Katy Perry Has Butterfly Mishap During Her Concert

Katy Perry Has Butterfly Mishap During Her Concert

Buzz Feed19-07-2025
Last (Friday) night, Katy Perry experienced a mid-performance malfunction that gave her fans quite the scare.
During the San Francisco stop of "The Lifetimes Tour", Katy performed her 2013 hit "Roar" at the Chase Center when the giant mechanical butterfly she was riding jerked and fell in front of the sold-out arena.
In a fan-captured video, Katy was suspended high above the crowd as the butterfly jolts, causing the audience to gasp. Security and the tech crew rushed backstage as the "Firework" singer held on tightly to the prop as it descended.
Despite the scary moment, Katy didn't miss a beat. She suffered no injuries and continued singing "Roar" to the crowd's applause. However, it still gave her fans quite a scare. Katy suffered a similar mid-air malfunction last month in Australia. She began to tilt while riding a flying contraption, as she held on to the wires.
It's been a summer of flying concert mishaps, as Beyoncé suffered a prop malfunction during her Houston stop for the Cowboy Carter tour when her flying car was visibly leaning midair. That said, concerned fans are questioning whether the stunts are worth it.
"yea it's time for these artist to get out the air…," one fan wrote.
Another person said, "From Bey to Katy… let's keep our boots on the ground."
"these artists gotta stop fr .. about to risk your lives omg. safety first!" someone else person wrote.
Another X user said, "These flying stage props need to be banned because there's way too many people at risk from these malfunctioning.."
This person made a valid point, writing, "omgggg so happy she's safe this is so terrifying!! .. oh the amount of dangerous stunts pop girlies have to do in order to entertain us meanwhile male artist get on stage with a hoodie and call it a day."
"Whatever happened to artist just with just a mic and a stage? Let's get back to simpler times. Get your behinds out the air."
Katy has since shared a photo on her Instagram Stories, seemingly addressing the incident, writing," Good Night San Fran." With her full-scale world tour set to continue, let's hope this doesn't happen again.

Donald Trump says Beyoncé should be 'prosecuted' for alleged Harris endorsement payment

Donald Trump still has a political bone to pick with Queen Bey. The president, who has previously voiced criticism of celebrities who showed support for his election counterpart, Kamala Harris, took to social media on Saturday, July 26, to renew his unfounded claim that pop star Beyoncé was allegedly paid $11 million to endorse Harris' presidential bid. In the lead-up to the 2024 presidential election, the "Cowboy Carter" songstress made her endorsement of Harris official when she appeared at the former vice president's abortion rights rally in her hometown of Houston in October. She also cleared the usage of her 2016 song "Freedom" for Harris, and the tune became the Democratic nominee's official campaign song. "I'm looking at the large amount of money owed by the Democrats after the presidential election and the fact that they admit to paying, probably illegally, $11 million dollars to singer Beyoncé for an ENDORSEMENT (she never sang, not one note...)," wrote Trump in a fiery Truth Social post, also citing alleged endorsement payments to media mogul Oprah Winfrey and civil rights activist Al Sharpton. USA TODAY has reached out to a representative for Beyoncé for comment. "Can you imagine what would happen if politicians started paying for people to endorse them. All hell would break out!" Trump concluded. "Kamala and all of those that received endorsement money BROKE THE LAW. They should all be prosecuted! Thank you for your attention to this matter." Trump's digital tirade comes just two months after he accused the Grammy-winning singer and other celebrities of being paid to publicly support Harris' candidacy. In a May Truth Social post, the GOP president announced plans for a "major investigation" into the Harris campaign's celebrity endorsements. Catch up: Trump calls Beyoncé's endorsement of Kamala Harris 'illegal' Did Beyoncé receive payment for Kamala Harris endorsement? At the time of Trump's original allegations in May, the Federal Election Commission had no record of an $11 million payment to Beyoncé from Harris' presidential campaign. Additionally, the agency does not have rules explicitly prohibiting candidates from paying for endorsements. It is unclear where Trump got the unsubstantiated $11 million figure. The Harris campaign last year rejected a rumor that it paid Beyoncé $10 million for her endorsement that spread on social media shortly after the music star's October 2024 appearance with Harris. Beyoncé's mother, Tina Knowles, also pushed back at the $10 million rumor in a November 2024 Instagram post, calling it "false information" and a "lie." She added that the singer "actually paid for her own flights for her and her team." Oprah Winfrey says she was not paid a 'personal fee' for Kamala Harris rally What has Beyoncé said about Kamala Harris campaign? During her October 2024 appearance at Harris' rally, Beyoncé, who was joined by fellow singer and Destiny's Child alum Kelly Rowland, said "It's time for America to sing a new song" when describing Harris' presidential bid. "I'm not here as a celebrity. I'm not here as a politician. I'm here as a mother," the pop star added. "Your freedom is your God-given right, your human right." Harris has long been a fan of Beyoncé. The California-born politician attended the singer's Renaissance World Tour in 2023 just outside of Washington, D.C., after she gifted Harris tickets. Beyonce, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams Have Destiny's Child Reunion at ‘Cowboy Carter' Concert

