Meghan Markle 'rubbed salt in Harry's wounds' as she 'failed to help him heal'
Meghan Markle has been slammed for "rubbing salt in the wound" rather than backing her husband Prince Harry like her Royal equivalent the Princess of Wales, according to a Royal expert.
Kate Middleton has been hailed for serving as William's "strength and stay" and assisting him in "healing" his emotional scars, in stark contrast to the Duchess of Sussex, who allegedly has the "opposite effect" on the Duke.
Journalist and Michael Gove's former wife, Sarah Vine, urged the Royal Family to take inspiration from the late Queen's approach by "compartmentalising" feelings to prevent emotions from interfering with their judgement.
She suggested that by following Queen Elizabeth's example, they might eventually succeed in mending the fractured relationships "over time".
Vine argued that the Prince of Wales carries just as many emotional scars as Prince Harry and was fiercely protective of his younger brother, whilst simultaneously coping with their mother's death.
This made Harry's behaviour towards the Waleses "so painful and hard to forgive."
Writing in her Daily Mail column, she stated: "Instead of indulging his pain, feeding off it even, as Harry has done, he seems to have mastered it, channelling it into his royal roles and his family. Then again, he had slightly better luck - or judgment - than his brother, in that he had the good sense to marry the Princess of Wales.
"Without her stabilising and steadfast presence, who knows where he might be? As the late Queen said of Prince Philip, Kate has, quite simply, been William's strength and stay," reports the Scottish Daily Express.
She further commented: "Sadly, the Duchess of Sussex seems to have had the opposite effect on Prince Harry. Instead of helping him heal his emotional wounds, she seems to have re-opened them - or even rubbed salt in them, some might say.
"Instead of encouraging him to shape his own identity within the Royal Family, she has helped him turn his back on it. Which might have been fine if together they had embarked on something truly life-affirming. But they didn't.
"They've walked away, but they keep looking over their shoulders. They are obsessed with the very thing they supposedly hate, and that's never a good frame of mind to be in.
"Every venture the duke and duchess have undertaken since their departure has revolved around their royal status."
It comes as a meeting took place just last week between Prince Harry's chief communications officer, Meredith Maines, and King Charles III' s communications secretary, Tobyn Andreae.
Maines could potentially be Harry's 'secret weapon' when it comes to reuniting the Royal Family.
She was the one who arranged Prince Harry's BBC interview in May, where he expressed his desire for a reconciliation with the King and Prince William.
He confessed his caution of conflict and shared his concerns about Charles' health, admitting he did "not know how much longer [his] father has."

Jelena Dokic shares inspiring message with fans as she stuns in red dress while on holiday in Croatia
Jelena Dokic had all eyes on her on Monday in a bright red dress. The Aussie sports commentator and former tennis player took to Instagram to share a candid photo of herself along with a moving caption. In the picture, Jelena donned a ruby red dress with strappy sleeves and a midi-length skirt as she wore a giant smile in front of an ocean backdrop. The 42-year-old looked positively glowing as she swept her hair back into a bun while closing her eyes to shield them from the sun. Jelena, who is currently in Croatia, encouraged her followers to be 'authentically' themselves in the caption of the post. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. The Aussie sports commentator and former tennis player took to Instagram to share a candid photo of herself along with a moving caption 'Me, free and unapologetically myself,' she began. 'Be you. Be unapologetically you. You've got one life to live so live it free and be your unapologetic self,' she went on. Jelena told her fans to stop worrying about what people think about their body, hair, clothes and what they have, and instead embrace who they are wholly. 'You can't let the judgment of others stop you from being yourself. Their judgment says everything about them. 'But if you allow their judgment to affect you, change you or stop you from being you then you are not yourself anymore.' She added: 'You are then just some version of someone everyone else wants you to be. And you will never satisfy everyone anyway.' The inspiring post comes after Jelena went public with her new boyfriend earlier this month. The tennis champ has found love again after she was left 'shattered' in the aftermath of her split from her long-time boyfriend, Tin Bikic, in 2021. She revealed last year she was 'closed off' after the heartbreaking experience, which was another blow to her heart after the years-long abuse she suffered at the hands of her father, Damir Dokic. But things are looking up for Jelena after Yane Veselinov captured her heart, with the pair confirming their relationship in a sweet Instagram post. Jelena gushed over her man in the post, writing: 'You are my calm, safe, peaceful and happy place. So glad I found you.' The pair were first spotted cuddling up together at Melbourne Airport in May, with Jelena unable to wipe the grin off her face as she accepted an embrace from Yane.

