Devastated family pay tribute to ‘beautiful baby' girl, 11, who was killed by Ford Transit van while crossing road
THE family of a schoolgirl who was tragically killed in a horror crash as she crossed the road have begged for answers as they pay tribute to their "beautiful baby."
Elemie Wainwright was hit by a white Ford Transit van in Mosborough just before 17:00 BST on Thursday June 12.
The 11-year-old was rushed to hospital but tragically died a short time later despite the best efforts of medics.
A 27-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of death by dangerous driving and other traffic offences, he has since been released on bail.
Cops are working to support Elemie's family and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
The tragic crash left the Elemie's family reeling, they released a statement begging witnesses to come forward.
Police are continuing to probe the horror crash after a man was released on bail.
Elemie's heartbroken family, from Sheffield, have released a statement saying: "Our baby girl, our life and soul, with the biggest smile, the biggest heart, you were the kindest, most sweetest, most beautiful baby girl.
"We have no words right now, but we beg that if anyone knows any information, no matter how insignificant you think it is, please come forward.
"As parents, we need answers for our baby girl. Please, look at her photo, look at her smile, it's the least our baby deserves."
Police are urging anyone who witnessed the horror to come forward and assist with their investigation.
A South Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "Our officers continue to support Elemie's family and our work to investigate the circumstances that led to Elemie's death is continuing.
"A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of death by dangerous driving and traffic offences. He remains fully co-operating with officers and has been released on police bail at this time.
"We are continuing to appeal to witnesses, or those with dashcam footage or information to come forward and assist us with our inquiry.
"Our thoughts remain with Elemie's family, friends and all those that loved her at this difficult time."

Zivan 'Stipe' Radmanovic and Sanar Ghanim shot in Bali: Hitman arrested
A man has been arrested after two Australian underworld figures were shot in a suspected gangland hit in Bali. Zivan 'Stipe' Radmanovic, 35, and Sanar Ghanim, 34, from Melbourne, were shot just after midnight on Saturday at a villa in Munggu, in Badung Regency in Bali's south. Radmanovic died at the scene after he was shot twice in the chest and once in the foot, while Ghanim was left fighting for life in Kuta's BIMC Hospital after he was shot seven times and beaten. A man believed to be a hitman is being interrogated at Badung Police Station following the fatal shooting. 'We have arrested one alleged perpetrator at 3am and he is being interrogated at Badung Police Station now,' a police source told Daily Mail Australia. A second gunman remains on the run. The killers - one was said by a witness to have had a 'thick Australian accent' - were seen fleeing the villa on scooters. On Sunday afternoon, Ghanim was released from hospital and was seen being pushed out in a wheelchair surrounded by several staff before he was helped into the back of a car, his leg heavily bandaged. Ghanim and his partner have been living in Bali for some time. Radmanovic and his wife - the pair have six children - are understood to have gone there in the past two months to celebrate Radmanovic's wife's 30th birthday. Police found 17 bullet casings and 55 bullet fragments at the scene. Former homicide detective Charlie Bezzina said while the attack was brazen, it was also very calculated. 'They're not concerned about witnesses, (with) the fact that she's remained alive,' he said. 'You can imagine a situation as this, is highly volatile. They run in, they're highly obtained with their adrenaline and they're rushing out. 'The fact they've had access to a firearm, it appears they're well-connected. They have information of where they were living, in their villa, so they've certainly done their homework.' There are concerns the gunmen could have gone straight to the nearby airport and immediately flown out of the country as police were still rushing to the scene. Ghanim, who served time in prison after being linked to a 2015 shooting, is the former partner of Danielle Stephens - stepdaughter of slain Underbelly drug kingpin Carl Williams. The couple had a daughter together. Radmanovic was a career criminal with a lengthy list of 175 court appearances, and was at the villa with his partner Jazmyn Gourdeas who witnessed the ruthless attack. Her sister, Daniella Gourdeas, is linked on social media to assassinated Melbourne gangster Sam 'The Punisher' Abdulrahim. Ghanim is said to have been in the villa with his wife, identified only by local police as Daniella, when the gunmen struck. The Gourdeas family link to Abdulrahim comes five months after the notorious gangster was also gunned down in an underworld hit in a hotel car park in Melbourne's north. The bikie-turned-boxer had previously been the target of three murder contracts, a prison bashing, three assaults, a dozen fire bombings and seven shootings. Radmanovic appeared to be a devoted dad who loved his mum, but a touching family picture of him in October 2020 revealed he was wearing an electronic ankle monitor on his left leg. In Victoria, ankle monitors are most commonly worn by suspected major drug dealers who can afford the expensive self-funded devices worn while on bail. Radmanovic shared a close bond with his stepchildren, particularly Ms Gourdeas' daughter Olympia, now aged five. He began dating Ms Gourdeas when Olympia was eight months old and described becoming a stepdad as the 'biggest blessing' in an emotional tribute for the youngster's first birthday. 