Charlie Sheen donates to Cincinnati brawl victim: 'Justice will reign supreme'
Charlie Sheen is supporting one of the victims of the Cincinnati brawl that went viral. Sheen, 59, responded to an X post from conservative YouTuber Benny Johnson, revealing that he was the anonymous $1,000 donor to an online fundraiser Johnson created for a woman named Holly, who was reportedly knocked unconscious during the violent brawl on July 26. "My Ohio connections run deep, and what happened to you will NOT be tolerated by the 'true' Ohioans (Like yourself), as justice will reign supreme," the note on the donation read, signed with Sheen's initials. "Heal well, young lady, and know that we are all rooting for you!" The "Two and a Half Men" alum's parents, actors Martin Sheen and Janet Sheen, were both born in Dayton, Ohio, although Janet Sheen grew up in Cincinnati. The couple met in school in New York City, where Charlie Sheen was born. Charlie Sheen's daughter says she hasn't talked to actor in months Johnson told Sheen he was "saving a life" with his donation. Sheen replied on X: "I was merely following your gracious lead." "The speed at which you and Sen (Bernie) Moreno hatched the donation plan, was stunning and compassionate and as patriotic as it gets," he continued. "You both reminded all of us of the America we remain proud to call home. Keep up the great work, and to Holly, 'we' have your six.'" Sheen said, referencing that they had her back, signing off the note with "xox. cs," his initials. Denise Richards' daughter Sami says she was bullied for looking like dad Charlie Sheen USA TODAY has reached out to Sheen's reps for further comment. A social media clip from the fight shows a man punching Holly, who has requested her last name be withheld due to threats she has been receiving, leaving her lying motionless on the ground until someone comes and helps her back up. Holly told The Cincinnati Enquirer, part of the USA TODAY Network, that she has been in and out of the hospital over the past 10 days and has suffered severe head trauma and a concussion. A video taken by a bystander shows that the fight involved separate disputes in different locations, with several people trying to end them. In one of the videos, a man who police say was a victim can be heard shouting racial slurs. Detectives have said that two of the six suspects coordinated the attack together. The specific timeline of how the fight began remains unclear. Within hours of the videos surfacing online, the images became part of a broader national argument about politics, crime and race. 'House of the Dragon' season 3 will be 'goddamn huge,' showrunner teases
We're used to Westeros going big, but "House of the Dragon" season 3 will be "massive," per a new production update from series creator Ryan Condal. When the "Game of Thrones" prequel series returns on HBO and HBO Max sometime in 2026, viewers will be thrown in the middle of a massive civil war between two opposing factions inside House Targaryen: Team Black (the contingent that supports Rhaenyra Targaryen as heir to the crown) versus Team Green (those that back her half-brother Aegon II Targaryen's claim to the Iron Throne). With on-location filming officially wrapped in Wales (the production will now move to in-studio sets in the U.K.), Condal gave an anticipated update on season 3 during a July 2025 episode of his podcast "The Stuff Dreams Are Made Of" with co-host David Mandel. "We're right in the middle of production. We've wrapped Wales, we're moving on to some huge things now that we've got going at the studio and then other locations that we're working on, so we've moved into that part of the schedule," Condal shared. "It gets pretty nuts here through July and August. So I will be rushing off to set tomorrow to do the beginning of some insane things that we're doing this month." He continued, "But yeah, we're right in the middle in the thick of it, and it's going great. I mean, the season is just goddamn huge. "Every day I walk around there and look at the things that we're building and the things that we're doing and the number of costumes and extras and all that ... I knew it was bigger than season 2, but I don't think I realized quite how much." Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. The new episodes boasting a grander scale shouldn't come as a surprise to "House of the Dragon" fans, what with the impending succession war between Targaryen heirs Aegon and Rhaenyra all but guaranteeing plenty of big battle scenes and expensive CGI dragons. Condal also recently revealed to Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused podcast that the third season will see an experimental episode that will be more "conceptual" and "character-driven" installment than "HOTD" fans have seen from the HBO fantasy series so far. 'We got to have a little fun this season, and there's a conceptual episode that I'm really excited about that [Sara Hess] wrote, and that's all I'm gonna say about it," Condal revealed. "It isn't in the traditional vernacular of what we have laid out. It's very character-driven, I think it's really great and I'm really excited to see it rendered.' Ditto! I'm a Huge Grey's Anatomy Fan Who Finally Started The Pitt, And There's A Few Reasons The HBO Max Show Feels Like Classic Grey's
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Medical dramas as a tried and true TV genre, and there are a number of them currently on TV. I'm a hardcore Grey's Anatomy fan, who had continued to watch new seasons on ABC and streaming with a Hulu subscription. I've finally begun watching The Pitt on HBO Max, and there are a few reasons why that new drama feels like classic Grey's. Let's break it down. The Pitt Season 1 is available now for those with a HBO Max subscription, and I've spent the last few days binge watching it. While it's thrilling to see Noah Wyle return to the genre, I'm really feeling the same vibes of early Grey's Anatomy. Namely because there is such a huge focus on the medicine of the Emergency Room. HBO Max: Plans start from $9.99 a monthThe Pitt is available exclusively on HBO Max. Pay $9.99 a month for its With Ads plan, with three tiers available for an HBO Max subscription. You can also prepay for a year and save up to 20%.View Deal The Pitt Is All About The Medicine Because early years of Grey's Anatomy were focused on surgical interns and their education, the medicine was key. Meredith, Cristina, Alex and the rest competed for surgeries, and to show their breadth of knowledge. And along the way their cases would reflect back their own personal lives and move a larger story forward. While The Pitt does have compelling lead characters, the medicine and work of the hospital is more of a focus than their personal lives. This is something I've felt was missing for some time on Grey's. While there's always new patients, they're rarely featured multi-episode arcs the way the show did in its early seasons. Since The Pitt isn't on network TV, it's also to shore more horrifying gore and graphic surgery footage than Grey's. That, as well as its format that's like a medical version of 24, and The Pitt is thoroughly bingeable. Plus, Perfect Penny is in the cast. Aside from their obvious, similarities The Pitt also harkens back to classic Grey's Anatomy with its casting. Namely Samantha Sloyan, who played Dr. Penny Blake throughout Seasons 11 and 12. This time she's on the other side of things, as the mother of a patient who goes brain dead during Episode 2. Her grieving process is a recurring plot line throughout Season 1, and I loved seeing the connective tissue with Grey's. Nowadays Sloyan is best known for her work on Mike Flanagan projects like Midnight Mass and Fall of the House of Usher (both of which are streaming with a Netflix subscription). But she'll always be Perfect Penny to me, Callie's girlfriend and one of the doctors responsible for McDreamy's death. So seeing her back in a medical drama was an unexpected delight in catching up on The Pitt. The Pitt was already renewed for Season 2, and the first is streaming in its entirety on Max as part of the 2025 TV schedule. Hopefully we get even more Grey's Anatomy connections in the next batch of episodes.