Inside Celtic hero's bizarre feud with James Buckley as Inbetweeners star declares ‘we're at WAR'
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) JAMES BUCKLEY and Joe Hart are anything but football friends. The Inbetweeners star, who played Jay Cartwright in the popular English comedy series, has revealed he has declared WAR on the Celtic hero - for damaging his podcast set. Sign up for the Celtic newsletter Sign up 4 James Buckley wasn't impressed with Joe Hart 4 He and his Scottish wife Claire demanded an apology from the football star 4 He eventually apologised on social media after weeks of asking 4 But he couldn't resist another cheeky pop Buckley, 37, is now making a name for himself away from acting and in the world of YouTube and podcasting with his Scottish wife Claire. Two podcasts they have started together include In Sickness and in Health, and At Home With The Buckleys. And in their most recent episode of the latter, the pair took aim at Hart for his antics while filming his own podcast Footballers Unfiltered - in the same studio as the Buckleys. They now share a set down south and have locked horns in recent weeks over the retired goalkeeper's escapades. Back in May the couple jokingly slammed the former Celtic stopper for 'wrecking' their set while filming his own show. Since then they have both continuously aimed digs at Hart for the incident on various episodes, demanding an apology for the damage. And this week, Hart finally delivered. Taking to social media, he posted a video saying sorry for the damage he caused but couldn't resist a parting shot in the clip - as he BOOTED a stuffed teddy of Jay from the Inbetweeners. And that was the last straw for the actor turned podcaster as he took aim at the retired goalie - albeit tongue in cheek - with a message in their latest show. Addressing the video of Hart, he said: "We're at war by the way. Now we share a studio space with the goalkeeper Joe Hart. BBC Sport pundit shows off shock new look with fans convinced he has had hair transplant "Is he still playing?" Claire then chimed in and had the podcast crew in hysterics with her comment, saying: "Surely not. Not at that age!" James continued: "He did break our set a little bit. We called him out on it and he sent us a little video - I think it's an apology video. "It's supposed to be an apology video and he picks up our little Jay doll there and boots it across the room very hard and very aggressively. "I just thought 'let's go' and I'll tell you something Joe Hart, if you kicked like that when you were at Man City then Pep (Guardiola) might not have dropped you. "War has been declared and we will keep you updated. "We're going to brainstorm and put some thought and money into this." "Maybe just as a joke we arrange someone to tie him up and throw him into the back of a van or something like as a joke." ITV Love Island's Harry Cooksley has fans concerned over 'fetish' in latest episode
Love Island fans spotted a "weird" moment between Harry Cooksley and Shakira Khan on Monday night's episode as friends and family arrived in the villa. Love Island 's Harry Cooksley has sparked concern among viewers following a "weird" interaction with Shakira Khan in the latest episode. Monday night, July 28, saw friends and family join the Islanders in the villa. The duo recently became an item after Harry ended things with Helena Ford to pursue a relationship with Shakira. In an attempt to have "baby steps" their flirtation escalated in the dressing room during Monday's episode. A cuddle session led to a humorous moment where they tried to figure out which one of them was emitting an unpleasant odour, prompting Shakira to fetch some deodorant. Audiences were left shocked when Harry seemed let down as Shakira left his embrace to freshen up and then handed him the deodorant. Viewers soon took to Twitter, as one viewer wrote: "Harry having a fetish for armpits is diabolical." Another voiced their thoughts: "This armpit fetish of Harry is so weird oh my #loveisland." A third chimed in: "Harry's fetish for smell is concerning guys. #LoveIsland." Echoing the sentiment, a fourth added: "Harry really does have a weird armpit fetish #LoveIsland." This follows an earlier incident that had viewers feeling queasy when Harry's ex, Emma Munro, who left the villa last week, invited him to sniff her armpits. Around the fire pit, Emma discussed the "dangerous" intensity of their past connection and playfully suggested Harry smell her armpits, knowing his preference. Raising her arm, she teased: "Do you want a sniff?" and he responded: "You know I do." Emma quipped: "I know you liked to smell them" as the duo burst into laughter, before Harry admitted: "That took everything not to sniff your armpit there, it took all of me." Following the odd on-air moment, viewers rushed to social media in dismay, with one fan exclaiming: "Armpit sniffing... Harry has officially reached a new low." Another viewer commented: "Emma and Harry talking about how badly he wants to sniff her armpit on national TV I'm sick to my stomach." A different individual remarked: "WHAT IS GOING ON? ! Harry talking about how he really struggled to not sniff her armpit... one of the strangest things I've ever watched." Elsewhere, Harry's best pal Harry and mum Julia arrived in the villa in tonight's show alongside Shakira's sister Shanti and mum Sukina. Cutting to the core of recent issues, Shakira tells her family of Harry: 'I adore him and I really wish I didn't, that's the problem. It would be easier if I hated him, but I don't.' Her mum Sukina says: 'What I will say, with him, he can prove himself to you before he has to prove himself to me.' The other Islanders then watch on tenterhooks as the two families come together at the firepit. As Harry walks over to the Firepit ready to greet them, Helena's mum Sukina keeps her seat and tells him: 'We're not hugging Harry.' Sukina goes on to comment on him ending things with Helena, saying: 'I think the whole of the UK is [surprised]. I'm sorry, but we thought it was 'undeniable' Harry.'
