'Supernatural' co-stars Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki were close while filming the hit series, but it turns out the pair have maintained that friendship in the years that have followed the series' end — something Ackles thinks might come as a surprise to fans of the show.
'We see each other more often than you would think — honestly, at least once a month,' Ackles told People in an interview published Saturday.

The actor added that it was 'weird' to have Padalecki and the pair's co-stars Misha Collins join him on the set of his current series, 'The Boys.' The duo will both be featured in the fifth and final season of the show.
'It was like inviting my friends over to somebody else's house for dinner,' he explained. 'I was like, 'Listen, guys, don't make me look bad. I got to stay here.' They were amazing. I can't wait to talk more about it because it was quite an experience.'
Ackles and Paladecki starred on 'Supernatural' from the show's debut in 2005 until its final episode in 2020. 'I don't think we ever, ever thought that it would become what it has become,' he said of the show's enduring fanbase.
'It is a phenomenon. I wish I understood the formula. I don't know that there is a formula for that. I truly feel like it was just a lightning strike, and I'm proud — and will forever be proud — of being a part of it.'

Big Countdown Moment Will Lead Amber and Mark to a ‘Complicated Place,' Says Jessica Camacho (VIDEO)

The following contains spoilers from the July 23 episode of , now streaming on Prime Video. The truth — and the whole truth — is now out, on Prime Video's Countdown. But where does that leave terminal Mark and a shellshocked Amber? More from TVLine Dexter: Resurrection's Kadia Saraf, Dominic Fumusa Talk Detectives' 'Moonlighting Energy' and Suspicions of Harrison Casting News: Jack Lowden Leads Berlin Noir Series, Matthew Rhys Is Invincible and More The Summer I Turned Pretty Premiere: Jer Commits an Act of Betrayal - Or Did He? You Be the Judge! We learned back in Episode 1 that veteran LAPD detective Mark Meachum (played by Jensen Ackles) had been diagnosed nine months prior with glioblastoma multiforme, a highly aggressive and malignant type of brain tumor. Last week, DEA agent Amber Oliveras (Jessica Camacho) called out Meachum on his 'junkie'-like behavior, what with all the squinting, forehead-clutching, and taking 20 minutes to descend a stairwell. That teed up a heart-to-heart between the Hurricane Task Force partners, during which Mark confided some of his situation, framing it as 'migraines.' Amber in turn hooked Mark up with prescription pain killers. MARK'S CONFESSION STUNS AMBER In this week's Episode 7, Amber visited Mark at home and, over beers, proffered a vial of new meds that 'disrupt serotonin receptors.' Mark, though, cut her off to plainly state, 'I have a tumor.' 'What…?' a stunned Amber responded. 'Is it treatable? 'Nope.' 'How long…?' she asked of his prognosis. 'Uh, six weeks, six months… doc's not sure,' he shrugged. 'But I'll tell you this,' Mark added upon clocking his partner's concern. 'I'm not going out staring at the sunset on the beach. If I'm going out, I'm going out saving something — this city, these people. If I get that chance, that's what I'll do.' WILL THE (TRAGIC) TRUTH BRING AMBER AND MARK CLOSER? In the meantime, how will Mark's sharing of his terminal fate change things between him and Amber? The two started out at (playful) loggerheads when the task force was first formed, but they have grown closer in recent weeks. In the TVLine video above, Camacho offers, 'The fact that Meachum decides to confide in [Oliveras] means a lot to her.' The sharing of such personal information 'really takes her by surprise, it takes her aback,' the actress notes, 'and I don't think that's something that she takes lightly. Him letting her into his world in that way deepens her desire to show up for him as his partner, as a human… as someone who begins to really, deeply care for this person.' That in turn 'takes their journey' as partners, and maybe more, 'to an interesting and complicated place,' Camacho teases. Or as castmate Violett Beane, sitting beside Camacho in the video, puts it: 'You'll have to watch to find out!' Want scoop on , or for any other TV show? Pete Davidson Admits He Was Concerned About Not Being a 'Very Good' Comedian After Getting Sober

Pete Davidson worried his comedic chops weren't up to snuff after getting sober. When asked if there difference in performing standing since getting sober on the July 22 episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the Saturday Night Live alum, 31, was quick to respond, 'Oh, yeah.' 'That's what I was nervous about because I was like maybe I'm not very good, or maybe I was so high, I thought I was good,' he admitted. Host Jimmy Fallon teased, 'You were like, 'I want to see if I really did this?' I have pictures, but I don't know.' The comedian — who stars in the new movie, — revealed his concerns were unfounded. 'I'm weirdly sharper and more aware, so it's more fun,' he shared. 'Enjoying it more,' Fallon added, to which Davidson said, 'Yeah, when people laugh, you feel it as opposed to just sitting… so high, sitting there.' In January, a source told PEOPLE that Davidson had 'been sober since September [2024], and gained twenty pounds.' 'Things are going really well for him,' the insider said, adding, 'Things are heading in the right direction.' Davidson previously checked into a wellness facility in July 2024 after also seeking treatment to address issues related to PTSD and borderline personality disorder in 2023. The source added Davidson has spent $200,000 to undergo the process of having his multiple tattoos removed from his body as part of his transformation. 'He just woke up one day and wanted them gone, and it's been a years-long process,' the source said of the procedure. During an appearance on Today the same month, Davidson — who started the long-term journey of removing his tattoos in 2020 — explained that his decision to get sober fueled his desire to change his appearance. "I got sober and I saw myself in the mirror and I was like, 'Nah. Who that?' I was like, 'I got to change it up a little bit.'" Davidson and his girlfriend Elsie Hewitt announced another major change coming in their lives: the pair are expecting their first child. Hewitt shared a series of snapshots on Instagram, including a couple of shots of her with the 31-year-old comedian, a sonogram snap and memes from Love Island USA's latest season and Spongebob Squarepants. She also included a clip of the moment the couple saw their little one. "Welp now everyone knows we had sex," she joked. A source previously confirmed to PEOPLE that the pair were dating in March after they were spotted together in Palm Beach, Florida. In photos of their beach date, the couple was seen swimming in the ocean and sharing a smooch in the water. Two months later, an insider told PEOPLE that the couple moved in together. "Pete and Elsie have been living together in New York for the past few months," the source revealed in May. "They're splitting their time between Pete's house in upstate New York and a brownstone they recently started renting in Brooklyn." "They're so happy together and doing great," the insider added.