Beyoncé just closed out her Cowboy Carter and the Rodeo Chitlin' Circuit Tour with a bang — and staged a Destiny's Child reunion to celebrate. Beyoncé, 43, performed at Las Vegas' Allegiant Stadium on Saturday, July 26, where her former bandmates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams made a surprise appearance. Beyoncé rose from underneath the stage at one point, flanked by Rowland, 44, and Williams, 46, in now-viral social media footage. The trio coordinated in sparkling gold bodysuits as they performed hits like 'Bootylicious' and 'Lose My Breath.' Beyoncé even entrusted her longtime pals for the evening's 'Mute Challenge,' where the crowd is instructed to be completely silent before the song resumes. 'Just me and my crew,' Beyoncé quipped, switching up the lyrics. 'Big energy!' Beyonce Reunites With Destiny's Child at 50th Birthday Celebration for Kelly Rowland's Husband Long before kicking off her impressive and accolade-filled solo career, Beyoncé was a founding member of Destiny's Child alongside Rowland, LaTavia Roberson and LeToya Luckett. After the latter two left the girl group in 2000, Williams came aboard. Destiny's Child officially disbanded six years later as Beyoncé, Rowland and Williams all went on to pursue solo careers. Beyoncé, Rowland and Williams have since reunited multiple times through the years, including at Beyoncé's 2013 Super Bowl halftime show and set at Coachella in 2018. Beyoncé's dad, Mathew Knowles, later hoped to see the girls perform together once more. 'I certainly hope so. I also understand that Kelly and Beyoncé are mothers and they have a family and that changes the dynamics,' Knowles, 73, exclusively told Us Weekly in May 2020. 'Each one of the ladies are successful in their own right. They all have their individual solo careers. So coordinating family, careers, that's a lot of juggling. I'm sure in due time the ladies will decide if that's what they want to do and if they do or do not as supportive as I could be as their manager.' Kelly Rowland Praises 11-Year-Old Blue Ivy's Work Ethic on Beyonce's 'Renaissance Tour': 'I'm Very Proud' He added, '[Their Coachella performance] shows how much they practiced, that 10 years later they cannot miss a beat. It's just remarkable. It shows that their dedication was really there. I know these ladies, they have strong work ethics. I'm extremely proud of all three of them.' Rowland is a mom of two, sharing sons Titan, 10, and Noah, 4, with her husband, Tim Weatherspoon. Beyoncé, meanwhile, shares daughter Blue Ivy, 13, and twins Sir and Rumi, both 7, with husband Jay-Z. Beyoncé's daughters, Blue and Rumi, have also both been frequent presences during performances of 'Protector' on the Cowboy Carter Tour. Solve the daily Crossword

Beyoncé ends tour with a bang in Vegas: Destiny's Child, Jay-Z, Shaboozey join her onstage

