Emmerdale's Cain broken and bereft as more sad news hits the Dingles
As if he hasn't got enough going on, Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) received even more bad news in tonight's episode of Emmerdale. After learning that Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) had been killed and thrown in a lake, Cain has tried to process his grief, but he's been regularly interrupted by Tracy Shankley (Amy Walsh). Following the fight Cain and Nate had before he died, Tracy has now decided Cain killed his own son, and won't give the theory up. Yesterday, Cain arrived in the shop to speak with Tracy about Nate's funeral. He wanted to know what her plans were, but she said they involved not inviting him to the event. Cain was devastated. He tried to make himself feel better by judging Eric's (Chris Chittell) relationship with his own son, but the shop owner hit back and said that his son is alive, unlike Cain's. Eric knew that Cain was lashing out because he couldn't deal with the fact Nate died hating him. The comments made Cain tearful, it was obvious that Eric was right. Cain found solace in a bottle of Zak's homemade whisky, but then drank even more courtesy of John (Oliver Farnworth). He was looking for a high and needed to save someone, so he forced Cain to drink so much he passed out. Moira (Natalie J Robb) returned home just as John was putting Cain in the recovery position. He set him up with a drip, and told Moira that Cain just needs rest. Cain didn't leave the sofa in tonight's episode as he dealt with a hellish hangover. As a result, he got Sarah (Katie Hill) to sort the work that needed doing at the garage. When Charity (Emma Atkins) found out, she was annoyed at Cain. Charity now knows that Sarah has cancer, and knew she should be resting rather than doing her job. More Trending Charity marched over to Butlers and told Cain that Sarah wouldn't be at work for the foreseeable. He obviously wanted to know why and eventually, Charity revealed to him and Moira that Sarah has cancer…despite telling her granddaughter that she wouldn't tell them. The news hit Cain like a tonne of bricks. In the past few weeks alone, he's been told that his son is dead, his daughter Debbie (Charley Webb) moved to Australia without even telling him, and now his granddaughter has been diagnosed with cancer. Moira tried to comfort Cain, but it's certainly going to take him a little while to get his head around all of the upsetting news that keeps being thrown at him. Nate's body 'finally found' in Emmerdale - thanks to very unexpected person
No one yet knows that Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) has been languishing at the bottom of the Emmerdale lake, but they're about to. As far as the Dingles are concerned, Nate did a bunk months ago to Shetland, cutting contact with his wife and daughter except for the odd text, and driving the nail in the coffin by sending a third- party company to come and collect his belongings. So far, the Dingles have very strangely not questioned this, believing instead that family man Nate had had some kind of personality transplant and abandoned his loved ones. Cain (Jeff Hordley) even allowed himself to be talked out of heading to Scotland to look for him. But one Dingle is finally about to question things, much to John Sugden's (Oliver Farnworth) fear, and it all comes down to chance. Hard up and vengeful Tracy Shankley (Amy Walsh) is still using Nate's credit card, but when it's unexpectedly declined, Belle (Eden Taylor Draper) steps in to help. The two women chat, and it's Belle who starts to clock how out of character this behaviour is of Nate. After doing some digging, Belle later tells Sam (James Hooton) that Nate never arrived for his job in the Shetlands. This is pretty groundbreaking news, and Cain struggles to absorb this development. More Trending This is very bad for John, who desperately tries to convince Belle that Nate must be fine. He manipulates her into giving up her plan to report it to the police. Belle decides not to call the cops, realising it would impact Tracy and Frankie, and chooses instead to focus on the wedding. But things here are not done and John is not yet safe. As wedding prep gets underway, John is left panicked when he overhears Moira (Natalie J Robb) tell Cain the lake needs to be dredged. Moira's advice sees Cain make decision about dead Nate in Emmerdale ITVX release
