Yahoo10-06-2025
Lil Wayne was in the house at Monday night's (June 9) 2025 BET Awards, with the rap icon taking the stage to perform both a new song and a classic track on the heels of the release of his new album Tha Carter VI.
Weezy's performance came a little over an hour into the show, with the star making a dramatic entrance as a gospel choir in red robes sang and fog clouded the Peacock Theater stage in Los Angeles. As the audience greeted him with raucous applause, Wayne fittingly opened with 'Welcome to Tha Carter,' which is the second track from his latest LP.

Tunechi then rolled seamlessly into his next selection for the night, giving fans a blast from the past by dusting off his 2008 hit 'A Milli.' As he recited the iconic bars with a big smile on his face, fans in the crowd rapped along to the lines 'A million here, a million there.'
Peaking at No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100, 'A Milli' was one of several hits on Wayne's critically acclaimed Billboard 200-topper Tha Carter III, aka the third installment in his yearslong Tha Carter album series. The rapper recently added to the series with the long-awaited June 6 release of Tha Carter VI, a sprawling 19-track effort featuring collaborations with Wyclef Jean, BigXthaPlug, Jelly Roll, MGK and more co-stars.
The same day he dropped Tha Carter VI, Wayne kicked off his tour in support of the album with a performance at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Weezy is up for a few prizes at the 25th-anniversary BET Awards — hosted this year by Kevin Hart — including best male hip hop artist against BigXthaPlug, Bossman DLow, Burna Boy, Drake, Future, Kendrick Lamar, Key Glock and Tyler, The Creator. Wayne is also nominated twice in the best collaboration category, with both his work on Bless with Wheezy and Young Thug and 'Sticky' with Tyler, GloRilla and Sexyy Red picking up nods.

Machine Gun Kelly Addresses Sydney Sweeney Dating Rumors After Recent PDA Moment

Machine Gun Kelly publicly addressed rumors of a romance with Sydney Sweeney. During an appearance on the Sunday, August 10, episode of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, MGK, whose real name is Colson Baker, was asked point-blank about his relationship with Sweeney, 27. Andy Cohen read from a question card that contained a viewer query from 'Kyle P.' The TV host said, 'MGK, Kyle P wants to know if there's any truth to the rumor that you and Sydney Sweeney were more than just friends.' MGK, 35, responded while shaking his head and looking directly down the camera barrel, 'Kyle P, shut up, dude,' at which Cohen and the audience laughed loudly. Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly's Relationship Timeline, From Costars to Couple In May, photos published by Page Six showed the musician and Sweeney hugging at a Las Vegas club opening. Later that month, MGK shared an Instagram carousel that included a snap of himself posing alongside Sweeney as they flashed peace signs at the camera. (Patrick Schwarzenegger and Hollywood hair stylist Glen Oropeza were also in the snap.) An Instagram Story shared by Sweeney at the time, published by the outlet, also featured a photo of herself posing with Schwarzenegger, 31, and MGK at the Vegas event. Both MGK and Sweeney are currently single after the musician's split from Megan Fox was confirmed by Us Weekly in December 2024, and Sweeney's engagement to Jonathan Davino was called off in May. (MGK shares a daughter, Saga, 4 months, with Fox, 39, in addition to daughter Casie, 16, whom he shares with ex Emma Cannon.) MGK and Sweeney have been friends for years, with Sweeney starring in MGK's 2021 directorial debut, Downfalls High. The pair also appeared in the 2019 film Big Time Adolescence alongside MGK's close friend Pete Davidson. MGK's appearance on WWHL also saw an audience member ask him who his dream musical collaboration would be, living or dead, to which he responded, ' I like Frank, man, Frank Sinatra. I'll do that.' Machine Gun Kelly Sings About Wanting a Lover to 'Stay With Me' 5 Months After Megan Fox Split He was also asked by Cohen about how age, which garnered an interesting response from MGK: 'It's a weird thing, dude, I don't know if it exists.' Cohen likened MGK's 'connection to' his age to that of Mariah Carey, who told Harper's Bazaar in July that she doesn't 'allow' herself to age, which drew MGK to say, 'I just don't know many facts about my life, so I'm starting to just be like, like, my skin, if it just rips open, it heals really quick, there's just things where I'm starting to be, like, who's my dad, you know?' Hinting that he may have otherworldly origins, MGK noted that he once asked his mother if there was any 'period of time where you went missing,' which provided an unusual answer. 'She told me she got abducted at one point so I was just, like,' MGK said with a shrug. Solve the daily Crossword

