WITH the cost-of-living crisis skyrocketing, affording the finer things in life is becoming challenging for many cash-strapped beauty buffs.

However, thrifty shoppers have discovered a brand new dupe on the high street - and it's almost 100x cheaper than the real version.
So if you're looking to smell fabulous this season without emptying your bank account, you may wish to keep reading.
One bargain-mad person, a member of the popular Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group, revealed that Poundland has now added a £1 scent they reckon is an alternative to the posh YSL Black Opium.
The aroma - Dark Aura - will set you back just a quid, while the designer version for a similar amount retails for more than an eye-watering £97.
While the two bottles look nothing alike, thrifty beauty lovers have noted the perfume ''smells really nice''.
Those who have already tried the scent for themselves, said it was ''lovely'' - however, many did warn you might need to top it up every now and then.
Despite this, it still works out cheaper to go through a full bottle of the cut-price version compared to forking out the astronomical sum for the designer bottle.
Since being posted on the popular page, the post has racked up over 20 likes and close to a dozen comments.
Many social media users flocked to share their thoughts - as well as their top picks for smelling fabulous on a budget.
One said: ''These are lovely smells, home bargains do some good dupes and savers do.''
Primark releases £2 minis of its cult Sol de Janeiro perfume dupes - there's four scents to nab… and one of them is brand new
A second was raving over the purse-friendly scents, writing: ''Handy for your hand bag and if you don't want to use expensive stuff.
''I've had a few different bottles from Poundland, lovely scents.''
''I love their fragrances,'' someone else praised the discount retailer.

Poundland closures
This comes just days after Poundland announced the exact date of another high street store closure as it begins shuttering sites.
The budget chain is set to close four stores in May as its owner, Polish retailer Pepco Group, looks to offload the business.
The latest store to confirm a closure date is in Gravesend's St George's Centre.
The site will be shuttered for good on Thursday May 8.
The closure of Poundland's Gravesend site will come less than a week after it pulls down the shutters on sites in London's Clapham Junction railway station and a the Belle Valle shopping centre in Liverpool.
The Clapham Junction site will close on Friday May 2, while the Liverpool branch will be shut from Tuesday May 6.
Poundland is also preparing to close its store in Brackla, Wales, which is going to cease trading on May 24.
Just last month, Poundland was forced to shut its Belfast branch after the Connswater Shopping Centre was placed into receivership.

Unassuming corner shop was seen by millions on classic 70s sitcom – but would you recognise it?

It was earmarked for demolition before campaigners saved it in 2008 HOUSE ABOUT THAT Unassuming corner shop was seen by millions on classic 70s sitcom – but would you recognise it? A CORNER shop from a classic 70s sitcom went under the hammer last year and is now an unassuming home. The building quietly sits in the Balby suburb of Doncaster in South Yorkshire. It's likely that those living next-door have no idea that the building was once on one of Britain's most iconic TV shows. Open All Hours, which aired in 1976, ran for four seasons. It was rated the eighth best sitcom in the country in 2004. Advertisement The show ran from 1976 to 1985 and had 17 million viewers a week at its peak. Created by Roy Clarke, the plot followed Albert Arkwright, who runs a grocery shop in Doncaster's Balby and is in love with Nurse Gladys, who lives opposite his shop. But Gladys rejects his proposals as she has to look after her ill mother. The fictional shop owned by Arkwright - played by Ronnie Barker - used a residential property for exterior shots. Advertisement After the show ended, the building went up for auction but failed to sell. It was earmarked for demolition before campaigners saved it in 2008. The property was then concerned into a unisex hairdressers, called the Beautique hair salon. Auctioneers hoped that the property's TV history would attract plenty of bidders when it went to auction on October 16 with a guide price of £150,000. Advertisement The building came with two self-contained flats on the upper floor and boasts an annual rent of £16,440 when fully let. Film crews moved in for weeks at a time for each series of Open All Hours. The end-terrace on Lister Avenue in Balby, less than a mile from Doncaster city centre, became a tourist attraction over the years. But now, those passing by would never guess at the house's history and fame. There have also been lots of British holidaymakers there like Kerry Katona, James Blunt, and Peter Andre - who has a strong connection to Cyprus that 20 years ago, he decided to build his own holiday home there. In the city of Larnaca on the southeast coast of Cyprus, Peter has a villa with five bedrooms, a swimming pool and tennis court. Talking to Sun Travel about his holiday home in Larnaca, Peter said: "The house is so beautiful and private. Obviously the smells, the foods, it reminds me of my childhood and my parents. "It's very sentimental to us and the other thing is there are some amazing beaches with bright white sand." As for where to go, Peter added: "I like to go to quiet places. I don't really like to go where it's crazily busy. "The food there is amazing and we love the restaurants. For anyone going to Larnaca, I have three recommendations. One is a new restaurants called Theta in Perivolia which is very near the airport. It does Mediterranean food, but done in the style of a Dubai 5-star restaurant. "We go there and we're like 'why doesn't anyone know about this place?'" Peter also loves to go to a Japanese restaurant called Nippon. But some of the most popular across the island according to Tripadvisor are Nissi Beach, Fig Tree Bay Beach, Coral Bay and Makronissos Beach. For anyone who fancies a trip over to Cyprus, you can even book a stay in Peter's Villa Amelia which is a short drive from Larnaca Airport. Inside is five bedrooms, each one sleeping two people. The rooms have queen beds or single beds, and their own en suites. The shared spaces include huge living area with two sets of sofas, as well as a separate dining and kitchen area. Outside, there's lots of places to relax by the pool or battle it out in a game of tennis. 6 The price of a holiday in Larnaca has dropped compared to last year Credit: Alamy It's a great time to go to Larnaca too as TravelSupermarket revealed earlier this year that the city is cheaper this year compared to 2024. Larnaca, a city on the southeast coast of Cyprus, has emerged as the holiday destination with the biggest price drop. According to TravelSupermarket, the holiday comparison website, prices of a holiday to Larnaca have fallen by £495 per person. The average price in 2024 was £1,292.04 and in 2025 is £797.97 - a 38 per cent decrease. Flights from the UK take just over four hours and you can book flights with Ryanair from £34.99. There's another place a little further afield that Peter described as 'a kids' paradise' - as he discovers the world's most child-friendly holiday destination. And here's the Dubai-like spa hotel in the UK where Peter Andre and wife Emily go on child-free weekends.
