I've watched every episode of Netflix's ‘Trainwreck' series — here's the 3 you need to stream first
Netflix's "Trainwreck" documentary series has been dropping new episodes weekly for the last two months, and it's rapidly become one of my favorite shows on the popular streaming service. The series explores 'major public disasters and cultural breakdowns,' looking at everything from the tragedy of 2021's Astroworld Festival crowd crush to an out-of-control party that was dubbed 'Project X' in real life.' Each documentary explores its subject matter with slick presentation, and (for the most part) an attention to detail that really draws you in. There have been nine installments of 'Trainwreck' released on Netflix to date, including the three-parter covering Woodstock '99 released in 2022, and after watching them all, I've picked out the three you need to watch. Let's begin with the 'Trainwreck' that started it all, Woodstock '99. This three-episode mini-series chronicles the disastrous late '90s festival that descended into sheer anarchy. While the original Woodstock in 1969 was all about 'peace, love and flower power,' the revival three decades later was meaner and represented the dramatic shift in culture at the time. Things started off well with the festival gates opening as planned, but high temperatures scorched the attendees, artists like Limp Bizkit riled up the crowd already on the edge of rioting, water supplies dwindled, and by the third day, many of the attendees had gone completely feral. Because 'Trainwreck: Woodstock '99' has three episodes to tell its story, instead of the hour-long format that is standard for most of the series, it's able to slowly build the narrative. Each episode covers a day of the festival, which allows the drama to unfold at a great pace and keep you hooked. Watch "Trainwreck: Woodstock '99" on Netflix now Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. 'Trainwreck: The Astroworld Tragedy' was the first chapter of the series' return this year, and while it debuted on Netflix two months ago, it's still a documentary that I think about regularly. I go to a lot of concerts each year, so the events of the Astroworld Festival in 2021 really impacted me at the time, and this 80-minute feature offers a deeper insight into an avoidable tragedy. For those out of the loop, the festival, curated and headlined by rap artist Travis Scott, was the site of a horrific crowd crush that resulted in the deaths of 10 people. 'Trainwreck' explores how the crush started and what could have been done to prevent it. This documentary isn't exactly entertaining — it's a very somber watch — but it's morbidly fascinating and attempts to hold the people believed to be responsible for the tragedy to account. Watch "Trainwreck: The Astroworld Tragedy" on Netflix now I've never particularly seen the appeal of a cruise vacation. Being trapped on a boat with thousands of other people isn't my idea of a holiday. But if I had ever lingering curiosity to see what taking a cruise trip was like, 'Trainwreck: Poop Cruise' has well and truly stamped that out. This (more light-hearted) installment of 'Trainwreck' looks at a cruise voyage that proved to be a complete disaster for those onboard and quickly became a huge story for the watching world. In 2013, the Carnival Triumph ship left Mexico on its return to the U.S., when a fire in the engine room damaged the ship's propulsion. Not only that, but power and sanitation systems were also knocked out. This resulted in the ship being stranded, floating aimlessly in the ocean as passengers and crew endured food shortages, lack of basic amenities (like working air conditioning) and raw sewage flooding the entire ship. This 'Trainwreck' is pretty stomach-turning but also a little funny. Watch "Trainwreck: Poop Cruise" on Netflix now

Binged Wednesday Already? Here's When Part 2 Is Out (And What To Watch While You Wait)
