Jessie J shares health update with a blood warning after breast cancer operation

Metro23-06-2025
Jessie J has shared a health update with fans as she reveals breast cancer surgery.
The 37-year-old singer – real name Jessica Ellen Cornish – has given an update after revealing her cancer diagnosis at the start of June.
Sharing snaps of herself in a hospital bed, she revealed that she had undergone surgery, and shared raw footage of herself with her son and basketball player partner, Chanan Colman.
Adding a warning to fans about the content in the post, the caption read: '‼️Blood warning‼️This post is some of the honest lows and highs of the last 48 hours.
'I will always show the good and hard bits of any journey I go through. Grateful to my doctor / surgeon and all the nurses who cared for me, and all my family / friends who came to visit.
She added that she was back at home now, and seemed positive as she cracked a joke: 'I am home now, to rest and wait for my results 🤞🏻 Chanan is in a nurse outfit. No no, he isn't, but funny to imagine.
'Still hugging everyone going through something tough right now. We all got this!'
In the post, she included multiple videos, one revealing that she was at the hospital for six and a half hours before heading into theatre.
Another tender video showed her partner kissing her head and holding her hand while she lay in a hospital bed. The next video showed her crying and complaining about being sore while she told her partner that she loved him, seemingly post-surgery.
An emotional video showed her joking about the blood draining out of her breasts being a 'goji berry smoothie'. This was followed by another video as she gently tried to explain to her son what the drain was and how it helped her.
One video showed Jessie watching back her latest performance at the Capital Summertime Ball, as she lay in a hospital bed recovering.
She could be heard on the TV screen on stage telling fans on June 15: 'Today, this show is my last show before I go and beat breast cancer.' https://www.instagram.com/p/DLQc1Q9MAEF/?img_index=1

The star announced the news of her cancer diagnosis in June, after learning about her cancer just before the release of her song No Secrets in April.
'Before No Secrets came out, I was diagnosed with early breast cancer,' she explained. More Trending
'I'm highlighting the word early. Cancer sucks in any form but I'm holding on to the word early.'
She added that she wanted to share her experience to help others: 'I'm not processing it because I'm working so hard. I also know how much sharing in the past has helped me with other people giving me their love and support, and also their own stories.
'I'm an open book. It breaks my heart that so many people are going through so much. Similar and worse.'
She also joked at the time: 'I'm getting to keep my nipples … that's good. It's a very dramatic way to get a boob job!'

