Burger King's new Whopper is what fans have been asking for. What's on it?
The BBQ Brisket Whopper hits menus Tuesday, July 15, for a limited time at participating Burger King restaurants nationwide, according to the Miami-based burger chain.
A smoky twist on the original, the new sandwich features an all-beef patty piled with BBQ brisket, crispy onions, American cheese and a golden barbecue sauce, Burger King said in a news release.
It's also topped with lettuce, tomato and mayo and served on a bun.
Those with a smaller appetite can order the sandwich as a Whopper Jr., Burger King said.
Pricing information wasn't immediately available.
It's Burger King's latest iteration of its signature 'flame grilled' Whopper, which debuted in 1957. The BBQ Brisket burger is also the first creation to come out of the new 'Whopper by You' platform, which invites fans to dream up their very own Whopper creations.
'As the brand known for 'Have It Your Way,' we want to continue letting our Guests tell us what they want — and when it comes to our iconic Whopper sandwich, they have a lot of ideas,' Joel Yashinsky, chief marketing officer for Burger King US&C, said in the release.
Last year, Burger King released a trio of limited-time Whopper sandwiches created by fans as part of its 'Million Dollar Whopper' contest, McClatchy News reported.
The finalists included a fried pickle ranch Whopper, a maple bourbon Whopper and a Mexican street corn Whopper. Fans had a shot at a $1 million prize and saw their creations featured on menus nationwide, Burger King said.
The new BBQ Brisket Whopper will be available for a limited time, though the burger chain didn't say for how long.

Elmgreen & Dragset Take Us Down the Rabbit Hole in 'The Alice in Wonderland Syndrome'
Elmgreen & Dragset, the Berlin-based artist duo behind the iconic Prada Marfa, are gearing up for their Los Angeles solo debut atPace Gallery. On view from September 13 through October 25, the immersive two-part showcase that isThe Alice in Wonderland Syndromeinvites viewers down the rabbit hole and into a world of perceptive play, muddying the lines between fact and fantasy through sculptural intervention. Much like its titular neurological condition, the exhibition probes into psychological distortion, specifically how scale influences our understanding of reality. Using the gallery's architecture as grounds for spatial manipulation, each artwork will be presented in full and half-size versions between the main gallery and adjoining space. A hyperrealistic sculpture of a sleeping gallery assistant, slumped over the front desk, will greet visitors, setting the tone for the dream-like environments that await. From what we know so far, additional works on view will include new wall pieces from the duo's 'Sky Target' series, alongside two marble-carved young men donning VR goggles, juxtaposing the immaterial of digital experiences with the material's durable character.
