Angel Reese's Met Gala Outfit Draws Quick Reaction From Chicago Sky

Yahoo06-05-2025

Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese made a striking appearance at the 2025 Met Gala on Monday night, drawing instant attention not just from fans but also her own team.
Now in her second WNBA season, Reese attended the Met Gala for the second year in a row. This time, she wasn't just walking the bluer carpet—she was also part of the event's celebrity host committee, helping shape the biggest night in fashion.
The 2025 theme, 'Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,' inspired by Monica L. Miller's book 'Slaves to Fashion,' was reflected in Reese's outfit choice.
Reese showed up in a custom Thom Browne ensemble that boasted of a two-piece black dress, a crisp white collared shirt and a matching black tie.
The Sky quickly posted their approval on social media, sharing Getty Images of Reese's blue carpet moment.
'Oh absolutely 😍,' they captioned.
While some questioned her absence from the Sky's May 5 practice ahead of their next preseason game, head coach Tyler Marsh was quick to show his support.
'She puts in a ton of work during the season and in the offseason, extra work,' Marsh said. 'She communicated to her teammates that she would be at the Met Gala and as an organization, we're in support of everyone on and off the court. It's a great experience, a great opportunity for her.'

Marsh added that events like this help boost the league's visibility.
'Any time that we can showcase and highlight the personalities of the players of our league, no matter what team they're from, I think it's a good thing for the league,' he added.
Last year, Reese attended her first Met Gala and played in a Sky preseason game less than 24 hours later. This year, the fashion-forward star timed her trip between games, after scoring 15 points and grabbing 10 rebounds in a May 2 preseason win against Brazil.
With another game scheduled for May 6—her 23rd birthday—Reese continues to balance basketball with a growing presence in fashion and media.

Paige Bueckers Makes WNBA History in Caitlin Clark's Shadow

Paige Bueckers Makes WNBA History in Caitlin Clark's Shadow originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Dallas Wings rookie Paige Bueckers has missed the last four games due to a concussion she suffered in late May, followed by an unexpected illness. Advertisement However, Bueckers made her return for the Wings on Wednesday night, facing Alyssa Thomas and the Phoenix Mercury. And despite possibly shaking off a bit of rush, the former UConn star made some history. Coming into the game, Bueckers had recorded 88 points, 28 rebounds and 40 assists through her first six WNBA games played. With 3:12 remaining in the first quarter, Bueckers hit a three-foot layup off a DiJonai Carrington assist, marking her 12th point of the night and 100th of her young WNBA career. Dallas Wings guard Paige BueckersPatrick Gorski-Imagn Images In doing so, Bueckers now becomes the fourth fastest rookie in WNBA history to reach 100 or more points, 25 or more rebounds and 25 or more assists, doing so in seven games, per Polymarket Hoops. Advertisement Only three players have reached this milestone faster than Bueckers: Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark, Houston Comets legend Cynthia Cooper-Dyke and former Los Angeles Sparks star Candace Parker, each accomplishing it in just six games. Clark not only tied this record during her rookie season, but she also broke several others, including the marks for most assists in a single game and in a single season. While Bueckers may not be able to reach the heights Clark was able to, she is certainly off to a solid start to her WNBA rookie season. Prior to Wednesday's game, she was averaging 14.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and 6.7 assists. But, like Clark, she started her career with a 1-5 record. All Eyes on Caitlin Clark Ahead of Major Injury Update Thursday

All Eyes on Caitlin Clark Ahead of Major Injury Update Thursday originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Indiana Fever appeared somewhat disjointed in their first two games without Caitlin Clark, who has been sidelined with a left quadriceps strain for the past week. Advertisement However, in Clark's third missed game on Tuesday night, the Fever looked much more composed and secured a much-needed 85-76 win over the Washington Mystics led by Kelsey Mitchell, improving their record to 3–4 on the season. Now, with Clark just over a week into the minimum two-week recovery timeline, some notable news has emerged: she is scheduled to speak to the media on Thursday for the first time since the injury, where she is expected to provide an update on her rehab progress. Fever/Pacers reporter Scott Agness reported, "Caitlin Clark is scheduled to speak with reporters on Thursday to provide an update on her status + recovery after being sidelined with a left quad strain the past three games." Fans quickly reacted to the news, with all eyes now turning to Caitlin Clark as anticipation builds for her return to the court. Advertisement "Hope Caitlin's recovery is on track!" A fan said. Someone else added, "im nervous." Another fan posted, "here we go ccfc...." "Why does this make me nervous," a fan shared. One more fan commented, "Dear Basketball gods if you're listening." This upcoming update is crucial, as it has now been nine days since Clark was ruled out with the injury. If her recovery continues on track, a return could be possible as early as next week. NBA Legend Issues Warning to WNBA Over Fever Star Caitlin Clark's Return

NBA Legend Issues Warning to WNBA Over Fever Star Caitlin Clark's Return originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark has missed the last five games after suffering an injury, but the return could be in sight for last season's WNBA Rookie of the Year. Advertisement When she returns, one NBA legend believes the rest of the WNBA could be in trouble. Clark and Fever teammates Natasha Howard and Aliyah Boston sat courtside for Game 3 of the NBA Finals on Wednesday, cheering on the Indiana Pacers as they looked to take a lead in the series against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Announcer Richard Jefferson pointed out Clark, issuing a warning once she can get back on the court with her teammates. "When they get back on the floor, they're going to be an absolute problem," Jefferson said. Clark has been sidelined since suffering a quad strain in the team's game against the New York Liberty on May 24. Advertisement Fever head coach Stephanie White said this week that Clark has progressed through rehab, but she still needs time to get back into the flow of practice and game settings. White added that Clark needs to keep moving forward and not risk re-aggravating the injury. "The most important thing for us is to not position ourselves to have any setbacks," White said. "And so what she's been doing is some on-the-court workouts, and she got into a little bit of practice yesterday in a controlled environment, and we'll continue to build on that." It's not clear when Clark could return to the court. The Fever next take the floor on Saturday against the Liberty.
