It's not every day we see celebrities getting hitched to their partners who aren't in the same industry as them, and nothing wrong with that! In most cases, it's the perfect trope for every successful romance flick; to them, it's reality.
Yesterday (Monday, 12th May), Marvel actor Simu Liu got engaged to his long-time partner, Allison Hsu, a marketing director at Interscope Records. The pair announced their engagement through their respective Instagram accounts, showcasing their dream destination proposal in Paris.
The couple has been together since November 2020, when Allison had hard-launched their relationship on Instagram. Ever since, they've been inseparable. The newly engaged are all smiles in the city of Paris over the week, with Allison showcasing her oval-cut diamond ring on the balcony overlooking the Eiffel Tower. She captioned her post with, 'Us forever'.
Meanwhile, the actor shared a picturesque Instagram photo of Allison in his arms, where his fiancée perfectly showcases her ring. Many fans and celebrities alike have flooded the comments section. Notable stars such as Florence Pugh, Laufey, John Legend and the Barbie account shared their well wishes. Florence Pugh commented, 'AHHHHHHH HOW AMAZING! Sending love to you both'. Another well-liked comment from Instagram user @/kerireddy85 reads, 'Shang Chi and the Legend of the Engagement Ring', paying homage to Liu's Marvel role in the 2021 film 'Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings'.

Netizens React To Tom Felton Reprising His Role As Draco Malfoy In The 'Harry Potter' Broadway Show

Tom Felton, belovedly known for his role as Draco Malfoy in the 'Harry Potter' franchise, has always been surrounded by the series, making small comebacks and cameos here and there for the adoring fans. Once in and while, fans will receive a remake or spin-off of the books, but this time, we might just be getting an original cast member in a reprise. With a 14-year gap since his debut in the 'Harry Potter' series, Tom Felton is set to reprise his role in his Broadway debut of 'Harry Potter and the Cursed Child' stage show. Starting from 11th November 2025 for a 19-week run, the stage show is set 19 years after the original series, which follows the story of Albus Potter and Scorpius Malfoy. Playing from 11th November 2025 to 22nd March 2026 at the Lyric Theatre in New York City, Tom's reprise as Draco Malfoy marks the first time a member of the 'Harry Potter' film cast has joined the stage production. 'Being a part of the Harry Potter films has been one of the greatest honours of my life. Joining this production will be a full-circle moment for me, because when I begin performances in Cursed Child this fall, I'll also be the exact age Draco is in the play', comments the actor, who is now 37 years old, in a statement. Netizens provide mixed reactions towards the news, with some protecting Tom's stance in his recurring role in the 'Harry Potter' franchise, with Twitter user @/onyxicca commenting, 'Why do people treat passion like it's a pathology? He (Tom Felton) doesn't need to 'move on'. He's just not ashamed to love what shaped him'. While some fans rejoice at his return to the Wizarding World, most fans aren't too happy about his affiliation with J.K. Rowling. Instagram user @/abbyrbryan commented, 'During Pride month? After J.K. Rowling talked about giving her money to anti-trans organisations? Knowing she gets money from this production? I'm disappointed', noting on the author's legal fighting fund for cis-women protecting their sex-based rights, which deepens her financial commitment to anti-transgender legislation. In recent years, the 'Harry Potter' author has been caught up in controversy regarding her views on the transgender movement and often has come out as going against it. #SHOWBIZ: Jessie J diagnosed with breast cancer, plans surgery after upcoming London festival

LONDON: English pop star Jessie J has revealed she has been diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer and will undergo surgery following her performance at Capital's Summertime Ball in London next weekend. The 37-year-old singer shared the news in an emotional Instagram video on Wednesday, with a caption that read: "I was diagnosed with early breast cancer. Cancer sucks in any form, but I'm holding onto the word 'early.'" Known for her candid humour, the artiste added, "It's a very dramatic way to get a boob job. I'm going to disappear for a bit after Summertime Ball to have my surgery, and I'll come back with massive (expletive) and more music." The Summertime Ball, a major annual music festival, is set to take place at Wembley Stadium on June 15. Jessie stated she felt it was important to speak openly about her diagnosis. "I just wanted to be open and share it. Selfishly, I don't talk about it enough. I'm not processing it because I'm working so hard. "But I know how much sharing in the past has helped me, through love, support, and hearing other people's stories. "I'm an open book. It breaks my heart that so many people are going through something similar or worse; that's the part that kills me." A Grammy-nominated artiste, she is known for her powerhouse vocals and R&B-infused pop hits, including 'Domino' and the chart-topping 2014 collaboration 'Bang Bang' with Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande. She has released five albums, most recently the 2018 holiday project 'This Christmas Day,' and has been putting out new music in 2025, including singles 'Living My Best Life' and 'No Secrets.' A new album is expected later this year. Jessie is also a mother to her son, Sky Safir Cornish Colman, born in 2023.