'I can't wait to watch you grow and become the amazing and gorgeous girl that I know you will become,' Radmanovic wrote to his stepdaughter on Facebook. 'You, your siblings and your mum Jazmyn Gourdeas are the biggest blessing in my life and I'm so grateful for you all coming into my life!! I love you Olympia and I hope you have a beautiful day princess!!' Radmanovic's social media is littered with family pictures of his wife, stepchildren, mother and grandmother. In one picture, where he embraced his grandmother, who he affectionately called 'Baba', he thanked her for making 'me the man I am today'. 'I love you with all my heart baba, words can't describe how much I appreciate everything you've done for me,' he wrote. In another picture, Radmanovic posed with his mother and wrote: 'I love you with all my heart and soul.' On the night of the brutal shooting, The Bali Tribune reported Radmanovic's wife was asleep when she heard her husband screaming at 12.15am. Peeking out from behind a blanket, she saw a man wearing an orange jacket and a second man gunning down her husband in the toilet. Images from the villa show a man, believed to be Radmanovic, lying motionless next to a toilet. Moments later, Ms Gourdeas heard more gunfire before Ghanim screamed. It's understood Ghanim suffered seven gunshot wounds in his bed before Ms Gourdeas tried to stop the bleeding as they waited for emergency services to arrive. '[She] ran out of the room and shouted when she saw Sanar was bleeding and went back to the toilet to check her husband's condition by checking his pulse,' an unnamed Bali Police officer told local media. 'After seeing the perpetrator escape outside the villa, this witness helped the victim of Sanar stop the bleeding.' A fourth person in the villa - believed to be another family member - told police she saw a gunman in a green jacket wearing a mask and a helmet burst into their room. She heard more gunshots and a window being smashed before the hit squad ran from room to room in the villa as she fled for her life. 'The witness ran out the villa before she saw two motorcycles [or scooters] parked outside while she heard more gunshots,' added the police officer. '[She ran to] the main road where she asked for help.' By the time bystanders had calmed the down and taken her back to the villa, police were already on the scene. The gangland connection has fuelled speculation the shooting was a targeted attack. Bali Police Chief Inspector Daniel Adityajaya said on Sunday they were liaising with Australian Federal Police on the investigation. 'Our team are still working on it,' he told Daily Mail Australia. 'We have coordinate with the Immigration, the Australian Federal Police, the forensic team, and many other institution to uncover this case.' Badung Police chief Arif Batubara added: 'We are currently still in the investigation phase. 'The forensic lab team is also still conducting a comprehensive investigation in the field. 'The investigation also involving Indonesia Automatic Fingerprint Identification System (INAFIS team), mobile brigade (Brimob), the forensic lab, K9 unit (dog unit), and rapid response unit (Sabhara). 'The National Police Headquarters (Mabes) is also assisting. From the crime scene investigation conducted yesterday, several bullet holes were found at the scene.' Photos taken at the scene showed the area taped off, while a trail of blood stained the step at the doorway to the villa. Radmanovic's body was taken to Prof. Ngoerah Hospital in Bali for an autopsy. The Bali attack comes after exiled Melbourne tobacco overlord Kazem 'Kaz' Hamad is suspected by Australian underworld figures of ordering the hit on Abdulrahim. Abdulrahim reportedly went into hiding in May 2024 after narrowly escaping an ambush outside his northern suburbs home, where gunmen shot at him 17 times. In his last weeks alive, Abdulrahim was said to have become 'something of a ghost' as he moved between Melbourne, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand. It's understood Abdulrahim flew into Melbourne the day before his as-yet unsolved murder. Hamad rules his criminal empire from the Middle East with violence and extortion and underworld sources say the ruthless kingpin has the means to order an offshore hit. Abdulrahim's dwindling allies were believed to have gone into hiding themselves after his murder.

