Sarzameen follows the story of an Indian Army officer, whose worst fears come true when he learns that his estranged son has joined a militant group.
Ibrahim Ali Khan, Prithviraj and Kajol starrer Sarzameen has released on OTT and is getting mixed reviews. Recently, filmmaker Kayoze Irani broke his silence on the delay of his directorial debut. He shed light on the unexpected circumstances that pushed back the film's release, revealing that a serious injury to the leading man was the primary reason for the delay.
In an exclusive interview with TimesNow, Kayoze revealed the reason behind Sarzameen's delayed release. Kayoze said, 'In the middle of our shoot, Prithviraj sir was also shooting for some portions of a Malayalam film and broke his knee and was out for about six months. If he could shoot, it would be only talkie, and not action. So we had to wait."
He further added, 'The other big injury on the set was mine. I had a bad fall in Film City and a double Slip Disk. I couldn't get out of bed. For one schedule, I went to set with a walker. After I recovered, aligning everyone's dates caused a long delay."
Sarzameen follows the story of an Indian Army officer—played by Prithviraj Sukumaran—whose worst fears come true when he learns that his estranged son, portrayed by Ibrahim Ali Khan, has joined a militant group. The film attempts to explore generational trauma, ideological conflicts, and fractured familial bonds against the backdrop of a volatile region. Kajol also stars in the film in a supporting role, which has drawn its own share of criticism for its underwritten arc.
Recently, Prithviraj Sukumaran has announced his next project titled Khalifa. Taking to social media, the actor-director shared the first glimpse, sparking instant excitement among fans. Taking to his Instagram handle, Prithviraj Sukumaran shared the photo of a clapboard which has Khalifa written on it. 'Aamir Ali will see you soon," read the caption. The first schedule will start from August 6 in London. Pinkvilla has reported that it is a Malayalam-language movie, touted as a revenge thriller. The film, which was announced in 2022, is said to take place against the backdrop of a gold mafia and was earlier expected to be shot extensively in the UAE.

$7k worth of viral Labubu dolls stolen from Los Angeles store

Sources: iStock The growing frenzy around Labubu dolls, small, mischievous plush monsters designed by Hong Kong-born artist Kasing Lung and sold by Pop Mart, has taken a darker turn. This week, a group of masked thieves stole roughly $7,000 worth of the collectibles from a store in La Puente, California, about 18 miles east of Los Angeles. According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, the burglary occurred early Wednesday morning. Surveillance footage shows several individuals in hoodies and face coverings breaking in, rifling through shelves, and carrying out boxes of merchandise. Authorities say the suspects used a stolen Toyota Tacoma, which was later recovered, and the investigation is ongoing. The targeted store, One Stop Shop, posted on Instagram that thieves cleared out its entire Labubu inventory and left the premises in disarray. 'We are still in shock,' the owners wrote, urging the public to help identify the culprits. Source: Getty Images A toy that became an investment asset Labubu dolls, introduced about a decade ago, were initially adored for their quirky charm and playful designs. Retailing for around $20, they are sold in 'blind boxes,' meaning buyers don't know which version they'll get until after purchase. While the concept fuels excitement for some collectors, critics say the practice borders on gambling, preying on impulsive buying behaviors. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Learn More - How Donating Sperm May Boost Your Income SpellRock Undo What started as a harmless collectible craze has evolved into a high-stakes market. Limited supply, strategic product drops, and global hype have driven prices for rare editions into the thousands. One Labubu recently fetched over $10,000 in the secondary market. This growing value has attracted not only passionate fans but also opportunistic resellers and investors. Bots, scarcity, and skyrocketing prices Source: Getty Images As demand surged, savvy resellers began deploying automated bots to scoop up large quantities of Labubu dolls online within seconds, leaving everyday consumers with limited options. Many are forced to buy from secondary sellers at heavily inflated prices. Social media influencers and celebrities have further fueled demand, turning the dolls into status symbols and speculative assets. The result is a volatile collector's market, and, as the La Puente theft suggests, one that is increasingly attracting criminal attention. With more people treating Labubus like rare art or luxury goods, the pressure on supply and security is mounting. For now, the La Puente case remains open, but it's a stark reminder that the Labubu craze has moved far beyond toy shop shelves and into a space where money, scarcity, and crime intersect.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Pallav Paliwal (@pallav_paliwal) 'I see a lot of myself in Tarak. We have had very similar journeys for 25 years now, and I think Tarak sees a little bit of himself in me also. It is true when they say that he is a one-take final-take star. On set, Tarak, I have not just observed you, but I have learnt from you. I have learnt how to go into a shot 100% — not 99.99%, not 99.999, but 100%. Which is why when he comes out of a shot, there is no judgement on me. He will not even check the shot because he knows he has given everything to it. And I will apply that in my future films. Tarak, thank you for teaching me that," he said. About War 2 War 2's plot sets up an intense face-off between Hrithik Roshan's character, Major Kabir Dhaliwal, and Jr NTR's Vikram. Both are Indian spies but operate on vastly different interpretations of patriotism, leading to a clash that promises to be both physical and ideological. Kiara Advani steps in as Kavya Luthra, a character expected to play a pivotal role in the unfolding drama. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, War 2 serves as the sequel to the 2019 blockbuster War, which starred Hrithik Roshan, Tiger Shroff, and Vaani Kapoor. The first film was a runaway hit, praised for its slick action and stylish storytelling. This sequel is also a part of the growing YRF Spy Universe, which connects characters and narratives from films like Pathaan and Tiger Zinda Hai. view comments First Published: August 10, 2025, 21:33 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
