Josh Duhamel Surprises Local Firefighters After Playing One Onscreen

The Transformers star surprised the firefighters at Los Angeles Fire Department Station 88 with a donation of $28,000 and a Bobcat utility vehicle (UTV) in recognition of their service to their community, particularly during the devastating wildfires earlier this year.
'I'm so proud and grateful for the work our firefighters do in this town,' he told E! News' Francesca Amiker in an exclusive interview. 'I think anybody who lives here understands how important they are to this community.'
Having played a firefighter in the 2012 thriller Fire With Fire, the actor has long held the profession in high esteem—though he was quick to note that the real-life heroes are in a league of their own.
'Anytime you can meet the guys who do the actual deed, it helps you,' he explained. 'Playing a firefighter isn't quite actually fighting fire, so yes, I do learn from these guys. I really do admire them so much in the work that they do, so any chance I get to support them, I take that seriously.'

That's why Josh, a 2025 Brand Ambassador for the global equipment company, jumped at the opportunity to support his local fire station and its staff.
'I've been working with Bobcat now for six years or more, and they're always looking to do things to help communities big or small,' he continued. 'Anything that they can do to help these tremendous, heroic firefighters get the job done, keep people safe and prevent these things from spreading any further than they can.'
And the opportunity to give back has proven to be fulfilling for Josh as well.
'I just want to keep doing things that give me a purpose,' he shared. 'I feel like I always have to be building something. If I'm not building something, I'm kind of lost.'

‘In Your Dreams' Teaser: The Search for the Sandman Powers Netflix's New Animated Sibling Fantasy
Netflix dropped the teaser trailer for its animated Oscar-hopeful, 'In Your Dreams' (streaming November 14), the original comedy-fantasy about siblings trying to save their parents' marriage by enlisting the aid of the mythical Sandman. Former Pixar story artist Alex Woo ('WALL-E') directs with Erik Benson, another ex-Pixar story artist ('Toy Story 4'). The film is produced by Netflix Animation and Woo's Kuku Studios, with animation by Sony Pictures Imageworks. The voice cast is led by Cristin Milioti as the mom and Simu Liu as the dad. 'In Your Dreams' finds Stevie (voiced by Jolie Hoang-Rappaport) and her brother Elliot (voiced by Elias Janssen) discovering a magic book, which allows them to enter the wacky realm of their dreams, where the Sandman (Omid Djalili) can grant their wish for the perfect family. Along the way, they encounter Elliot's long-lost sarcastic stuffed giraffe, Baloney Tony (Craig Robinson), zombie breakfast foods, and Nightmara (Gia Carides), the Sandman's rival. He presented footage Thursday at the Annecy Animation Film Festival with production designer Steve Pilcher ('Soul') and VFX supervisor Nicola Lavender ('The Mitchells vs. the Machines'). Accompanying the sumptuous animation of the surreal landscapes are compelling themes of managing dual careers while being caring, nurturing parents, the importance of imagination and not giving up on your dream, and learning to cope with harsh realities as a part of growing up. And be careful what you wish for. Olivia Leedham—who shares son Kaden, 11, with the former Teen Mom star—lost her younger daughter Lailah after the child visited the emergency room several times without a diagnosis, a friend of the family said in a GoFundMe statement. She was just 7 years old. 'Our friend Olivia Leedham tragically lost her beautiful seven-year-old daughter, Lailah Price, yesterday,' the message read. 'While in the hospital Friday night, she had a seizure and passed away early Saturday morning, June 7th. We have been friends with this family for many years. Olivia grew up in Greencastle, Pennsylvania, and attended Greencastle schools.' After splitting from Olivia, Teen Mom star David married Jenelle Evans in 2017 before the couple separated in 2024. The former couple shares daughter Ensley, 8, who Jenelle currently has full custody of, as they continue to finalize their divorce.