The following article contains spoilers from an episode of Emmerdale that hasn't aired on ITV1 yet, but can be viewed on ITVX. Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) had a lot on his mind in tonight's episode of Emmerdale. Last week, the character learnt just how badly Tracy Shankley (Amy Walsh) has been struggling since Nate Robinson's (Jurell Carter) disappearance. Tracy told Cain that she doesn't understand why Nate is ghosting them and ignoring his young daughter Frankie. Cain could understand why Nate was pretending the adults in his life didn't exist – after all, the majority of them are Dingles. However, he knew him failing to contact Frankie wasn't like Nate in the slightest. He told Tracy that he'd go to Shetland to find Nate and get some answers, but things changed for him in a matter of hours. Due to the fact Nate's killer John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) learnt of Cain's plan to go to Shetland, he had to act fast to stop him from getting there. A man then arrived at Tracy's to collect Nate's belongings, a sign that he no longer wanted anything to do with his family in the Dales. Unaware of the truth, Cain spent tonight's episode trying to process his son's decision to completely start his life again elsewhere. At the garage, Moira reminded Cain that he has two other children in the village, who love spending time with him. Are you glad Moira forgave Cain after he slept with Ruby? She deserves better than him! Cain knew that Moira was making a good point and decided to join her, Kyle (Huey Quinn) and Isaac (Bobby Dunsmuir) for a game of football on the field. A while later, Cain apologised to Moira for being a pain (shock of the century), but she knew he was only feeling that way because of Nate. More Trending Moira pointed out that Nate might come back in the future but until then, Cain should continue being a loving father to his other sons. It was advice strong enough to impact Cain's mindset moving forward, as he later apologised to Kyle for being distant, and said he'll try and be a better dad. Both Kyle and Moira tried to make Cain feel better tonight by saying that Nate might come back. View More » Right now, Cain remains hopeful that he will but sadly, with Nate's body still laying at the bottom of a lake, the character is going to come back – but not in the way anyone expected. John saves an anxious Liam in early Emmerdale ITVX release
The following article contains spoilers from an episode of Emmerdale that hasn't aired on ITV1 yet, but can be viewed on ITVX. John Sugden (Oliver Farnwroth) found an opportunity to get his old job back in Emmerdale tonight, and he grabbed it with both hands. The complex character was revealed as Nate Robinson's (Jurell Carter) murderer a few weeks ago. The former member of the army gave Nate some medication after he was attacked, but he had a bad reaction to it and died. John then disposed of Nate's body in the lake. What we also know about John is that he has a hero complex. He orchestrates situations that he knows he can fix, and is then praised by the people around him. So far, he's put the likes of Chas (Lucy Pargeter) and Jacob (Joe-Warren Plant) in danger and then saved them. In tonight's episode, it was Liam's (Jonny McPherson) turn. John knocked Liam unconscious recently, believing he was Mackenzie (Lawrence Robb). He was quick on his feet though, and rushed into the scene to try and help him, looking like a good person in front of Chas and Aaron (Danny Miller). In tonight's episode, Liam's anxiety increased when Claudette (Flo Wilson) accidentally knocked a plant on the floor. The sudden smash brought Liam back to the moment where he was attacked, which caused him to become overwhelmed and struggle with his breathing. More Trending Sensing an opportunity, John swept in and helped Liam calm down. The incident happened moments after John told Liam he was quitting work at the surgery, so it suddenly seemed as though he was quite invaluable. Later on, in the café, Liam approached John and urged him to come back to work at the surgery. He said he really needed his help, and how it was clear patients would continue to benefit from his skills. John, playing it cool, said yes but made sure Liam knew they weren't completely back on the same page. Once again, John took advantage of a struggling resident to make sure he looked good. This decreases the chance of people ever growing suspicious about him but with Cain (Jeff Hordley) determined to find out why Nate isn't ringing him back, John will have more to worry about when the Dingles discover he never actually got to Shetland… View More » MORE: Killer John's next victim 'confirmed' in Emmerdale as he is goaded by major character MORE: John panics in Emmerdale as Cain edges closer to the truth about Nate MORE: PC Swirling issues major update on child killer Ella after attack in Emmerdale