Wednesday fans' patience was finally rewarded this week when, almost three years on since the first season began streaming, new episodes finally debuted on Netflix. Unfortunately, the wait isn't quite over, though. You see, as Netflix tends to do with its biggest releases, the second season of Wednesday was split into two, so while the first four are available to stream now, there's still a four-week wait until the second half of the series arrives on the platform. How you fill in that time is up to you, but we do have some suggestions for things to stream just for Wednesday devotees… What to stream on Netflix while you wait for the latest episodes of Wednesday season 2? Of course, Wednesday Addams has existed long before Tim Burton and Netflix put their unique spin on the character. While Jenna Ortega has become synonymous with the role since Wednesday's premiere in 2022, many would argue that the definitive version of the character was Christina Ricci's, in 1991's The Addams Family and the far superior, laugh-out-loud hilarious follow-up, 1993's Addams Family Values. As luck would have it, both of those films are currently streaming on Netflix, starring an incredible cast that includes Anjelica Huston, Christopher Lloyd, Carol Kane and Joan Cusack in the oh-so-meme-able role of Debbie Jellinsky. Meanwhile if you're looking for something creepy, kooky, mysterious, spooky and all-together-ooky, but still family friendly, the 2019 animated film The Addams Family is currently on Prime Video, as is its 2021 sequel. These animated movies feature Oscar Isaac and Charlize Theron as the voices of Gomez and Morticia Addams, while the family is completed by the likes of Chloe Grace Moretz, Finn Wolfhard, Nick Kroll, Bette Midler and, curiously, Snoop Dogg as Cousin Itt. Alternatively, if Wednesday has got you curious to dive into more of Tim Burton's catalogue, Beetlejuice and Corpse Bride are both streaming on Netflix, while the more recent sequel Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is on Now. Many of Tim Burton's other notable projects, including Edward Scissorhands, Alice In Wonderland and The Nightmare Before Christmas (which, notably, he produced but did not direct) are also on Disney+. When is the second half of Wednesday season 2 coming out? The final four episodes in the series will arrive on Netflix on Wednesday 3 September. Excitingly, one of these episodes will feature Lady Gaga's much-hyped cameo, with the Grammy winner having also apparently recorded a new song to coincide with her appearance. A third season of Wednesday is also confirmed to be in the works, with showrunner Alfred Gough teasing: 'Our goal for season three is the same as it is for every season: to make it the best season of Wednesday we possibly can. 'We want to continue digging deeper into our characters while expanding the world of Nevermore and Wednesday. We will be seeing more Addams Family members and learning more family secrets in season three!' It's not yet known when production on the third season will begin, though, or when we can expect to see it on Netflix. Every Manga Easter Egg We Saw in the ONE PIECE Season 2 Teaser Trailer
It's finally time to set sail once more, fellow Straw Hats! After years of waiting, Netflix has released the first trailer live-action One Piece season two––now revealed to be called One Piece: Into the Grand Line. And boy, there's a lot to unpack in this action-filled first look! Join us in the high seas as we delve into all of the Easter eggs and references from the One Piece anime and manga that we spotted in the action-packed trailer for One Piece season two, Into the Grand Line. All of the Anime and Manga Easter Eggs and References We Saw in the Season 2,Trailer Reverse Mountain & Laboon: Season 2's Trailer Begins and Ends with a Whale of a Manga Easter Egg The live-action One Piece season two, Into the Grand Line, trailer bookends with the ominous cries of the giant blue whale from the One Piece anime and manga, Laboon. First, in the opening shot of the live-action One Piece trailer, we see the Going Merry approaching Reverse Mountain, which is the entrance to the Grand Line. That Easter egg makes sense because One Piece season two is called Into the Grand Line, after all. Then, toward the end of the trailer, we get a thrilling shot where we see the Straw Hat crew descend the mountain… straight towards the open mouth of the colossal Laboon. In the One Piece manga, the Straw Hat Pirates are swallowed whole by the whale to begin their adventure on the Grand Line, but it will be interesting to see whether the live-action One Piece series will stay true to that plot point or find a more grounded option to adapt the arc. We're glad to see this whale of a reference to the One Piece manga in the season two trailer, one way or the other. Loguetown & Smoker: Live-Action Season 2 Teases More Time Spent in a Critical Manga Location The live-action One Piece season two trailer also shows us many shots from the Straw Hats' final stop in the East Blue before heading out for the Grand Line, Loguetown. This location is a pivotal one for Luffy and his crew's journey, as they encounter many important