Beyoncé Knowles-Carter closed the curtain on her historic "Cowboy Carter" tour, delivering a final performance filled with surprises, special guests and power as she commanded the stage one last time. The Grammy-winning singer kicked off her final concert at Allegiant Stadium in Vegas on July 25. The concert marked her last of two back-to-back shows at the stadium on her Cowboy Carter and the Rodeo Chitlin' Circuit Tour. It also signaled the end of her "Cowboy Carter" era, concluding the 32-stop stadium tour. 'Thank you and welcome! We have a very special show for y'all tonight,' Beyoncé said as she opened the show. And true to her word, surprise guests and performances lit up the night. Of course, Beyoncé first debuted the highly anticipated show at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on April 28 with 39 songs on the set list. The tour proved to be revolutionary spectacle filled with fashion, different music genres and most notably country music and cultural commentary. Destiny's Child reunites onstage for surprise performance One of the biggest moments of the night came when Beyoncé brought out her former Destiny's Child group members for a surprise performance. Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams stunned the crowd as they joined her onstage, delivering throwback hits like their 2001 anthem 'Bootylicious' and 2005 hit 'Lose My Breath.' The crowd erupted as the trio sang their individual parts and danced in sync with energy and chemistry. Shaboozey joins Beyoncé for surprise performance during her Las Vegas finale Another surprise came when Shaboozey took the stage and performed with Beyoncé for the first time during Saturday's show. "Give it up for Shaboozey y'all," Beyoncé said as he joined her onstage. Donning a white tank and American flag scarf and pants, he performed their hit 'Sweet Honey Buckin'' while Beyoncé sang and danced alongside him. Shaboozey was first spotted at Beyoncé's "Cowboy Carter" tour in Chicago, attending her second show at Solider Field on May 17. As the show ended, she gave him a special shoutout. As fans know, Beyoncé released her eighth studio album "Cowboy Carter" March 29. The country album has made history on multiple fronts and put a spotlight on Black country artists. Jay-Z joins Beyoncé onstage, once again, during final Vegas show Beyoncé also welcomed husband Jay-Z to the stage as they sang their 2003 song, "Crazy in Love." He followed it up with his 2011 hit, 'Ni**as in Paris.' Jay has joined Beyoncé several times on this tour, after first making a surprise cameo in Paris on June 22, and fans were still stunned to see him the final night. Once again, they sealed the performance with a kiss. Bey also brought back fan-favorite tracks from her 2013 self-titled album: "Partition" and "Drunk in Love." In addition to special guests and surprise performances there were other notable highlights from the finale. Beyoncé debuts new looks on final night, including 'Deja Vu' shirt Of course, Beyoncé's tour has been a huge showcase of fashion and creativity. Each night, Beyoncé continues to blend high fashion and cowboy couture, keeping fans on the edge of their seats as they anticipate a new look. There's been many looks incorporating Western-glam: sparkly chaps, cowboy hats, boots and piles of fringe. During the final show, Beyoncé showcased even more fresh looks. One outfit, in particular, caught fans' eyes as she wore a 'Deja Blue' shirt in support of her 13-year-old daughter and lead dancer — Blue Ivy. Blue has left a lasting impression, often dancing front and center throughout the tour. This included a standout performance to Beyoncé's 2006 song 'Deja Vu.' Beyoncé receives standing ovations throughout the night from a roaring crowd As one might imagine, the night was charged with electric energy from start to finish. There were several standing ovations, loud cheers and moments where Beyoncé seemed to soak it all in. At one point she told the Vegas crowd they might actually be the loudest of the tour. 'I want y'all to know these tours take years and years and years. I actually started working on this tour before the 'Renaissance,'' she told the crowd before calling the night special. Earlier in the day, Beyoncé's Parkwood Entertainment company underscored the final concert's significance. "It's national day of the cowboy," the company posted on Instagram. "A tribute to the roots. A celebration of the style. And the final ride of the Cowboy Carter era. Today we honor the legacy of the Black cowboys who shaped this country — and the hive who showed up with pride, leather and the legacy in every look." The nine-city tour spanned the U.S. and Europe, captivating audience on both sides of the Atlantic.
