Why are Battlefield 2042 fans frustrated with the Lynx Sniper Rifle?

Image via DICE. After a successful Battlefield 6 open beta, fans now have started flocking in Battlefield 2042. Its sudden 9.2.0 update has spiked the playerbase to a whole new level out of nowhere. In this update, many fan-favorite aspects have been added from different Battlefield titles. Among these contents, one highly anticipated weapon was the Lynx Sniper Rifle, for which fans had high hopes. But things didn't go the way it was supposed to as this rifle now has been criticized heavily. The Lynx Sniper Rifle controversy in Battlefield 2042 explained Those who took part in the Battlefield 6 open beta, unlocked the Lynx Sniper Rifle immediately in Battlefield 2042. But those who didn't play BF6 in those open beta phases, have to wait for sometime to eventually get it in BF2042 later. However, it seems it would be better for the latter ones not to acquire this weapon as the ones who have got it don't seem to be liking it at all. The gameplay footages of the Lynx Sniper Rifle is all over the internet, and according to the fans, it is the 'worst Sniper' in the game. Obviously this frustration has its own reason. In a footage, the sniper rifle is shown to be pointed exactly at the head of an enemy, but doesn't seem to be hitting it despite firing multiple shots. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like These things are considered normal in Iceland - View listing Novelodge Undo The Lynx is the worst Sniper in the game by u/AnonymousIndividiual in battlefield2042 Except for the DMRs, a standard Sniper rifle is known to be a 'one-shot-kill' weapon if it's directly fired on the head. But that is not the case with this rifle in BF2042. The video showcased the awful bullet spread of this weapon, making it practically unusable as it not only inflicted any damage, but also missed all the shots despite the crosshair being pointed exactly on the head. The main motive of this update was to bring back the fans to Battlefield 2042 until Battlefield 6 gets fully launched on October 10. But it seems everything might go in vain yet again if DICE doesn't do anything about this serious issue. However, if players can look beyond this Sniper rifle, there are a lot more new things to try out in Battlefield 2042 now . How to get Battlefield 6 rewards through BF2042

Image via DICE. After the end of the open beta phase of Battlefield 6, DICE added new content in Battlefield 2042 to hook the players to its franchise. The open beta spanned through two weekends and garnered over half-a-million concurrent players, which was a huge success of the franchise, especially after the disastrous performance of BF2042. Well, it seems DICE was able to restore the lost faith of the fans in this long standing franchise, and as a consequence Battlefield 2042 was enriched with a sudden update. Not only that, the premium Battle Pass was made free, with which players can obtain Battlefield 6 items. Players can get Battlefield 6 items by completing the Battlefield 2042 Battle Pass All the Battlefield 6 rewards will be available in the game when it will launch. | Image via Epic Games. The new 9.2.0 update has added numerous fan-favorite contents in Battlefield 2042, like the iconic Iwo Jima map from BF1942, BF1943, and BF5. Along with it, two brand new weapons and two new vehicles have been added as well. But the highlight of this update has to be the Premium Battle Pass which has been absolutely free for all players, starting from August 18 to October 7, 2025. The most exciting part of this Battle Pass is that players can unlock rewards for Battle Pass 6, which will be reflected directly into the game when you launch it on October 10. The new season in Battlefield 2042 is dedicated to Battlefield 6 itself as it's named 'Road to Battlefield 6.' This season's Battle Pass features a total of 60 tiers, and out of those tiers, there are a total of six rewards which are outlined red, which are actual Battlefield 6 items. Another exciting thing is that all those six rewards along with the associated items are inspired from various Battlefield titles. Here are they: Tier Level to Reach Reward Item Type Inspired From 8 Western Front Weapon Skin Battlefield 1 19 Muller Weapon Skin Battlefield V 30 Aurora Vehicle Skin Battlefield Bad Company 2 40 Blackburn Vehicle Skin Battlefield 3 49 Commander Soldier Skin Battlefield 4 60 Sovereign Soldier Soldier Skin Battlefield 2042 However, the Battle Pass might be free, but players still need to grind hard to farm XP in order to reach certain tiers and unlock those rewards. That means, DICE really wants players to spend the time period until Battlefield 6, by sticking their heads into Battlefield 2042. And as a reason for that, Battlefield 2042 has recently achieved a huge player count after so many years. Read More: Why is Battlefield 2042 player count going up?