EXCLUSIVE Revealed: Chilling joke made by 'selfless' mother, 48, before she plunged 15,000ft to her death during tandem sky dive - as heartbroken family demand 'justice'
A mother-of-four who plunged to her death during a tandem sky dive chillingly made a joke that she was daring to jump on 'Friday the 13th', her heartbroken family have revealed. Belinda Taylor, from Totnes in Devon, fell 15,000ft dive to her death alongside an instructor in a 'tragic accident' at Dunkeswell Airfield, in Devon, on Friday. The 48-year-old's son, Elias, 20, said she had become more 'adventurous' after meeting her new boyfriend Scott Armstrong, who brought the jump for her as a present. Elias, a university student who lives in west London, described his mother, 48, as 'selfless', telling MailOnline: 'She really just put everyone above herself. It's really difficult for (younger sister) Emily as she was the one living there with mum. 'I spoke to her a week before it happened. 'It's kind of weird thinking about it now, but at the time obviously she was saying how the jump would take place on Friday 13th and all those things ... you don't really expect what happened to happened. 'She was mentioning it in a jokey way. 'It's all still a bit of a shock. Recently she had (boyfriend) Scott and two of his kids, and looked after them. She was getting more adventurous with him, kayaking and stuff, looking to have that excitement and have more fun. 'She talked for ages and ages, and always wanted to have a chat. She was such a positive person.' He added: 'We just want answers about what happened and how it could have happened. 'We want as much information as possible, we feel like it would help us be at peace.' Grieving partner Mr Armstrong has demanded information about what caused the tragedy, which saw Ms Taylor and her instructor die on Friday afternoon and is now being probed by the British Skydiving Board of Inquiry. The instructor, named by The Telegraph as Adam Harrison had worked as a skydiving instructor since September 2020. The 30-year-old, who has been described by his sister as 'wonderful', was also training as a chiropractor. In a tribute, Mr Harrison's sister, Amy Harrison extended her condolences to Ms Taylors family. She said: 'Adam had built a sterling reputation as a professional instructor, and we take comfort in knowing that he would undoubtedly have done everything in his power to avert any crisis.' Ms Taylor's ex-husband Bachir Baaklini was in tears as he described wanting 'justice' for Ms Taylor, with whom he shares two biological children, Elias and Emily, 13. Speaking at his family home in west London, Mr Baaklini told MailOnline: 'We want her to rest in peace but we need justice. 'This should not have happened. We have got to know why the kids lost their mum.' Mr Baaklini, a restauranteur of Lebanese origin, described how the pair had a 'really good, positive' relationship in the last five years, and that Ms Taylor particularly got on with his wife. He laughed as he recalled: 'I used to see her every two or three weeks, she used to speak to my wife more than me. 'Every time I send her a message of two words or something, she will send a five-or ten-minute voice note. 'The minute I answer back she sends another ten-minute message, so I left it to my wife. 'My wife and her got on really well. 'But I feel really guilty because I am not going to hear her voice again. 'She came and stayed with us two or three weeks ago because she came to pick Emily up.' He added: 'She had two step sons and they call me 'dad', today is Father's Day and they messaged me. We all got on so well.' Mr Armstrong revealed how he watched in horror as it happened - after buying her the jump as a present. He wrote on social media: 'I want answers. Today, they took my world away.' He added: 'I miss you so much, you were my best friend, thank you for everything you done for me. From making my children feel at home to putting up with my mess. 'I'm so lost without you. There's just so much that I don't have the words to express it. I feel so lost i dont know where home is without you.' He has also described buying the sky dive jump experience for Ms Taylor, also a grandmother-of-two, as a 'thank you' gesture - and witnessed what happened it alongside his nine-year-old son. Belinda Taylor's grieving partner Scott Armstrong has paid tribute to her on Facebook He told the Mirror: 'The plan was to do a 7,000ft jump, but at the last minute she said she wanted to do a 15,000ft one, so I paid the extra money. They were the last group to go up. 'I found Belinda and the instructor lying there, still together, both clearly dead. It was a horrific sight. 