Fundraiser for Scottish ice hockey star who fell to death at Ibiza Rocks hits £30,000
Gary Kelly, 19, from Dundee, died instantly in the fall at the four-star hotel on the party island during the early hours of Monday, July 21. Two ambulances were sent to the scene but paramedics said there was nothing they could do to save him, reports The Record.
Evan Thomson, from Aberdeen, died at the hotel under similar circumstances while on holiday celebrating his 26th birthday just two weeks ago. Gary's family have been left heartbroken by the events and a fundraiser was set up to support his loved ones.

Over £30,000 has now been raised and it's understood the cash will soon be transferred over to the family to help with funeral payments and other costs.
A statement on the GoFundMe reads: "We are all feeling the loss of young Gary Kelly. And I know you can't put a price on life. But hopefully we can help the family through this as a nicer young man and family you would struggle to find."
Tributes flooded in from Gary as the news broke of his untimely death earlier this week.
Writing online, his sister Kharis Kelly said: "Our hearts are shattered beyond words. Our handsome boy has gone to the other side, Absolutely no words. We are asking everyone to respect our privacy as a family while we try to navigate through this tragic news. You'll forever be our boy Gary, Sleep tight."
His girlfriend Louise Essery published a tribute to Gary, who she described as inspirational across every area of his life.
She said: "I never thought I would be sat here writing a goodbye. For those who knew Gary, oh you were so lucky. His passion and dedication was inspiring, whether in hockey, work, or with loved ones. I'm struggling to understand how you are no longer with me.
"It hasn't really hit me yet. Gary taught and showed me valuable lessons that I'll carry with me forever. I think it's important to remember the good times and to celebrate the love he brought into our lives."
Gary, who played ice hockey for both Dundee Stars and Aberdeen Lynx last season, was remembered as a 'hugely talented and charismatic individual'.

Meanwhile Ibiza Rocks have resumed their schedule just days after Gary plunged to his death.
Following the deaths of Gary and Evan, who both fell from balconies at the hotel, bosses announced they would be suspending all events.
It was previously reported the hotel were still selling party tickets despite saying they were pausing future events.
And bosses then confirmed their investigations had concluded - with their schedule resuming on Saturday.
Dizzee Rascal was scheduled to play at the hotel on Wednesday as part of the venue's '20th birthday celebrations' but that was postponed. However, Rudimental are still set to perform on July 30 for the
Following Evan's death his loved ones raised questions about the hotel safety, slamming how the party destination handled the situation.
Friend Blair Robertson said they tried hard to 'get things back to normal' following the death.
He added: 'Security took us away to front desk. Paramedics didn't arrive for about 30 minutes. Forensic officers didn't speak English. We were just standing there, not knowing what was going on. Reception gave us false hope.
"We heard the jet washes cleaning the ground where Evan died. That was the worst thing for us."

