A source told The Sun, 'The tribute to Liam at this year's awards show has caused a real buzz and speculation that the remaining One Direction bandmates could finally come back together again on stage.'
The source added that the reunion could be the most befitting way to honor the late singer. The insider noted, 'Talks are already underway about how to make this segment of the Brits unforgettable. Liam loved the Brit Awards and attended and performed many times over the years, both with 1D and as a solo artist. He will forever be part of the show's history.'
Additionally, former One Direction member Zayn Malik has also hinted at the possibility of the group's much-awaited reunion. The 32-year-old singer teased fans on his Stairway to the Sky tour, asking if they would also like to hear some 1D songs.
During his tour, Malik reportedly told the attendees, 'Maybe I'll mix it up at some point, maybe a 1D song in there or something.' The audience's response proved how much all the Directioners had been waiting for the historic reunion.
The former beau of Gigi Hadid dropped another clue at the concert, clarifying, 'Don't get excited, not tonight! Sorry, I didn't mean to tease you like [that] it's not tonight.' Since the concert night, fans speculate that Malik might have meant a different occasion. Perhaps he will join One Direction members to honor the legacy of Payne.