figures on their stop there. Most notably, the Straw Hats meet the Marine Captain Smoker. The end of live-action One Piece's first season teased this powerful Devil Fruit user. And Smoker makes his glorious duel-cigar-smoking debut in the One Piece: Into the Grand Line season two trailer, played by Callum Kerr. From the other shots we see in the One Piece trailer, it would appear that the crew will be spending a bit more time in Loguetown than they do in the manga, with several shots taking place at night, including one of Luffy looking up at the scaffold of Gol D. Roger's execution. This shot offers a deep-cut One Piece manga Easter egg embedded into the One Piece season two, Into the Grand Line, trailer because it reminds us of Loguetwon's nickname in the manga, the 'Town of Beginnings and Endings.' Loguetown is the place of Rogers birth and death, and we feel the show will meditate on this during the season. Whiskey Peak: This Season 2 Trailer Manga Easter Egg Hints at Some Drunken Delights Another gorgeous manga set piece we see showcased in this live-action One Piece season two trailer is the iconic Cactus Island, home to the town of Whiskey Peak. Without giving too much away for those who aren't familiar with the One Piece source material, Whiskey Peak is the Straw Hats' first official stop on the Grand Line, and it is a memorable one full of surprises, to say the least… It may or may not feature some drunken revelry. We'll see how far the Netflix live-action One Piece series takes this trailer reference. It is fun to see Whiskey Peak pop up in the One Piece season two trailer, though, and we're sure it will be chock-full of manga Easter eggs when it comes to life. Miss Wednesday Makes Her First Appearance One such Whiskey Peak surprise is Vivi, a.k.a. Miss Wednesday, who also makes her first appearance in the One Piece season two trailer. Played by Charithra Chandran, in the manga, the blue-haired Baroque Works agent clashes with Luffy and the crew during this early period on the Grand Line. However, there's more to this character than may initially appear, as she soon becomes an integral part of their story across the One Piece Alabasta saga. We feel excited to see a reference to Vivi/Miss Wednesday's One Piece manga journey in the Into the Grand Line trailer. Miss All Sunday First-Look Teases Interesting Change From the Manga Speaking of Baroque Works agents, the live-action One Piece season two trailer also offered fans their first look at another significant manga character debuting this season, Nico Robin, a.k.a. Miss All Sunday, played by Lera Abova. In a quick shot, we see a glimpse at the cowboy hat-clad baddie and her Devil Fruit powers as she bursts open a door with a storm of flower petals. This One Piece season two trailer Easter egg will interest fans, as it nods to Miss All Sunday's manga powers but changes their presentation from the manga. It'll be interesting to note whether this signifies an overall change to how Miss All Sunday's powers will be presented in the live-action series, or if this is merely a tease at what we can expect from her in the future. Little Garden, Giants, & Wax The final locations teased in this trailer were the exotic jungles of Little Garden, and their BIG surprises. In easily the standout moments of the trailer, we got our first look at one of the giants the crew will meet on Little Garden, Brogy, played by Brendan Murray. Sadly, no Dory in this trailer, but we do know he will be appearing this season as well, played by Werner Coetser. Likewise, while none of the Baroque Works agents the crew encounters on Little Garden appear in this live-action One Piece season two trailer, we do get a little reference to David Dastmalchian's Mr. 3. This can be seen in a quick shot of Sanji breaking into his hideout on the island, which you can see is made entirely of wax. 's Teaser Trailer Promises Manga Easter Eggs Galore in Live-Action Season 2 The live-action One Piece season two trailer is sure to reignite fans' excitement for the new season as it peppers in an incredible amount of manga Easter eggs and references for long-time fans. The trailer does an incredible job of showcasing the wide variety of extraordinary adventures awaiting the crew on the Grand Line. And that's not even including Chopper's portion of the season in Drum Island, which was notably absent from the trailer. Thankfully, One Piece fans can expect more exciting details and insights on season two (and three) as the show will officially return in 2026. Solve the daily Crossword