FC Barcelona honors Kobe Bryant with 'Mamba Mentality'-inspired road uniforms
Kobe Bryant will always be remembered as a Lakers legend and one of basketball's all-time greats. But in February 2009 — in the middle of his 13th NBA season — Bryant appeared on the cover of ESPN the Magazine wearing another team's uniform and playing an entirely different sport. The cover shot showed Bryant in full FC Barcelona gear and performing some pretty fancy footwork with a soccer ball. In a video for ESPN the Magazine, Bryant explained that he was a longtime soccer fan who had become "captivated" by superstar Ronaldinho, who played for Barca from 2003-2008. "That's how I started following the team," Bryant said, "and from that point forward I just stuck with them.' Now, more than 16 years later, Barcelona players will be wearing Bryant-inspired uniforms. Revealed Tuesday by Nike and Barca, the team's 2025-26 away kits will feature a number of nods toward the late NBA legend and his famous Mamba Mentality. The colors are variations of the Lakers' purple and gold. A snakeskin pattern is featured on the shorts and portions of the jersey. Bryant's "Kobe Sheath" logo appears prominently, including on the upper right section of the jersey where the Nike Swoosh would normally be placed. "Born from a shared obsession with relentless self-improvement, the partnership brings the Kobe Sheath to professional football for the first time through a collection that captures the dedication and values central to Kobe's legacy and Barça's DNA," Nike said in a press release. Family members of girl killed in sailboat crash near Miami Beach arrive in South Florida
Family members of one of the two girls who died in a deadly sailboat crash near Miami Beach on Monday have arrived in Miami. Seven-year-old Mila Yankelevich is the granddaughter of Cris Morena and Gustavo Yankelevich, two prominent Argentinian media producers. On Wednesday, they landed at Miami International Airport on a flight from Buenos Aires, but did not wish to make a comment. She was the youngest daughter of television producer and director Tomas Yankelevich and actress Sofia Reca. Yankelevich, who lived in both Surfside and Argentina with her family, is remembered as a joyful child who loved dancing, singing and dressing up in costumes. Along with Yankelevich, a 13-year-old girl, who has not been identified, also died as a result of the crash. They were among five girls and a camp counselor who were aboard the sailboat when it was struck by a barge in Biscayne Bay between Hibiscus Island and Monument Island, authorities said. An 8-year-old girl and an 11-year-old girl remain in critical condition at Jackson Memorial Hospital, according to the Coast Guard. A 12-year-old girl and a 19-year old woman were evaluated on-site after the crash but were not taken to a hospital. The Coast Guard, which is the lead agency in the crash investigation, said Tuesday it will be thorough. "Know that we grieve with you. We will not take this lightly and we will not forget. We owe you answers and we are committed to finding them," Coast Guard Miami Sector Commander Frank Florio said. Florio said they have interviewed the captain of the tugboat that was piloting the barge. "We did do alcohol testing and we have conducted the chemical testing as well," he said. Those test results are pending. The children were part of a summer sailing camp operated by the Miami Yacht Club and affiliated with the Miami Youth Sailing Foundation. Members of the Miami Yacht Club are asking for privacy at this time. The club said they are closed Maldonado contributed to this report.

The Skant Is the Perfect Transseasonal Item
It may be the heat of summer, but we're already looking ahead to the fall. The jump from shorts and lightweight dresses to heavy-duty trousers and raw denim, however, doesn't happen overnight. Enter: the skant. While wearing pants underneath skirts and dresses is a perfectly viable option for the transseasonal wardrobe, over the last year or so, I've become particularly interested in the skant—a pair of pants with a built-in overskirt. Last summer, I invested in a pair from Paloma Wool (perhaps the foremost skant producer)—a sheer brown pair with a matching miniskirt. On muggy summer days, I pair it with a tank top and sandals, but when the weather cools down, it works just as well with a cardigan. Kaia Gerber, September 2024 GAPZ, OSPO I'm not the only one who sees the value of a skant—celebrities are into it, too. Just last week, Jennifer Lawrence went out to dinner in a pair of sheer navy trousers overlain with a below-the-knee skirt, a hole-ridden tee, and strappy Prada kitten heels. The breezy skant was the perfect middleman between Lawrence's ultra-casual T-shirt and her dressier sandals. Kaia Gerber has also used the skant to add some visual intrigue to an otherwise standard outfit. Late last year, the model livened up a navy crop top and black ballet flats with a gray miniskirt atop straight-legged trousers, also Paloma Wool (are you sensing a pattern?). The Spanish brand isn't the only skant connoisseur, though: Collina Strada, MM6, and ASOS have also offered their take on the doubled-up look. And for anyone who wants to try a different look, consider a dress over pants set. Last October, Kendall Jenner wore a KNWLS minidress over flare pants. Skants or dress, a coordinated look is a low lift method for elevating your transseasonal wardrobe. Jennifer Lawrence, July 2025 ULRA, REES Kendall Jenner, February 2024 CAMA, VAEM, DALI