'I miss her so much. I'm so lost without her. She meant the world to all of us and we'll never forget her. 'She was an adrenaline junkie and an adventurer. She'd done kayaking and all sorts.' A friend told MailOnline that Mr Armstrong was 'not in a good place'. They said: 'He's absolutely devastated. He knows something's not right. 'He's not a silly boy, he knows when something's wrong. 'She had never done it before. It was something she always wanted to do so Scott paid for it for her. 'He's absolutely traumatised and that she's gone.' Meanwhile, other tributes to Ms Taylor have been given - with her eldest son Connor Bowles telling DevonLive: 'On Friday, June 13, our family lost our mum Belinda Taylor. 'She was a mother of four children, three adult boys and one teenage girl, and a grandmother to two young children. 'She was a selfless woman who wanted only the best for others and especially her loved ones. 'She will be deeply missed and will leave an everlasting impression on all those she has met in life. 'We as a family would like to ask for peace and privacy during this time whilst we grieve our loss and remember our mum as we should do.' Ms Taylor had three adult sons and a teenage daughter, as well as welcoming Mr Armstrong's nine-year-old son. Other witnesses who were at the site on Friday have described the scene, with one saying: 'My husband and I were there when this awful tragedy happened. 'He was all harnessed up ready to do the next jump when they cancelled it and evacuated the area. 'The emergency services arrived incredibly quickly. British Skydiving chief executive Robert Gibson earlier posted online: 'Today, Friday 13 June 2025, British Skydiving has been notified of a tragic accident in which two jumpers lost their lives. 'Our deepest condolences go to their families, friends and the entire skydiving community. 'A British Skydiving Board of Inquiry will investigate the accident. 'Once complete, a report - setting out the Board's conclusions and any recommendations - will be submitted to the coroner, the police, the CAA, the British Skydiving Safety & Training Committee (STC) and any other relevant authorities. 'No further details will be provided at this time. We respectfully ask for privacy for all those affected at this difficult time.' Devon and Cornwall Police said: 'Emergency services were called to the area of Dunkeswell Aerodrome at around 1pm on Friday 13 June following concerns for the welfare of two people. 'It was reported that they were skydivers. They were sadly both confirmed deceased at the scene and their families have been informed. 'Scene guards remain in place and enquiries are ongoing by the relevant agencies. If anyone has information which may assist us, please call 101 or report via our website quoting 50250150193.' A spokesperson for the Civil Aviation Authority said: 'We are aware of the incident and of our thoughts are of course with the friends and family at this difficult time.' The CAA added they could not comment any further due to the ongoing investigation. They said: 'We will work closely with the relevant authorities to understand what happened and are awaiting the report into the incident.' It comes after a separate skydiver was feared to have taken her own life in a 10,000ft fall from the sky in Shotton Colliery, Co Durham. Jade Damarell, 32, an experienced parachutist who had accomplished more than 400 jumps, died instantly after hitting the ground during a jump at the base. Police quickly ruled out any suspicious circumstances and were understood to have discovered notes disclosing her intentions. MailOnline understands that Ms Damarell, from Caerphilly, south Wales, had broken up with her boyfriend the day prior to taking to the skies.

BREAKING NEWS Horror as woman is found stabbed to death near a shopping centre in Queensland
A man is assisting police after a woman was stabbed to death on Sunday afternoon in a small rural Queensland village. Police arrived at a house at Creekside Esplanade in Cooloola Cove, 220km north of Brisbane, at 7.15pm on Sunday to find a woman in her 50s stabbed. She was treated at the scene but died from her injuries. The Cooloola Cove area is home to about 3,000 people and the stabbing occurred in a residential estate just 100m from the town's shopping centre. On Monday, forensic police were seen at the home where the incident occurred. A man in his 50s was assisting police with their inquiries. A crime scene was declared and investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the death. Anyone with information was urged to contact police. More to come.