Watch Tate McRae's Reaction to Losing Her Shoe On Stage

Tate McRae is one hell of a performer. Her stage presence has leveled up with three albums and several hits on the Billboard Hot 100 chart under her belt, and the proof is in her Miss Possessive Tour. While Tate has the range to sing heart-wrenching ballads like 'Chaotic' and 'You Broke Me First,' she's also known for her pro-dancing background and steamy hits like 'Sports Car' and 'Greedy.' For those high-choreography performances, she's adopted an alter ego called Tatiana to step into the zone of Main Pop Girl. However, she fully stepped out of Tatiana mode during a recent performance in Edmonton, Canada, on August 7, when she accidentally kicked her shoe off while dancing. According to fan-captured footage, her black heel flung to the side of the stage in the middle of her 'Exes' choreo, prompting her to stand still and say, 'What the fuck?!' Tate laughed it off as she decided to take off her other shoe and lock back in to becoming Tatiana. As the fan wrote, 'our diva continues,' because the show must go on, people! This isn't the first time this has happened to Miss Tate. During another performance at the same show, she lost her shoe while hitting her marks and had to search for them in between songs. 'Hold on, fuck the music. I need to put my shoes back on,' she said, adding, 'Who took them? No, one sec!' The 'Revolving Door' singer then ran across the stage trying to track down the pair of shoes. 'Okay, we got it back together. Sorry about the malfunction, guys,' she laughed, adding that she tends to lose her footwear while performing in Canada. 'This always seems to happen to me in Alberta. Hometown curse, I guess.' Tate is a total pro in the thick of her Miss Possessive Tour, which kicked off in the U.K. on June 22. She's currently making her way through North America, hitting cities from Saint Paul to Orlando, until it wraps at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles this November.

There's A New ‘KPop Demon Hunters' Song You Haven't Heard

Golden by HUNTR/X from the Netflix animated film KPop Demon Hunters just hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, a first for any KPop group. Some have said that this doesn't 'count' because the group is fictional, but there are obviously very real voices behind those characters. And one of them just released a new KPop Demon Hunters song. Kind of. Rei Ami is an American singer, rapper and voice actress originally from South Korea, and she is the singing voice of the HUNTR/X rapper Zoey in the film, as each character had both a speaking voice actor (in Zoey's case, Ji-young Yoo) and a singing voice for their tracks. On social media, Rei Ami responded to a request from a fan about an apparently teased diss track from Zoey targeting the Saja Boys, wondering if she could do a full version. And she did. The track, which doesn't have an official name, was written by Rei Ami, Reibes and Hunters. The beat is BMTJ via YouTube. She says it was compiled via Instagram and Tik Tok Live over the course of two days. Here it is: The track is about 1:20, which is obviously shorter than most of the other songs from HUNTR/X and the rest on the official soundtrack, but despite its low-key production, easily sounds like something that could have shown up in the film. KPop Demon Hunters continues to break record after record, arguably its biggest being yesterday, topping the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time for a Kpop group with the track Golden. But besides that? While there are rumblings behind the scenes about what Netflix has planned next for KPop Demon Hunters, like a trilogy of films and maybe even a live-action remake and a stage show, nothing official has been announced yet (Update: They've just announced a sing-along theater event). The movie is such a huge hit it is probably hard to process and figure out next steps, given that they've clearly given birth to an enormous franchise suddenly out of nowhere. But I expect we're about to hear the next stage of HUNTR/X and the Demon Hunters soon enough. Follow me on Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram.
