Love Island fans speculate Harry's 'game plan' after savage recoupling decision
Love Island viewers were quick to highlight the "game plan" of Harry Cooksley following yet more drama involving the 30-year-old Islander. Despite being coupled up with Helena, Harry has repeatedly engaged in cheeky and flirtatious banter with other girls in the villa.
His ways have caused his former partner Shakira's attention to wander to him, despite being in a pair with Conor. After Friday night's dramatic events, fans are convinced they've figured out Harry's game as a shocking recoupling unfolded on last night's episode.
Harry was left in tears after a tense conversation with Helena, who told him she couldn't remain friends with him - either in the villa or on the outside. While the boys showed their support as he sulked, the recoupling had fans all thinking the same thing. With only Helena and Shakira left waiting to be picked, Harry admitted: 'I've disappointed myself,' as he acknowledged that he knows he's not "perfect".
He revealed he had "chosen to ignore" the emotions he felt for Shakira as he revealed whether he was leaving the villa solo, or heading back alongside her. He made his choice, with Shakira hugging him and leaving Helena standing in front of the fire pit alone - leaving the rest of the Islanders shocked with his speech, the Mirror reports.
After Blu chose Helena, she listened to what he had to say but quickly got up and walked away from the fire pit. Meanwhile, fans took to social media to share their reactions.
One user on X, formally known as Twitter, stated: "Harry knows Shakira is most popular with the public, his game plan working to a tee."
While other viewers made their feelings crystal clear, as one user admitted: "If there's a vote I'm voting Harry and Shakira with no shame." A second added: "Just watch! People will vote for Harry and Shakira," while a third penned: "Yes Harry, beautiful speech, you're back in the game. Team Harry and Shakira"
On Friday's episode, Harry was exposed to the villa for his actions that had caused a divide between the girls for weeks. He had played Shakira and Helena against each other several different times, sitting back whilst Helena and Shakira turned their triangle tensions on each other.
Harry and Helena had become exclusive, leaving Shakira feeling devastated and completely heartbroken in recent weeks.
Yet just one day after progressing their romance, Harry was dropping hints to Dejon about still fancying Shakira. He also hitted he wasn't particularly keen on Helena, before seemingly attempting to provoke an argument with her during the Grafties.
The cringeworthy moments unfolding on screen saw Helena call time on their relationship permanently. His remarks about "loving" his former girlfriend Emma and his flirtations with others, plus his conversations with Shakira, all came to light during the villa's awards ceremony.
The footballer also made a dig about having a better experience with Shakira compared to Helena.
Helena eventually branded Harry "a f*****g joke". She then declared: "Shakira doesn't want you, I don't want you." The other Islanders couldn't help but smirk as Helena appeared to finish things once and for all.
