Colin Cowherd makes bold Nick Saban prediction

Yahoo23-07-2025
Since Greg McElroy started the rumor that Nick Saban may return to coaching, the speculation has been, will it be a return to college or the NFL?
Colin Cowherd thinks he has the answer. Cowherd floated the idea on his podcast that he thinks Saban could end up with the Cleveland Browns.

He says that Browns ownership could offer Saban a five-year deal worth $75 million. But here's the thing, first of all, Saban doesn't need the money.
Saban made millions as Alabama's head coach, still has several endorsements, owns a Mecedeces dealership, and he still works for ESPN.
If he comes back to coaching, it probably won't be for the money. He left as one of, if not the highest paid, coach in the game. What the Browns could do is offer him a piece of the team.
The Browns are supposedly worth over $5 billion, and there are reports out there that Saban may be looking into being an owner of a pro team. If the Browns want to make a serious run at Saban, ownership may be the way to go.
Another point is that Saban likes to be the boss. One of the reasons that Saban left the NFL was because he didn't like being controlled by a general manager and an owner. When he was at Bama, he ran the program; no one else.
He picked his own staff, picked his own players, and played by his own rules. In the NFL, everything has to go through the owner first. And people tend to forget, Saban turns 74 later this year. If he goes back into coaching for even a four-year deal, he'll be 78 years old.
It's not like Saban is jumping into a situation where he can win immediately like he did in college. Building an NFL team takes time, especially with a club like Cleveland. Saban is better off staying retired.

Verizon is offering a NFL Sunday Ticket subscription for free, if you qualify

Andrew Grush / Android Authority TL;DR Verizon is offering the NFL Sunday Ticket free ($480 value) to users adding a new line or switching to Verizon Home Internet. Customers not making these changes can still save over $200 on the NFL Sunday Ticket through Verizon. Verizon customers can also grab limited free NFL game tickets via the My Verizon app on August 7. erizon recently drew some negative attention for removing loyalty discounts alongside a few minor fee increases, but this time, Big Red has something a bit more positive to announce. Once again, Verizon is offering the NFL Sunday Ticket from YouTube for free to select users—representing a value of around $480. The NFL Sunday Ticket promo applies to both new and existing customers and gives you access to every live out-of-market Sunday game. Unfortunately, unlike with T-Mobile's free sports streaming perks in the past, there is a catch here. To get the offer, you'll need to add a new line or switch to Verizon Home Internet. This includes Fios, 5G Home, or LTE Home plans. Don't need a new line or web access? You can still save over $200 on the NFL Sunday Ticket through Verizon versus subscribing directly. In addition to the Sunday Ticket pass, Verizon is also offering a limited number of NFL game tickets up for grabs to all Verizon customers via the My Verizon app on August 7 at 8am EST. Unlike the NFL Sunday Ticket promo, you don't need to add a line or make any other changes to get your hands on these tickets, but be aware that supplies are limited. I'll be honest, I feel like Verizon needed a bigger win here. Recently, it's gotten negative attention for price increases, and while the company has attempted to sweeten things with new perks, this feels like a missed opportunity. Offering the NFL Sunday Ticket for free would have made Verizon's perk program feel like it's at the same level as T-Mobile Tuesdays and might make the recent price increases at least a little easier to swallow. Still, for fans of the NFL, this remains a great way to save a little cash this upcoming football season. Follow

Patriots rookie RB TreVeyon Henderson reacts to Madden NFL 26 rating

New England Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson was asked about his Madden NFL 26 rating, as the popular video game is set to come out this month. The rookie second-round draft pick was officially rated at 76 overall, which is a pretty decent rating for a first-year NFL player. 'They told me it at the NFLPA. You know Madden, you know how Madden get with the rookies. I think my guess is like 60-something. ...76? That's pretty good. For a rookie, that's pretty good," Henderson told NBC 10's Kevin Moore. Henderson has been impressing during training camp, putting together some explosive plays and establishing himself as a key piece in the running back room. Offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels is clearly looking to get him more involved in the playcalling, and it led to him being one of the standout players at Monday's practice. The former Ohio State standout is one of those rare players capable of significantly impacting the game as a runner, receiver, and pass protector. Madden ratings get adjusted over the season, so it would not be surprising to see Henderson's overall rating increase by the midpoint of the year. Regardless, fans of the team and the video game should be excited about what Henderson brings to the table. Follow Patriots Wire on Twitter and Facebook.

Watch Rams WR Puka Nacua surprise NFL rookies with message and signed jersey

Every NFL rookie has players they watched growing up — either right before they entered the league or throughout their childhood. These stars helped shaped who they became as players, and some will even be peers now. Some of the league's current and legendary stars gave to those rookies in an awesome "welcome to the league" video from Fanatics, where NFL rookies were surprised with a message and a signed jersey. Los Angeles Rams receiver Puka Nacua was a featured player who sent a message to some of the top first-round receivers like the Carolina Panthers' Tetairoa McMillan and the Green Bay Packers' Matthew Golden. Other NFL legends were also featured. Take a watch: It's a bit odd to see Nacua featured in a video that includes legendary players like Tom Brady and Hall of Famers like Peyton Manning, but his meteoric rise after just two seasons is also a testament to how quickly a young player can ascend to the top of his craft. Nacua was just a fifth-round pick before he broke out as a rookie and set NFL records. It's funny, too, that Nacua sent a message to McMillan after the Rams reportedly tried to trade up for the ex-Arizona receiver. This is a moment all the rookies will remember when they start their NFL careers. Perhaps McMillan will wear his signed Nacua jersey when the Rams face the Panthers in Charlotte in Week 13.
