Rhyl Journal5 hours ago
After 16 years, Oasis is finally back!
Noel and Liam Gallagher took to the stage at Cardiff's Principality Stadium on Friday (July 4) in what was their first gig together in 16 years.
The performance was the first show in their long-awaited reunion tour (Live '25) - which will also see them perform in locations including London, Manchester and Edinburgh.
The brothers, who had not performed together since their dramatic split in 2009, blasted through their setlist, kicking off with Hello, from their second album, (What's the Story) Morning Glory?
During the gig, Liam apologised to fans for how long it had taken for them to reunite.
He spoke to the audience several times throughout the set, but before Oasis played their final song of the night, fan-favourite Champagne Supernova, Liam said: 'Right you beautiful people, this is it.
'Nice one for putting up with us over the years, we know we've been difficult.
'Champagne Supernova, nice one.'

While the brothers shared no banter on stage throughout the gig, they very briefly high-fived and half-hugged each other's shoulders after their closing track.
Oasis was supported by fellow 90s group Cast and former Verve frontman Richard Ashcroft.

Liam Gallagher changed the lyrics to a huge Oasis song during their Cardiff show

Liam Gallagher changed the lyrics to a huge Oasis song during their Cardiff show It was the penultimate track on their 23-song set list in Cardiff Liam Gallagher of Oasis performs during the opening night of their Live 25' Tour at Principality Stadium (Image: Samir Hussein/WireImage ) Liam Gallagher changed the lyrics to an Oasis classic in Cardiff on Friday night as the band kicked off their long-awaited reunion tour at the Principality Stadium. One of the band's most famous songs, Wonderwall, was the penultimate track on their 23-song set list, performed as part of the encore. And as he belted out the immortal line: "There are many things that I would like to say to you", he added: "But I don't speak Welsh." The humorous ad-lib was just one of his interactions with the crowd on the evening which drew a smile. Earlier in the evening, in a nod to the huge prices fans had to fork out to be at the show, he'd asked the fans in the crowd: "You alright, you all having a good time? Was it worth the £40,000 you paid for the ticket?" During the final song of the evening, Champagne Supernova, Liam thanked Oasis fans for "putting up with them". He said: "Right then beautiful people this is it. Nice one for putting up with us over the years. "We are hard work, I get it. Champagne Supernova, nice one for coming out." Fans filtering out of the stadium last night gave glowing reviews to our reporters, describing it as "the best gig ever", "ten out of ten" and "worth every penny." Others described it as "absolutely amazing" and "an emotional, out of body experience". Critics also lauded the performance of the band, with five star reviews given across the board. Tickets for the Oasis reunion sold out across all venues due to huge demand when they went online earlier in the year. However, there are still several options available for fans trying to snag a last-minute spot. Limited last-minute tickets can be bought from the official Ticketmaster resale site, where fans who can no longer go sell their seats, although these tend to go into and out of stock quickly. Elsewhere, resale sites like Viagogo, Vivid Seats, StubHub and Twickets are selling tickets for various dates with prices from £121, although fans should always bear in mind that many official sites, such as Ticketmaster and Live Nation, discourage the purchase of resale tickets. Article continues below Viagogo and resale tickets Sites such as viagogo, Stubhub, and Vivid Seats allow fans to buy resale tickets from other fans. However, it is important to note that ticket conditions often prohibit resale after initial purchase. Those tickets may not be valid for admittance to gigs. Fans intending to buy tickets for live events through resale websites should check the ticket terms and conditions, to confirm whether resale is prohibited, before they buy. Ticket terms and conditions can be checked with the original seller, such as Ticketmaster or Live Nation. If resale is prohibited, tickets bought second-hand could be voided and admission to the event refused.

'Drunk' Oasis fan ejected from gig and arrested for assaulting emergency worker

Oasis announced last year that they were finally reuniting for a come-back tour which kicked off last night in Cardiff A drunk Oasis fan was ejected from a gig and arrested for assaulting emergency worker last night. The first show of the reunion tour kicked off last night in Cardiff and there was clearly plenty of drama. Fans gathered from across the globe for the first show of the come-back last night. A video has gone viral online which shows him being carried out by security workers. ‌ Police has since released a statement where they have explained where the fan was from and what happened. They said: "A 36-year-old man from Blyth, Northumberland was ejected from the concert by security, he was arrested for drunk and disorderly conduct and assault on an emergency worker and remains in Police custody." ‌ Oasis announced last year that they would be embarking on a come-back tour around the globe. Brother Noel and Liam Gallagher decided to put their differences aside and perform together again for the first time since 2009. They played for more than 70,000 fans as they sang some of their biggest hits such as Champagne Supernova and Wonderwall. However, the show had more than one bump in the road as one fan had to be rushed out of the gig in Cardiff on a stretcher after falling ill. There was chaos in the crowd when one ill fan was given medical assistance. There was a medical incident in the crowd and one person had to be taken off on a stretcher. An onlooker revealed that one gig goer was seen being carried off by the medical crew, with people waving to get out of the way. The woman who needed medical help was being guided across the front of the stage in the pit area, right by the barrier. The incident happened during the band's song D'You Know What I Mean, before they went on to sing Stand By Me. ‌ Liam and Noel have been open about their fall out over the years but now the brothers have managed to see eye to eye. Ahead of the tour, Noel had given an interview where he discussed the huge universal appeal of Oasis. "A new generation recognises how Oasis wasn't manufactured. It was chaotic, and flawed, and not technically brilliant. We were rough and ready guys from a rehearsal room, and people recognised it," he said. The music star added: "I didn't invent anything. I had good taste in music, a cool record collection, I could write a melody simple enough to make it work, and it was 50% inspiration and 50% copying."
