Under HM the King's Leadership, Morocco Stands out as Emerging Power in Africa
In a statement to MAP, Adesina emphasized that Morocco, which is undergoing a strong transformative momentum as highlighted in the speech delivered by His Majesty the King on the occasion of the Throne Day, stands out for the consistency and coherence of its economic and social progress.
Morocco's strategic positioning, he said, is rooted in a clear and ambitious vision supported by an integrated development strategy, economic, social, and environmental, grounded in stable governance and carefully considered policy choices.
This methodical and determined approach, he added, has enabled the Kingdom to emerge as one of the most advanced nations on the African continent.
'As part of its New Development Model, the Kingdom has strengthened its economic fundamentals,' Adesina said, pointing to genuine sectoral diversification, a well-managed openness to global markets, and firm integration into regional and global value chains as signs of Morocco's economic emergence.
The country's industrial revival, particularly in the automotive, aerospace, and renewable energy sectors, reflects this upward trajectory, bolstered by an ambitious infrastructure policy and solid macroeconomic environment, which enhance Morocco's appeal to international investors, he noted.
'Driven by the major development projects launched by His Majesty the King, our relations with the Kingdom continue to grow stronger, in order to support and accompany these multi-faceted advances for the benefit of the country and the Moroccan people,' Adesina concluded.

Algerian Regime's Online Trolls Caught Faking US Statement to Undermine Morocco-US Ties
Rabat – Algerian regime mouthpieces are again resorting to social media to fuel their Morocco-bashing campaigns. Unsurprisingly, this time Algeria's regime online trolls revived their fraud and disinformation machine, especially after US President Donald Trump's recent strong-worded statement reaffirming support for Morocco's territorial integrity and sovereignty over its southern provinces in Western Sahara. The Algerian regime's fraud machine went so far as to fabricate official statements from the US State Department and the White House. In the past few days, Algeria's regime mouthpieces on social media fabricated a statement from the US State Department, inventing a fake name to claim that the message received by King Mohammed VI from Trump was allegedly false. Algeria's online trolls, however, failed to forge the document, leaving behind glaring typos and inconsistencies that no State Department release would contain. Looking closer at the forged document, the fake release reveals serious errors, with a forged signature as well as blatant linguistic errors like 'Amrica' instead of America.' The errors took minimal fact-checking, which was swiftly carried out by Moroccan social media, which caught Algeria's mouthpieces red-handed. The recent situation marks a pattern of disinformation tactics that the Algerian regime uses in an attempt to undermine Morocco's interests, especially as Rabat continues to gain momentum in the Sahara dossier. Over 115 countries are on a growing list that explicitly support Morocco's Autonomy Plan as a serious and credible political solution, or the only or most political framework able to end the dispute over Western Sahara. This momentum leaves Algeria's regime lobbying attempts and advocacy for separatism and Polisario's 'self-determination' narrative isolated within the international community. This is not the first time that Algeria's regime fabricated a release from the US State Department. In July, the Algerian presidency, Algeria's regime mouthpiece press, as well as the state media, fabricated a letter from Trump. Algeria's affiliated media claimed the US president had praised a 'lasting' partnership and expressed hope for flourishing ties between the two countries. However, some critics exposed the regime's attempt, noting that Trump has indeed sent a letter to Tebboune. Unlike the claims reported by Algeria's regime, the letter sought to inform Tebboune about the 30% tariffs on Algeria. The Algerian latest disinformation attempts come as the regime continues to turn a deaf ear to a direct opportunity to end tensions with Morocco. In his speech on Throne Day on Tuesday, King Mohammed VI reiterated Rabat's readiness to open a bridge of dialogue and discussion, stressing the importance of good neighborly relations to address regional challenges. Yet, as on many occasions, Algeria's regime responded with silence. However, many regional and international officials emphasized the significance of the King's appeal. Morocco, Korea Celebrate Strong Bilateral Relations on Throne Day Celebration
Rabat — Moroccan and Korean delegations have emphasized the importance of Morocco-Korea bilateral ties during the celebration of the Throne Day. During the ceremony, the two countries reflected on decades of partnership rooted in shared sacrifice and mutual support. Speaking at a commemorative event marking the 26th anniversary of King Mohammed VI's ascension to the throne, Moroccan Ambassador to Korea Chafik Rachadi pointed out the strategic momentum building between the two countries. The celebration served as a platform to display not only Morocco's economic achievements but also the deepening ties with Korea. The relationship between Morocco and Korea traces back to the Korean War, when Moroccan soldiers fought alongside UN forces to defend Korea. Two of those soldiers — Mohamed El Asry and Julien Djian — made the ultimate sacrifice, dying in 1951 and 1953, respectively. 'Two of those heroes are now peacefully resting in the UN Memorial Cemetery in Busan, a dignified reminder of the human connections,' Rachadi said during the ceremony. Korea's Ambassador Chung Keeyong, who was recently honored by the King of Morocco with the Order of Wissam Alaouite, has been instrumental in preserving this historical bond. Keeyong's efforts led to the identification of 16 additional Moroccan veterans, bringing the total known participants to 24, and resulted in the publication of 'Morocco-Korea: Blood Brothers.' The wartime connection established a foundation that formal diplomatic relations, established in July 1962, would build upon. Significantly, Korea established its first African embassy in Morocco, reflecting the early importance both nations placed on their relationship. Recent developments demonstrate how this historical partnership has evolved into contemporary strategic cooperation. In April 2025, the two countries launched negotiations for the Morocco-Korea Economic Partnership Agreement and are also collaborating on preparations for the 2030 FIFA World Cup. Economic partnerships have flourished, with Korea providing $100 million in development aid and securing a substantial $1.5 billion electric train deal with Morocco. Environmental cooperation has also emerged as a key area, with joint initiatives including a reforestation project in Ouarzazate and green hydrogen programs aligning with Morocco's ambitious renewable energy goals. Speaking during the celebration, the Moroccan ambassador pointed to Morocco's economic transformation, noting that over 40 percent of the country's electricity now comes from renewables, with plans to reach 52 percent renewable capacity by 2030. Morocco has also emerged as Africa's largest car producer and has seen a 55 percent rise in foreign direct investment in 2024. The relationship has been characterized by mutual support during pivotal moments. Korea showed solidarity during Morocco's 1975 Green March, a demonstration that helped secure the country's territorial integrity and led to the Madrid Accords ending Spanish control over the region. Keeyong reflected on this reciprocal support, describing how archival research uncovered Korea's backing during the Green March. 'From the trenches of the Korean War to the sands of the Green March… Morocco and Korea have always shown up for each other,' he concluded. As Morocco has strengthened its position as a bridge between Africa, Europe, and the Arab world — cemented by its 2017 return to the African Union and 2022 ratification of the African Continental Free Trade Area — its partnership with Korea continues to evolve, built on a foundation of shared sacrifice and sustained by mutual commitment to growth and cooperation.
