Nebraska basketball freshman scores 20 to lead Iceland to win over Slovenia
Curtis eclipsed his previous best game by three points and two rebounds. He shot 6-of-11 from the floor and 8-of-10 from the free throw line in the win. He also commanded the boards, securing a game-high 11 rebounds to earn his first double-double of the tournament.
Curtis scored 15 points in the first half, helping Iceland control the game over Slovenia early. Though Slovenia clawed its way back in the fourth, erasing a 14-point deficit, Iceland held off the comeback to earn the win.
Curtis also scored 11 points in the team's loss to France on Sunday and hauled in eight rebounds. He finishes the Group D series with 48 points and 28 rebounds across the three games; both lead the team. Curtis also leads the team in steals (4) and blocks (8).
Iceland finishes third in the Group D standings and await their seeding in the Round of 16. The playoffs are set for Wednesday on the FIBA YouTube channel.

Indiana Fever forward poised to re-sign after seven-day contract ends
With the conclusion of her seven-day injury hardship waiver with the Indiana Fever occurring on August 1, forward Chloe Bibby appears poised to re-sign with the team for the remainder of the 2025 WNBA season as a scoring depth option. Bibby started the season on the Golden State Valkyries, averaging 6.4 points on 40.7% shooting from the field, 42.1% from 3-point territory, and 100% from the free-throw line through five games played for the newest WNBA expansion franchise. After being waived (a second time) by the Valkyries on June 30, with the team hampered with injuries at the time, the former Maryland Terrapin signed a seven-day contract with Indiana as a scoring depth option to make up for the lost offensive potential of injured guard Caitlin Clark. With Bibby traveling alongside the team to Dallas, Texas, for their August 1 meeting with the Dallas Wings at the American Airlines Center, the likelihood that she will be staying with Indiana for the remainder of the 2025 season seems all but certain. In her two games played with the fever, Bibby is averaging 9.0 points on 44.4% from the field, 50.0% from beyond the arc, and 85.7% from the charity stripe through 12 minutes of action across both games. With the sudden offensive emergence of guard Aari McDonald, Indiana hopes that Bibby can offer a similar impact off the bench as the Fever continue their second-half playoff push while Clark continues to rehab her injured right groin. The Fever and Wings will clash Friday, August 1, at American Airlines Center at 7:30 p.m. CT, with the game being broadcast on ION. Latest Madden ratings prove Iowa football is TEU
.@gkittle46 is just on a different Top 10 Tight Ends list!#Madden26Ratings It's long been debated which college football school is tight end U. Schools like Miami, Notre Dame, and even Nebraska have tried to lay claim to that prestigious title. But for anyone who follows the game of college football and the NFL, there's only one real answer to who is TEU: the Iowa Hawkeyes. And they just got some extra proof from an unlikely source. Madden released their top ten ratings for every single position in Madden 26 on Thursday. And Hawkeye fans will have a blast looking at the tight end ratings, which bode very well for Iowa's stake to the TEU moniker. To no one's surprise, former Hawkeye and current San Francisco 49er George Kittle is the highest-rated tight end in the game this year, at an astounding 98 overall. He's five overalls higher than the second-highest rated tight end, Travis Kelce, who's a 93 overall. Kittle has had an incredible career since being drafted in the fifth round in 2017 and is very deserving of being the highest-rated tight end in the game. Two more former Hawkeyes join Kittle on Madden's top ten tight ends in the game list. T.J. Hockenson of the Minnesota Vikings is seventh at an 88 overall, and Sam LaPorta of the Detroit Lions is ninth at an 86 overall. Both of those young NFC North tight ends have had great NFL careers already and should continue to get better as their careers progress. Iowa is the only school to have more than one tight end on this list, which is a great feat for the Hawkeyes and a further reason why Iowa is TEU. They put great tight ends into the NFL yearly and have a great pipeline going all the way back to Dallas Clark. And the Madden ratings only further prove the fact that all Hawkeye fans already know: Iowa is the one and only TEU.
