Will Ashley planning to work on an album

GMA Networka day ago
There's no doubt that Will Ashley is a talented singer.
Fans who first heard his vocals during the Big Carnival Concert inside the "Pinoy Big Brother" house rediscovered his old song covers, and once he left Bahay ni Kuya, he dropped a cover of "Multo" by Cup of Joe on social media.
So is an album something that the Nation's Son is keen to work on in the future?
In an interview with GMA News Online on the sidelines of the GMA Gala 2025, Will said it is already on the pipeline for him.
"Yeah, 'yung album pina-plan ko na siya. Hopefully by this month magawa ko na. Pero kung hindi, soon 'yun, soon," he said.
"Actually nakasulat na ko ng mga kanta before pa and looking forward ako na malabas," he added.
Asked if the songs are dedicated to anyone, Will said: "Ay wala, para sa sarili ko lang talaga."
Aside from singing, Will also plays the guitar and has superb dancing skills. Inside Bahay ni Kuya, he is known as the Kaldag King for his signature move.
The Sparkle actor will once again perform on stage at The Big ColLOVE fancon on Sunday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. Tickets for the event are already sold out, but livestream access is available for purchase.
Meanwhile, Will is part of the cast of "Bar Boys: After School." He will also appear on "Sanggang-Dikit FR" and an upcoming music video.
At #GMAGala2025, @WillAshley05 told GMA News Online that he plans to release an album soon. @gmanews pic.twitter.com/zZXt2OLcT3 — Marisse Panaligan (@marspanaligan) August 4, 2025

Yasmien Kurdi wears same gown from 'StarStruck' days in GMA Gala 2025

Yasmien Kurdi paid homage to her "StarStruck" days at the GMA Gala 2025. On social media, the Kapuso actress shared a photo of herself on the blue carpet at the gala night, confidently strutting in a red tube gown—an upcycled version of the one she wore 21 years ago. "Do you remember this gown? This is the very same gown I wore during Starstruck's Judgement Night 21 years ago!" Yasmien said. According to Yasmien, she wanted to quietly pay tribute to everything GMA Network has done for her, so she decided to have the gown upcycled by Filipino fashion designer JC Buendia. "I had the best time at the Gala reconnecting with old friends who truly feel like family. Happy 75th, GMA! Here's to many more years of storytelling and memories," she wrote. Yasmien was among the contestants of "StarStruck" Season 1 that aired on GMA Network in 2023. She finished as the First Princess with Jennylyn Mercado being hailed as the Ultimate Female Survivor. She is married to Rey Soldevilla and has two daughters, Ayesha and Raya. —Jade Veronique Yap/MGP, GMA Integrated News

David Licauco, Jillian Ward not worried about chemistry in 'Never Say Die' despite age gap

David Licauco and Jillian Ward are not worried about building their chemistry in their upcoming series "Never Say Die" despite their large age gap. In an interview with GMA News Online on the sidelines of the GMA Gala 2025, the Pambansang Ginoo admitted initially feeling a little uncertain about their tandem. "To be honest with you, the first thing na naisip ko is babagay kaya? 'Di ba, to be completely honest," he said. "Pero s'yempre kahit naman sino maiisip 'yun kung bago 'yung makakasama mo sa isang teleserye." "But Jillian is such a great actress and I'd like to think na OK naman ako so I think it will work," he added. Asked about their age difference—David is 31 and while Jillian is 20—the actor said it will all boil down to their acting. "Well mukha pa naman kasi akong 19 eh. Joke lang," he quipped. Jillian, meanwhile, said she is grateful for the opportunity to work with David. "Feeling ko may matututunan ako sa kanya. For sure mas marami siyang alam compared sa akin so I wanna learn from him," the Star of the New Gen told GMA News Online. Asked if there is some awkwardness between them at first, Jillian said there was none because of her long experience as a child actress. "Parang wala naman po lalo na especially ako ang dami ko na rin pong naka-work na of all ages, iba-ibang age so far," she said. "Never Say Die" held their story conference last week. David and Jillian lead a star-studded cast that includes Kim Ji Soo, Richard Yap, Raheel Bhyria, Angelou De Leon, Analyn Barro, Wendell Ramos, Raymart Santiago, and more. —CDC, GMA Integrated News
