Cain is left reeling by news in Emmerdale - and it's not Nate-related
Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) has been so caught up in his grief over Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) in Emmerdale that he's so far not noticed what his granddaughter is going through.
In fairness to the grumpy mechanic, Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) has done her best not to let him know that she's in the middle of IVF, much less that she has cervical cancer.
It's Jacob who breaks the bad news to Cain in the most ham-fisted, Jacob-way possible. He assumes Cain knows and simply blurts it out.
Sarah arrives just as Cain gives Jacob the old Dingle talking to – frightening the living daylights out of the lad with a threat – leaving Cain kicking himself as his violent reaction drives a huge wedge between him and Sarah.

Jacob tries to console Sarah, but she confesses that Cain's negative reaction has her questioning whether she's doing the right thing. She's worrying about her own mortality, and it gives Jacob pause for thought – he takes her by surprise by offering to be her sperm donor. More Trending
While she contemplates the dilemma over whether to say yes, the day of her surgery arrives.
She and Charity face the day together, but Charity puts her foot in it just as Sarah is due to be wheeled away – revealing to the youngster that while she supports Sarah, she thinks it's the wrong decision.
Sarah is left distraught as she's taken down to surgery, leaving Charity (Emma Atkins) seeking support from Cain for her guilt.
But as Charity tries to console herself, they are hit with some devastating news – the surgery has gone wrong. What's happened to Sarah?

However, one of her shell earrings fell out of her earlobe, which seemed to have left her scrambling. She attempted to move the conversation to a new set of islanders as she declared" "Onto Helena and Harry now." But turning away from the panel, she gasped: "Oops, lost an earring". The director was forced to cut to a wide shot of the studio instead of the usual closeup as she tried to find the accessory on the sofa. Later the presenter made a second blunder when she seemed to mispronounce the name of one of the contestants. Malisha Jordan was previously dumped by bombshell Harrison Solomon on the long-running dating show. The star waved her arms up in the air in frustration after she immediately corrected the slip up. Some fans of Love Island were left somewhat confused as they took to social media after the blunder. This comes in the aftermath of a party that's been thrown at number 7 by Aadi Alahan (Adam Hussain). Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey) is at the party and he tells Dylan (Liam McCheyne) he has a bottle of LSD and he's planning to make some money by selling it. Dylan is worried about the repercussions of what Brody is planning. When Aadi sees that Brody has drugs he kicks him out of the party – but after Brody's gone, Aadi, Summer (Harriet Bibby) and Nina (Mollie Gallagher) prepare to take the drugs. While Nina and Summer go ahead, Aadi is distracted elsewhere and when he returns someone else has taken his share. Summer and Nina are soon feeling the effects of the drug and they wander outside and eventually find their way to the cafe. Roy (David Neilson) is away, so Nina lets them in to the darkened cafe. Suddenly they hear the sound of sirens and they cling to each other in a state of terror. Clearly something awful has happened, but the following day the girls only have a hazy recollection of what went on – though they know it was something bad. They retrace their steps in an effort to piece together the events of the previous night. Meanwhile, elsewhere someone else is in a very bad way after taking Aadi's share of the drugs the night before. News gets to Kit (Jacob Roberts) that there were drugs at the party, and Kit questions Aadi about what happened, what drugs were involved and who was supplying them. Will Aadi keep quiet about what happened? By now, Summer and Nina are panicking as they realise they witnessed something really bad on the night of the party. They agree that it's too late to tell anyone about it and their best course of action is to keep quiet and hope nobody asks them any questions.