One Direction star returns to stage 10 months after bandmate Liam Payne's death

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Niall Horan made a triumphant return to the stage this weekend, much to the surprise of fans—especially since it wasn't even his gig. The Irish pop star and boyband heartthrob hasn't performed live in 10 months, having wrapped up his The Show world tour in Bogota, Colombia, last autumn before embarking on a hiatus. That same month, Niall and his One Direction bandmates – Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik – were left heartbroken when Liam Payne died at the tender age of 31. Niall had spent time with Payne just weeks earlier when the Strip That Down hitmaker attended his concert in Argentina, not long before his fatal fall from a hotel balcony on October 16. Having taken some time away from the music scene following his late friend's funeral, Niall, 31, came back with a bang last night, stepping out onto a stage he's performed countless times: London's O2 Arena. He was a special guest for long-time friend and fellow music superstar Shawn Mendes, 27, who brought his On The Road Again tour to the capital. Celebrating hits from his decade in the industry, the Grammy-nominated Canadian songwriter was met with deafening screams upon introducing Niall to the crowd. Teasing Niall's arrival, Shawn began on the mic: 'I met this fella years and years ago; I was probably 16 or 17. 'I came into this industry, and I was terrified of everything and everyone. We talk a lot of s**t, but this man has been an older brother to me.' He declared sweetly: 'I love him with all my heart. Please welcome Niall Horan.' Naturally, the packed venue went wild, as footage later shared to Shawn's Instagram captured. Fans immediately burst into tears, jumped up and down, and shook their heads in disbelief as the Slow Hands vocalist made his way out, guitar in hand, of course. 'I'll remember this for a long time ❤️ Thank you so much London x', Shawn's caption read, with Niall commenting a red heart also. Together, they performed Niall's debut solo single, This Town, which was released after 1D's sabbatical began in 2016. Thanking the crowd before leaving the stage, Niall professed his love for Shawn and said: 'Take care, everyone.' As the video of the wholesome moment began doing the rounds online, fans were quick to express their excitement and plead with the celebrity pals for a proper collaboration. 'Best duo ever 🤍. We need a collab please? ❤️🙏', @niallxupdates_ commented on Instagram. 'OMG! Niall and Shawn together 😍🔥 So beautiful!', wrote @rashelhemmings. 'I didn't even realize how much I missed his voice. 💖', added Niall fan @_fatbirdsinging. @xoanyushka joked: 'i had the most normal reaction to this (i screamed)'. This is not the first time Niall and Shawn have duetted as, during Niall's lat tour, Shawn made a surprise appearance for a joint rendition of his hit Treat You Better. Meanwhile, today, Niall supporters further shared their pride at seeing him back where he belongs following his loss. Following Payne's shocking death, his bandmates all released devastating statements in tribute, with Niall taking to social media to say what had happened didn't 'feel real'. 'Liam had an energy for life and a passion for work that was infectious,' he wrote. 'He was the brightest in every room and always made everyone feel happy and secure. 'All the laughs we had over the years, sometimes about the simplest of things, keep coming to mind through the sadness. We got to live out our wildest dreams together and I will cherish every moment we had forever. 'The bond and friendship we had doesn't happen often in a lifetime.' Niall went on to send his condolences to Payne's young son, Bear, whom he shared with pop star Cheryl, and the star's family. 'I feel so fortunate that I got to see him recently,' he concluded. 'I sadly didn't know that after saying goodbye and hugging him that evening, I would be saying goodbye forever. It's heartbreaking.' More Trending Niall sweetly signed off: 'Thank you for everything, Payno.' As well as his parents and two sisters, Payne is survived by his girlfriend, Kate Cassidy. The circumstances surrounding his death have been investigated intently by police in recent months, resulting in five individuals being arrested in connection, among whom were a friend of Payne, the hotel manager, two employees, and a waiter. After months of proceedings, the latest is that three have been acquitted and two remain under suspicion. Got a story? Bimini Bon-Boulash signed up to 'hardest show on TV' without seeing an episode

