former India men's football head coach Manolo Marquez has revealed that he initially submitted his resignation in April, but the All India Football Federation (AIFF) persuaded him to extend his tenure for a few more months. The Spaniard took over the national team following the abrupt departure of Igor Stimac in early 2024. Marquez led India in eight matches during his brief stint, managing only one victory—a 3-0 win over the Maldives in a friendly encounter. His tenure came to an abrupt end after the AIFF Executive Committee, during its meeting in the national capital, agreed to relieve Marquez, despite having a year left in his contract. But, it has now been revealed by Marquez himself, that he desired to leave much earlier. 'I resigned in April, but they asked me to do it in the June window. They tried to convince me for a month to continue at the head of the Indian national team," Marquez said in an interview with Spanish outlet Marca. Marquez's exit came after India's underwhelming start to the AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers. The Blue Tigers were held to a draw against Bangladesh in their opening game and suffered a last-minute 0-1 defeat to Hong Kong, thereby putting both the coach and the team under immense scrutiny. Despite the disappointing outcomes, Marquez emphasized that the poor results weren't the sole reason for his departure. 'I didn't want to leave because of the bad results. In fact, they tried to convince me for a month to continue. It seems that they have now accepted my initial decision," he added. 'Coaching the Indian national team was the dream of my life. But when you see that all teams do not play by the same rules, you feel that this is not your place." 'I admit that I have done things wrong, but if the results had improved, I would probably still be in office," he explained. Marquez first arrived in India ahead of the 2020–21 Indian Super League (ISL) season to take charge of Hyderabad FC, and under his leadership, they clinched the ISL title in 2022. Following his success with Hyderabad, Marquez took over as head coach of FC Goa, eventually leading them to a Super Cup, while also managing the national side in a dual role since early 2024.

"I First Ate Churros Here At 4 Am": Matt Preston's Favourite Churros Place Is In Spain
Australian food critic and writer Matt Preston, most popular for judging several seasons of MasterChef Australia, has shared one of his favourite places in the world to enjoy authentic churros. For the unversed, churros are a popular dessert originating from Spain and Portugal. These are long, fried dough pastry sticks that are soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. After frying to golden brown, churros are rolled in a cinnamon-sugar mixture and served with delicious chocolate sauce. In his post, Matt Preston shares glimpses from Chocolateria San Gines, one of Madrid's most iconic chocolate shops, known for its chocolate with churros. Preston shares that this is the first place where he ate churros 17 years ago and that too at 4 in the morning. Located in the vibrant Cais Sodre neighbourhood, this cafe offers an authentic churros and chocolate experience in a relaxed and modern environment. In the video, Preston can be seen enjoying lots of churros with chocolate sauce served in a cup. He can also be seen playing with the churros, pretending to eat the entire stick at once and placing it like a funny moustache on his face. Asking for more such churro cafes, Preston wrote, "I first ate churros here at 4 am, 17 years ago. Then it was just a doorway under an arch with a couple of tables. Now it's consumed the block. It's an old favourite, but where do you think serves the best churros in the world?" Watch the video here: View this post on Instagram A post shared by Matt Preston (@mattscravat) The comments section is flooded with recommendations for churro spots and appreciation for Preston's post: Commenting on the video, popular Chef Audra Morrice wrote, "It was my best breakfast ever in Barcelona! A foodie recommended, "Churreria Alhambra, in Granada (pl Bib-Rambla, 27). They are exquisite and by far the best we've ever tried. Vivan los churros!!" Another chimed in, "A churreria in Talavera de la Reina (Castilla-La Mancha) called Churreria Mariana. Amazing churros y porras." An Instagram user shared, "There's a little Spanish restaurant in Ballarat called Cafe Meigas, my son says they have the best churros and chocolate sauce."