Bimini Bon-Boulash had never seen SAS: Who Dares Wins before signing up. They just knew it was dubbed 'the hardest show on television' — and that alone was enough to lure them in. Despite the show's infamous reputation, Bimini is impressively unfazed when shot at, punched in the face, or dropped from a great height into ice-cold waters. The drag artist — real name Tommy Hibbits — admited to Metro that even they've asked themselves while watching it back: 'Am I okay? Nothing seems to be bothering me that much, as if I need the extremities to focus and be calm.' However underneath the undaunted surface the star admits they approached the process with caution. Not because of the endurance it demanded, but because they were being thrown into an intense environment with hyper-masculine straight men like former Premier League footballer Troy Deeney, professional boxer Conor Benn, and Love Island heartbreaker Adam Collard. 'I knew people weren't gonna be homophobic, but I thought, 'Is it gonna be like high school again — hanging around with the straight lads, and everyone just taking the p**s out of each other all the time?'' To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video But quickly, that didn't matter. They had to come together as a team, become friends — they were all each other had. Still, Bimini is clearly disappointed that there's a lot we don't see on-screen — presumably because Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins prefers to show its stars at their lowest. 'I had a conversation with Conor, Adam, Troy, myself and Lucy [Spraggan], and the men said they don't know how to express emotion without anger. They realised it's actually sadness — but they don't know how to be sad without being angry. That's all they've ever been taught: to 'man up.' We deconstructed it in a progressive way that would be really beautiful to see.' Instead, those moments of vulnerability are cut in favour of pure misery. In a recent episode, Bimini was gloved up and put in the ring with Traitors winner Harry Clarke — instructed to pull no punches. 'That was so out of my comfort zone,' they say. 'I don't like physical violence. I don't like the idea of war. So that challenge was what I was most worried about — which is interesting, because that was the one a lot of the other guys were most excited about.' But that wasn't even Bimini's lowest point. While they can't say too much before the episode airs, they warn: 'There's a moment coming soon where it definitely started to get to me.' While many stars who boldly sign up for this relentless mental and physical battering either drop out or get thrown out by furious DS leaders Mark 'Billy' Billingham, Jason Fox, Rudy Reyes, and Chris Oliver, Bimini proves that the LGBTQ+ community possesses a unique strength and determination that refuses to be broken. 'A lot of people are coming up to me and saying, 'You've been doing it with such poise,' they said. 'I guess it goes back to the resilience of being queer.' 'If you can accept yourself in a world that doesn't accept you, then you can jump off a cliff, you know? I just never had a voice in my head telling me I was going to give up.' Regardless of how often the LGBTQ+ community's grit is tested, it remains constantly underestimated — especially when it comes to physical strength. Bimini's been dancing their whole life, performing cartwheels down the aisles of Tesco, totally unapologetic even when bullied at school. 'I was told I didn't have the genitals I have because I can do the splits,' they tell me, with an eye roll. But anyone who's been to a Bimini show can attest to their athleticism, gasping as they backflip in 10-inch heels and bend their legs behind their head without barely breaking a sweat. One DS even told them they were 'wasted in drag,' as though they don't already channel the full force of their body on stage. 'I don't know why drag queens are underestimated, considering what we put our bodies through. I told one of the DS staff to wear a pair of 10-inch Pleasers for 12 and a half hours and then see who thinks they're hard. 'We take to anything like a duck to water. We throw ourselves into it. So I really enjoyed the fact there were so many physical tests — this was once-in-a-lifetime stuff.' The physical challenges were a breeze. The real challenge was the constant anticipation of being shouted at or summoned by the DS. 'I only had two showers,' they say, mortified. 'It was gross. But you're on edge the whole time — you don't know if they're going to shout at you, so no one dared take a shower.' Thankfully, they emerged from the process unscathed — unlike some of their co-stars. X Factor star Lucy Spraggan tore her vulva so badly she required reconstructive surgery after filming. More Trending 'That was crazy — she's got a designer vagina now,' they tease. Instead, Bimini left with a deeper sense of self and more conviction in the strengths they always knew were there. 'It cemented me to my core,' they say. 'I'm Lara Croft, and no one is going to tell me otherwise.' Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins airs Sundays and Mondays at 9 p.m. on Channel 4 and is available to stream on All 4. Got a story? Panic as beloved Coronation Street resident is found collapsed in new video

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video There's panic for Coronation Street favourite Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) when she collapses at number 13 and requires urgent medical attention. When she began to suffer symptoms she originally attributed to the menopause, Debbie sought medical advice. After the doctor learned that Debbie had been suffering blackouts, chronic mood swings and increasing levels of forgetfulness, he diagnosed her with young-onset dementia and told her that the blackouts were probably due TIA's (mini strokes) and warned that they were likely to continue. Debbie, utterly rocked, resolved to keep her diagnosis secret, particularly from brother Kevin (Michael Le Vell) who was battling testicular cancer and long-term partner Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan), who she broke up with, determined not to become a burden. Following further incidents, including passing out in front of her family, Debbie finally revealed the truth about her condition. As more and more people learned of her dementia, including Ronnie, he set out to reunite with his ex. Debbie put up a fight, but ultimately accepted that Ronnie wanted to support her, and the two reunited. They further solidified their love when Debbie proposed at the wedding of Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) and Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove). Upcoming episodes will see Debbie decide to let herself into Kevin's house to do a touch of cleaning while he and his family are away on holiday. Debbie is, however, unaware that Abi (Sally Carman-Duttine) has faked the loss of her passport in order to stay at home and continue her clandestine affair with her husbands brother, Carl (Jonathan Howard). More Trending In fact, when Debbie enters number 9, Carl is upstairs while Abi is at the shop, fetching drinks. Debbie begins to falter, speaking incoherently and eventually collapsing, Carl comes down to investigate, finding his sister in a bad way. As Abi returns home, she's relieved that Debbie didn't see him before her incident and shoos him away before calling an ambulance.
